I thought the reception issues were overblown, but I have reception problems everyday with no data access whatsoever. And this is in downtown areas with supposedly good coverage. Anytime coverage is not perfect I lose data. And it's not AT&T cause I'm on Rogers in Canada. I've never had these problems with my 3GS.

Yes.

Mostly problem-free here. I'll always have the typical hiccups like anything found in smartphones or computers. Problems comes with the territory for almost anything nowadays.

But for my next phone, it may not be an iPhone this time. I may try something different. Maybe an Android, or if Nokia can battle Nintendo 3D gaming, maybe I will go back to them and their Meego. I can always get next year's iPod touch to be close to the "experience" of the iPhone and probably get the 128GB storage I wouldn't mind having right now. This iPhone 4 is already my third device with iOS that I've owned, so maybe I could just end my iPhone ownership in grand-style with a happy experience. I just don't see iPhone changing that much in a few years, and even if it did, will it really be better? Every company can runs its course with innovation. Look at Sony with the PlayStation brand. The "cool factor" will wear off eventually. In cell phones, things become popular like a fad. Right now, people love the OS of iPhone, but remember when flip phones were still trendy and hardly anyone really carries them now? Back then, it wasn't the OS but being thin.

I will probably get bored of those other OSes too and will probably go back to iPhone eventually. But just like my women, I like variety.

I'm impressed with the iPhone 4 battery life. It is way better than the 3GS. The only thing I hate is how the glass is getting scratched. I have light long scratches on the glass and all I do is put it in my pocket. This never happened to my iPod touches or my 3GSs (I got them replaced many times for various problems).

More so. My week 33 is flawless, bar a small blemish. It's amazing how this phone has managed to seamlessly integrate into my life.

It matched my expectations. The only time it has dropped calls is this past weekend when I was in NYC and the hotel I was staying at killed my reception. But, anywhere else in NYC I was 5 bars and didn't drop a call.

Love it. Awesome battery life and best reception of any iPhone model I've owned so far.

+1

The ability to hold calls in weak signal areas is far better than previous iphones, the battery life is outstanding, and the camera is finally worth using.

I'm very happy so far.

I have had previous iPhones, loved them.

I used to replace my phones every couple of months until I got the iPhone.

Ever since I only replace it once a year.;)

Got my iP4 at launch and couldn't be happier with it, lover every single thing about it.:):apple:

Absolutely. My iP4 has exceeded my expectations in every way.

My battery life is incredible. I'm in my second day of usage (moderate to heavy between gaming/emails/web) and still have 54% left. I had a 3G and then decided to try an EVO and after 3/4 day of heavy usage I would have to recharge. Granted, it's easy to just hook up the phone to a charger, but given the fact that I am in and out of the office doing press checks etc, it was an inconvenience.

The speed of the new chip makes it feel tremendously snappy.

The display is outstanding. Makes it truly something special. Play Chopper 2 and see what I mean. I would certainly say that it was one of the reasons I came back to Apple. As well as the battery and overall polish of iOS. Camera quality is fantastic as is video recording.

Build quality is pretty spectacular. It just feels SOLID. No "death-grip" issues but I do have occasional hiccups with the proximity sensor. It's not nearly bad enough to take it back. I'll just wait for the update.

The phone is just every bit as good as I hoped it would be.

My iPhone 4 (in conjunction with my wife's iPhone 4) has continued to surpass expectations for an all-in-one gadget. Having had all generations of the iPhone, the one feature that's made this generation the best has to be FaceTime. It's great over Wi-Fi and if you jailbreak and utilize it over 3G, it is even better. I'm not talking about quality of the video chat as being better, but the utility of it. Recently, I missed physically being at my daughter's 4th birthday, as I'm on the other side of the world for work. Took my jailbroken & unlocked iPhone 4, got a local provider with a data plan and managed to FaceTime over 3G from a bullet train in China leaving Beijing at 130mph to watch my daughter blow out her birthday cake. That moment alone was worth all the alleged drama surrounding the phone. Oh and having used the iPhone 4 in 3 different countries outside the USA, with 3G service, I am so unable to replicate any attenuation in signal! This totally implies a failure on AT&T's part in network strength and/or the poorer countries that I visited don't utilize the 3G spectrum as heavily, seeing as they have low iphone adoption rates.

iPhone 4 + Jailbreak + full customization/unrestricted 3rd party programs = total win! I don't think I'd replace the iPhone 4 with anything... at least until the 5.

It has surpassed any expectation that I had.

Taking into consideration the less than stellar phone reception of my first generation iPhone and the hysteria surrounding the current antenna I was expecting average to poor phone reception. Full caveat that I don't deal with At&T, but I cannot even replicate attenuation in my city. The quality of the phone app is excellent.

I thought the iPad was the epitome of detail paid to the manufacturing of mobile devices for Apple. The hardware of the iPhone 4 is absolutely remarkable. Needless to say the company has gotten very good at manufacturing high-end feeling devices. The display is amazing. The internals are really fast.

iOS 4 is great. It's highly functional and although I can see how people might get bored with it over the evolution of iOS, but for the sake of getting stuff done on the phone, I'll take it over Android any day.

Also, the size is just perfect. I don't want phone displays to get any bigger.

I love it, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I think the retina display alone is worth the upgrade. ^_^

Best iPhone yet in my opinion. Much faster all around then my 3G. Love the design. Love the camera and flash. I have no problems with reception, calls, or antenna related issues. As a matter of fact only time I can replicate the antenna issue is in locations where I could never make a call before anyway. In real world use everyday it has been awesome.

Love my IP4! The only downside - I find that I use my phone a lot more now. The display is just so incredible I am more comfortable grabbing my phone to check email, news, weather. I also find the sound quality improved - so I am also using more as a phone :D

Really happy with mine. It has exceeded all of expectations.

Not as much of an upgrade as I first thought but still a great phone. Much better than an iPad imo.

No complaints here. It works without issue, holds calls extremely well, has decent battery life, and works quite well for calls, either directly using the device, using the speakerphone, or using a BT earpiece.

My only concern is how other people have said how easily it would get scratched up or shattered, but I remedied that potential issue with an Otterbox Defender case.

The $50 question is, "Would you buy the device again?" My answer is definitely yes. In fact, I've bought another for a family member.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A400 Safari/6531.22.7)

This is my first iPhone so my expectations are probably different than most previous iPhone users. I'm a long time blackberry user and I've only had the iPhone 4 for exactly a week.

So far it has exceeded my expectations on every level. I do not regret the switch one bit. Reception has been great, no proximity sensor issue at all, flawless hardware and the battery life is at least as good as my last Blackberry, the Bold.

As a side note, I've had my iPhone in an iSkin Solo case and had a steinheil ultra crystal screen protector on it since it was bought.

reception issues would've never affected me in the beginning since I don't hold my phone with a death grip.. haven't had any proximity issues

my only beef with the phone is that it feels way too fragile but it looks so freaking good.. i've put a zaggs on the back, a monoprice high transparency on the front and a bumper around it, couldn't be happier with the phone

The OP is a TROLL

The answer to the trolls question is yes, I am happier than i thought I would be. I got my iphone4 on the first day. I put a screen protector on it and a case immediately. I have never had any "antenna problems". I have not noticed any significant drop in calls, I drop the same amount if not less as my neighbor in the next cubicle, who has one of the droids. I do not seem to have proximity sensor issues.
I say the OP is a troll because he/she starts threads like..."why are iphone users so silly?", Are Ipad users jealous of the new ipod touch?, and other such ridiculous posts. The op sounds and acts like a teenager. Go troll a droid site and stop bothering the adults

Meets or exceeds my expectations in terms of performance.

I was let down by the lack of a white iPhone, the antennagate and proximity issue. But my antenna isn't really an issue and I would use a case any way so that part is fine. The proximity sensor was a fix that should have been in 4.0.1 but that's my opinion. I also don't like the dual glass screens since the phone obviously doesn't have glass as strong as sapphire crystal.
