LOL BYE.

You DO realize that the only phone announced today that's unprecedented in terms of price was the iPhone X, right? Surely you realize the price of the 8/8 Plus is the same as the 7/7 plus, right?

For some reason I'm not very excited about the iPhone X. Maybe that would change once I see it in person. Don't
plan on preordering one.
My next phone may be a samsung or something else. I have had an S5, and Note 5 in the past. Never had a problem with my Note 5 until my niece borrowed it, and it broke from water damage.

Someone from an another thread mentioned the new 8 was $50 more...

Incorrect. The 8 starts at $699 and the 8 plus starts at $799. Last year, the 7 started at $649 and the 7 plus started at $769.

Except it's not the same price. They also raised the price of the regular 8 and 8 plus $50 over the 7 and 7 plus.

I dropped the iPhone when they dropped the headphone jack. But with android phones being so much less than the X I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

I've spent more than $250 on apps. I like the convenience of all my devices (imac, ipad, appletv and iphone) working together.) for me and my family, switching to another eco system would be very expensive!
This is an important thing many people heavily invest iOS and Mac system would think when considering whether upgrade or not. I maybe stick with iOS for a while longer Given the heavy investment. So at some point, I still need to move on and upgrade.

I love apple but for the price there is certainly better options for the price. Note 8 for one is a fantastic device which i think would be better value for money than the iphone x.

I'm not sure. I'll probably never stop buying their computers or iPads, but tonight I will be researching the Galaxy Note 8 to see if it's a worthy upgrade from the 7 Plus. What a FAIL on the part of Apple today. So stupid to keep the design of the 8 the same as the 7 and 6. The X isn't edge to edge screen (there's still a sizeable chuck around the screen) and it's so ugly, with no color choices. I'll either keep the 7 Plus or jump ship to Samsung.

I don't leave a product line or company because of what they don't do. I leave FOR another product line or company because of what they do.

Currently there is nothing out I prefer over the Apple products I own.

I am, after this keynote I am officially DONE, first it was the Mac Book Pro, I wanted the no touch bar version but found out it was a little less powerful than i wanted it to be and the TouchBar was better but more expensive so I dump the whole thing and got something else. I was hoping for a Iphone 7s Plus (8) and could not believe the prices, I don't do contracts or do that rent a phone for a year program crap. Iphones don't last long due to updates or use. Its not worth it any more, I will no longer purchase Apple products and move on without them, people who want to and have the money then its fine, but for me I can't justify the price. It's a phone not a kidney
I think I am....i still have apple watch that tied me down.

No, I’m happy with the Apple products I own. I don’t have to love all their products and practices.

That said, I’m so tired of the way they greedily shuffle around the storage tiers of their iOS devices every year. 64GB is a great baseline (probably enough iPhone storage for me), but the sweet middle spot is always missing.

I’m sure I could quickly adapt to the gestures of the X. The display looks great and having more screen in a smaller form factor would be nice. But a new more invasive way to unlock my phone isn’t a feature I’m motivated to pay extra money for. If I were interested in upgrading I would definitely look into the 8 models. I like my home button and Touch ID. I just got a 7 Plus, so the 8 Plus will probably be what I switch to in a year or two.

One year of not wanting to buy the new iPhone is no where near enough to make me done with Apple. I am very loyal to the Mac range and to OSX and have no intention of changing platforms for my main computing system. As long as I am using OSX/MacOS I will want my other devices to be Apple for consistency and easy of use/integration amongst devices. I'll just be holding off on changing my iPhone this year for once.

How can you possibly know Face ID is a poor implementation? Nobody has used it yet. And the flood light thing was just for illustration. It all uses infrared light. He said it's all invisible to you.

I saw nothing that shows it will be any better then current tech. The simple fact that their solution for it to work in low light is to flash a light in your face is a major turn off..

Yep, I am done. 3 years late on features they say they innovated......Samsung has had them for a long time. My Note 8 I have now after my iPhone 7 plus is awesome.
