I've had my AirPods Pro first gen for 4-5 years now, and they're still holding up well for my needs. I'll likely not replace them until the batteries no longer last how I need them to.
My AirPods 2 had their batteries not going well as they were in the start 5-6 years ago. My 3rd gen AirPods Pro are coming in 2 days.

I upgraded from APP1 to APP3; mostly for the hearing aid feature and better battery life (battery was fine on the APP1 originally, but they're getting weak). I'd considered getting the APP2 for the hearing aid feature but I really don't use my AirPods all that much anyway... yard work and all but the loudest power tools, I can just shut the mics off on my MFi hearing aids & stream something there. But I do like the stem-controls so figured I'd give the APP3 a shot.

I've been wearing them to the gym pretty much every morning for a couple of months. I like the ability to start/stop audio, adjust noise cancellation, and adjust volume without having to use the phone; and the hearing aid function works "well enough" for the rare occasions when I need to hold a conversation. If I'm working after the gym I switch to my normal hearing aids but on the weekends I'll leave the APP3 in for a few hours; hung some Christmas lights over the weekend for example & they lasted about 5 hours!

I just did the same - upgraded by APP2s (still had the lightning version so around 3 yers old), on BF sale for $219 (funny that this week, they're now available for $199!)

I didn't need to upgrade, but it was easy to justify given 3yrs old, slightly lower battery life, and the fact that I use it every day (for music, and for work calls). I didn't want to pay full price when it first came out, but with any discount, it was worth it to pull the trigger. No regrets, love them! Still my fave Apple device, and I have/had many of them!

I upgraded from the first gen.

Sound quality is better, and QOL improvements such as seeing battery life at all times is very helpful.

I'm happy with them.

Same here! My AirPods 2 just weren’t cutting it because the battery life was so short—only about 3 hours on a single charge. And the left one always dies first, followed by the right one.

With the Pro 3, I can really feel the difference! I’ve also tried the hearing aid, and it’s really cool. You need to be on anything besides adaptive audio to use it. Spatial Audio makes media sound better, and I can finally do my Headspace meditations and sleep casts with background sounds and noise cancellation.

I got a glow-in-the-dark case for it! Conversation awareness is a lifesaver so I don’t have to lower the volume to talk without shouting by accident!

Exactly 👍. I wore my Apple AirPods Pro 3 for my telework meetings yesterday, and the microphones were incredibly clear! My AirPods 2, on the other hand, had their microphones stop working after five years of use.

I have a pair of APP1 and APP2. I use the APP1 for phone calls and conference calls, which is the majority of my use of AirPods. My APP2 I use when I'm listening to music to enjoy the music, or when I might need the conversational awareness. I won't get the APP3 until the battery health on the APP1 or APP2 has depleted to make them unreliable.

I'm really impressed with both generations (1 and 2). The 3 looks great too but when I need to replace an existing pair I'll compare the then rates of APP2 and APP3 and I suspect I'd end up getting APP2 on sale over APP3 when that happens.

This is the first time I got Apple airpods, and got the APP3. ANC is good, buds comfort is good, though they don't look aesthetically good when in ears, because they bulge out a little, which was not the case with previous generations. Sound is very loud at maximum volume, sound signature is just ok, bass low frequencies could have been better if boosted slightly.
Pairing with other non-apple devices sometimes becomes a nightmare. The double-tap on the case doesn't work with a silicone cover on top of the case, so have to remove them from the cover to do a pair-up with non-apple device.

I have not use these stagnant AirPods Pro 2 in over a month a probably never will again.
steinhauser is better.

Just purchased the Ultra Watch 3 on Friday and had to switch out the Airpod Pro 2 and the warranty was gone. Decided to just buy the 3's since it was on sale for $209 and traded in the 2's for almost the price of the 2 ear Applecare+ at Best Buy.

Have you ever experimented with Spatial Audio and personalized it?

It really complements the immersive experience of Dolby Atmos-compatible songs on Apple Music and my Headspace meditations and sleep casts. Plus, the expanded enhancements in the media assist (which requires a hearing aid setup) makes the AirPods experience even better.

I tried the APP3 for a few days, then had to return them because they just didn't feel right in the ears. Have gone back to my APP2. Definitely feel like I need to charge them more frequently these days, but it seems that purchasing the APP3 has given me 3 free months of Apple Music? Haven't redeemed the offer yet (since I already have Youtube Music), but the offer expires in a couple of days...

Why not redeem the trial before it expires? I haven’t seen any holiday Apple Music specials lately, except for Shazam.

I tried the AirPods Pro 2 at the Apple Store before they were discontinued. In my opinion, I have the Pro 3s and the fit difference. The Pro 2s fit fine on the medium-sized ones on me, but the Pro 3s medium tips were too big, so I wear the small ones.

i tried it on day 1 with the personalised spatial audio. But felt like it reduced the bass further or something like that. So deleted the profile then and there, but would experiment with it sometime again, now that I have familiarised myself with the usual sound signature it offers.

Also I dont currently have Apple Music subscription, so don't really know if i'd feel the effect of it or not

I guess that for all its flaws, I have grown accustomed to YouTube music and just never got around to it.

Just activated the free trial. Seems everyone is pushing them out. I have also received a 1 month trial for ad-free twitch as well.

You know what I have missed about Apple Music? The integration with shortcuts, and the third party app support.
Agreeable my Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club app has Apple Music controls and also the ability to play it when you do a workout or run

Same when I don’t have Apple Music trial to use I listen to music on the Musicana app. I used to use musi until they shut down last year for good due to a lawsuit against YouTube and Apple. I use it to play YT music for free.

I'm cruising right along with my APP1 and they mostly work the way I expect. I used them every day for workouts and walks. However, I accidentally tore one of the tips when I was cleaning it earlier in the year and it was a pain to find official Apple tips. Eventually I got one from a kind soul at the Apple Store. But I don't want to go through that again. So I'm going to try the APP3. If it's even a little bit better I think I'll be happy.
