I'm cruising right along with my APP1 and they mostly work the way I expect. I used them every day for workouts and walks. However, I accidentally tore one of the tips when I was cleaning it earlier in the year and it was a pain to find official Apple tips. Eventually I got one from a kind soul at the Apple Store. But I don't want to go through that again. So I'm going to try the APP3. If it's even a little bit better I think I'll be happy.
😃 excited to hear you’re upgrading !!! So far I like my pro 3s. I had them for a week already !

Right on! Good to hear positive comments about them from you!
What case are you getting for them? I got a glow in the dark Elago case.

Hmm... that's a good question. I don't know. I like the idea of a glow in the dark case. I have glow in the dark battery holders.

I'm not entirely sold on the APP3, but the Airpods Pro 2 is a sizable upgrade on the APP1, and you can save some money over the APP3.

I just ordered the new APP3, I have the 2s but never wear them besides on an airplane. Tried comply tips for the 2s and I couldn’t get a good seal in one ear. I decided to try the 3s to see if they fit better so I can wear them at the gym, the 2s fall out of my ears if I’m moving around

I wear small and extra small tips on my AirPods Pro 3, they don’t fall off while running.

I do prefer getting some ear hooks or those strings that can catch them in case they fall out.

I got my AirPods Pro 3 the other day and finally got around to using them on today's walk (it's been very cold here). Anyway, my first impression is that there's more bass. I guess that's good but I'm not a heavy bass guy. Unfortunately, at the same time, it sounds like I've lost midrange and treble. Things sound "flat" and "muddy". The EQ app settings on the phone are presets and none of them sound great, just good. I wonder why Apple doesn't have manual settings here. I'll need to do some "side by side" comparisons with my APP1 to have a fair comparison.

I think the automatic conversation music attenuation feature may be useful. Whenever I encounter another person to say "good morning" or "hi" I always have to reach to stop the music. Maybe now I don't have to. On the other hand, if there's nobody around, I sometimes sing along so that won't work well.

The setup offered a Hearing Test but I couldn't get it to work. It kept asking me to put the pods in the case even though they were there already. Probably just a fluke.

Overall with the "out of the box" experience I'm fairly underwhelmed. But to be fair I'll need to do some more use and testing.

I had to return my APP 3. The fit was terrible. APP 2 fit was way better. The static and popping sounds started a week in after wearing them.

Over the past few days I've been trying out various things and making comparisons. Here's what I've figured out:

I was able to get the hearing test to work and thankfully, I have no measurable hearing loss. I was also able to get the fit test to work (eventually) and it likes how the medium buds fit in my ears. A little surprising as others have indicated that I may need to step down a size.

Comparing my APP3 sound to APP1 demonstrated clearly that the 3 is much better sounding. That said, the muddy/flat sound on the 3 overall still takes some of that "better" away.

I generally only use my AirPods Pro for walks/hikes so I prefer to use my Apple Watch for music instead of the iPhone (as it weighs a bit more). And since the EQ app doesn't exist on the Watch, I won't be able to improve the sound. Maybe in the future this will be implemented in Watch OS or a firmware update. I can use the Music > EQ app from my iPhone and Mac, so at least there I can make things better.

I turned off Conversation Awareness because apparently I can't stop myself from the occasional "sing along". 🙂

So, I guess overall I'm less upset and since they do sound better (even if it's not what I'd hoped for) I'll keep them. Hopefully there will be improvements in the future.

Finally Amazon is shipping my APP3 that was on sale for $199 the day after xmas. I guess they got swamped with orders at that price point. Will see if different sized tips work... my APP2 hs the large which worked well for more than a year.

Yea, that sounds about right. I got the same deal and it took 11 days for them to get them to me.

I think Amazon had some issues over the holidays, I've never had deliveries like this. My toaster oven took over a month to be delivered and even then they dropped it on my front porch even though I paid them extra to deliver to my garage.

Been using the new gen 3 for a few hours. Here’s my observation.

Ear tips fit differently than the gen 2 and still using large tips like in the gen 2. However the fit test shows the left ear works on a medium but not the right ear. So I put large in both.

Took about an hour before I became used to the sound difference. And yea there is a difference. Bass is richer which I do like but highs seem more projected than the gen 2. Overall a wider sound stage seems present. But all of this depends on the source.

One track I compared had a richer and more robust sound. Others seemed less so on the gen 3. So opinion to keep or return is still underway.

Yea, I noticed this today as well. I just got done with one song that sounded great and then the next one was back to the muddy sound I dislike. There's so many options for these that I suspect something buggy in the automation. At least I hope so and will be corrected eventually. It's odd because if I listen to my music on my gen 1s it doesn't sound as good but at least all songs have the same quality.

Yeah good thing Amazon gives us 30 days. I will probably keep them as I doubt new AirPods with H3 chip will release before later next year.

I received APP3 over Christmas but only recently properly assessed them. I tried a number of settings including the Hearing Assistance after completing the hearing test. The test showed higher frequencies falling off (I'm 76) but the Hearing Assist boosted them too much. Turning it off gave a more natural sound.
I have turned the Adaptive Audio threshold fully to the left (min audio) - I was getting far too much ambient sound in the default position.
Under accessibility I turned on Volume Swipe but I can't get it to work consistently. Does anyone else have trouble adjusting the volume by swiping the airpod stem or is it just me? I'll probably visit my Apple Store soon to see if it's me or the sensors in the APP3s.
Over all, the NC is amazing.
I haven't used Apple AirPods before the APP3 - I am moving from Melomania M100s - which give a comfortable balanced sound but they don't have the Apple System integration, conversation mode or adaptive audio. Although the volume controls on the M100 earbuds worked consistently. The M100 also have an huge charging case. The APP3s case is half the size.
Verdict: I'll be keeping the APP3s

I've been able to use the swiping effectively but had it "fail" for me today when I tried using it. The problem for me is that it's not super clear how much pressure I have to apply while sliding. I'm nervous I'll pull the pod right out of my ear. Today, I just used the crown on my watch to raise the volume.

Using the medium tips like I did on my APP2, my 3’s look like they are barely in my ears. Noticed it today at the gym. Going to try the small tips tomorrow for my run.

I can't get the volume swipe to work consistently on the Pro 3s, nor could I on the Pro 2s, so I assume it's me.

Like @richard13, I just use the volume control on my watch.

try these i had similar problems and discomfort, i am nothing to do with Soulwit but i purchased these off amazon a couple weeks ago they are marginally smaller than original airpod pro 3 tips and softer or flexible.im back to the same comfort of my airpods pro2 the photo shows medium and large side by side but hard to reflect size difference as it marginal but apple originals on left and soulwit is on right . the soulwit has better comfort which is the significant difference for me and reason for purchase.no difference in sound or noise cancellation performance.
i was going to order comply versions but previously used them and the material deteriorated badly in our summer heat after 2 months. i used medium previously on APP2 for a couple of years with no issues on APP3 i had to use small with original tips they were still slightly discomfort and loose. i can now use medium again which is a more secure fit and 150% better comfort the difference is substantial
