as we know, the tsmc cpu uses 16 nm processing while samsung's uses 14 nm processing. however, the iphone 6s with samsung cpu produces more heat than with tsmc's.

On the physical viewpoint, the smaller processing means it is more sensitive to the heat effect, so it will be more possible to get malfunction, especially after few months using.

on the other hand, the smaller processing should have produce less heat, while samsung's 14nm process produces with more heat, which means samsung's cpu contains with serious defects.

i assume that in few months, there will be a huge number of people returning their iphone, and so coincident, they all use iphones with samsung's cpu

This was too good :D

OP, that's not going to happen. But I'm sure the speculated drama is fun thinking about.

Sucks to be you guys. I got a blazing fast iPhone 5 here. No pressurepointgate no chipgate, my usage of the phone lasts 2 solid days from 1 charge.

Enjoy your slow, more costly than an imac, phones

Is that lil thing a phone? Awwwww so cute

Can we just enjoy our new phones already? It's a small nuance of a luxury device.

No.

On a side note, I just backed up my moms 5S, so I can give her my 6 and holy crap does that thing run hot. The 6S is nothing compared to that.

I didn't make a huge scene yes I threatened it to get my point across that I was frustrated with having the "inferior" chip, what rich pricks like you don't understand is I saved for the 6s to get a top of the line model not to get 3% percent less, it's the thought.

I wasn't comparing the GPU to the iPhone I was comparing the small amount of people whom filed petition after petition making Apple acknowledge the problem and fix it.

I haven't mentioned the 2.5hr battery life drain as I upgraded to 9.1 beta 4 a few days ago hoping it would fix the issue (and apparently I have to wait for indexing etc to finish before I judge battery life) you should be the first to know this as you've gone through my previous posts

I am not the only one frustrated with the 3% less.
If you return a perfectly working device over this, you have bigger problems than an "inferior " chip, IMHO

That would be an awesome feature if the Galaxy S6 had a good battery life. Standing near an outlet gets old fast...

With my Galaxy S6, I get around the same battery life as the iPhone 6. I get 5.5 hours of pure screen on time which is great for a phone with a resolution that's much higer that the iPhone's. Quad HD vs HD, not even Full HD hello Apple it's almost 2016 AND you're asking premium price fot that!? Listening to TuneIn radio at full volume with screen off, with the iPhone a whopping 8 percent goes off per hour, now with the S6 only 4 percent per hour so that's great if you like listening to the radio like me. And don't forget Apple will smartly add that listening time to your battery usage stats in the settings, to make it seem that you got even more 'on-screen time'.

There are a lot of people who don't know how to use an Android phone, those are the ones complaining about the battery. You just have to tweak some settings. I lose around 0.5 % per hour when it's on standby mode with WiFi and LTE enabled. And I'm not just telling all this to justify my purchase, the battery life really is just fine and the S6 REALLY is a better value for money phone overall than the iPhone 6S, taken from a neutral standpoint.

I'm out.
Peace!

My lady still owns her Galaxy S6 and she doesnt like it much either. There's always some kind of software glitch and the reception is worse than my iPhone. The only thing the S6 has over an iPhone is that beautiful screen and the camera is great but so is the one on iPhone 6s. I can't comment on battery comparison between the regular 6s and Galaxy S6 but I can say without a doubt that the S6 battery is garbage compared to my 6s Plus.

I've owned Android phones going back to the very first G1 and I think I know a thing or two about managing Android software. I was planning on buying the Note 5 but I needed a break from TouchWiz and I hate how they no longer support SD cards and removable batteries. If the iPhone adopts OLED then I probably won't consider the Note 6.

The 6s is coming to my country in 6 days, we don't have official Apple stores but we do have Premium Resellers and T-Mobile (Telekom MK). If the device I get is not TSMC I will be returning it. Why?

1) Macedonia is a small and relatively poor European country (average salary from 250-300 euros)
2) iPhone's here cost more than they cost in USA or UK, some non-official resellers are selling the Unlocked iPhone 6s 64 GB for 1000 euros while the same phone costs 850 euros in Netherlands (a country with higher standard and better economy)

So when I pay something that expensive I better get the best out of it. It's not OCD or spoilness but a simple appreciation of the hard earned money.

I highly doubt they will switch it due to chip. You'd have to make up some bs reason you need an exchange. I'd keep the chip with the better performance myself

One thing for people to realize when they first get the iPhone is that the filesystem is being indexed by spotlight and this will use up a lot of battery. However it's only your first time thing. Don't start panicking over your battery until after 48 hours.

It doesn't matter, I paid a pretty big lump sum to have the newest and greatest! Not to have a 2-3% less than someone who paid the same price I did!

This is why we Apple users are called "sheep" as soon as Apple releases a statement people bow down and say yes Apple, I am sorry I went against you Apple.

Not me as I said I paid a premium to have the best out there not a 2-3% difference in performance!

I called Apple a little bit ago and spoke to a senior rep named Renee, and told her she has 2 choices (bluntly) either I get my phone exchanged or I get something for free, worth about $40 as that would have been the 3% difference in price compared to what I paid versus the TSMC chip. She told me she was in aware of the issue and couldn't find apples "statement" anywhere on her system. I told her if she didn't comply I was going to the local Apple Store at the busiest time of day and making a "huge"scene I don't care if I looked like an idiot, I'd do pretty much anything for 1,200.00 Canadian dollars.

She complied and issued me a replacement

And for those who claim "it's so small of a difference" don't worry about it idiot. That's how it starts keep giving Apple an inch and they will eventually take a mile. They got away with bendgate (cause the issued a statement, and Apple users bowed down to the master) they are trying to do the same thing with "chipgate" almost like purposely seeing how much the "sheep" will take before they have had enough.

just wait until he finds out there is up to 7%ish difference between identical chips, even if he had the TSMC it could be worse then someone else's.

maybe he will cause a scene/throw a tantrum in a shop because of that too :p

however disgruntled you are there is absolutely no excuse to take it out on customer service and be a ass like he did, it's not like she designed the phone.

If he is also testing the battery immediately after he gets it then he's going to be disappointed every time because spotlight is indexing the whole system. If he restores his back up it'll take even longer for spotlight to finishing Index the system.
