I knew I wanted to midnight blue classic buckle before the Spring Forward event and was really hoping it would be available outside the gold version because I didn't really like Gold and now I see I can't afford it either.

Then I thought I'd get the space grey Sport but after realizing I would limit the bands it looks good with I'm now thinking of the steel watch with a black sport band and maybe a black classic buckle but I'm still hoping they put out the classic buckle in midnight blue eventually. I have my iPhone 6's leather case in navy blue as well as my iPad mini so it would be nice to have all of those match.

You could just get the midnight blue leather band (the one without the buckle)

The modern buckle is too girly and I don't like the leather loops ridges. It's too sporty for a second more dressy strap to the black sport band I'll most likely get.

I've decided on the 42mm SS, but I'm still torn on the bands. I know I want one to work out with and another as the primary band for work, going out, etc.

I'm planning to preorder the 42mm SS with black sport band as well as the individual link band and brown leather loop band. I'll try them on in store before the 24th, then return the one I don't want when they arrive.

If they had a chocolate brown leather strap, my decision would be a lot easier! A little surprised the leather loop comes in 'stone' and 'light brown', but no dark brown

I too was certain that I was going to get he space gray Sport watch, but now see that you're kind of pigeon-holed into just a couple of bands that look ok with it. So for that reason I'm most likely going to get the stainless steel version with the black sport band. With hopes that Apple will come out with 42mm classic buckles in the future...midnight blue to be specific. If not then oh well....I still think the sport band looks good with the stainless steel case.

My wife was looking at a 38mm Sport with the blue band, but was having a really hard time imagining wearing that band at work all the time. She was really liking the midnight blue buckle but didn't want to spend $250 for just the band....so now she's strongly considering just getting the stainless steel case with the midnight blue classic buckle.

Thanks Apple....we're now going to have to likely spend an extra $600 to get the watches we want. Went from $750 up to $1350 for the two watches....guess we're not going to upgrade our iPhone's this year now. lol

I think but am not 100% that you can reserve a model with out paying and when you go to the store, you'll be able to try them on with different cases and different bands. Once you have decided which Is the right for for you, you simply buy it and that's it. Besides it's part of their jobs now to let you try all models you want with all bands you want since they say it's the "most personal device yet". Everyone in my opinion needs to find a match :)

I really doubt u can "reserve" anything without paying for it. No way. U might be able to reserve 2 models for in store pick up if they offer it, but you'll be paying for them both and then have to return the one you don't want. Basically the same thing if u have a credit card to put them on.

So we wanted the exact same one but of course Apple had to make it exclusive to the Edition.

I'm hoping companies like Incase put out solid bands too.

42mm stone leather loop.

I used to be 38mm Milanese.

Exactly what I will choose.
The blue is too bright, the black is boring.

Metal bands are too bold. I do not like them in general.
If I don't like the loop, I might order a classic leather band later.

Another topic to consider: I don't like scratching on my desk or laptop.
Most bands have the mechanism at the bottom of the wrist.
The loop does not.

I had to figure out what you were referring to when you said it was exclusive to the Edition version watch. I mistyped...where I typed classic buckle I really meant modern buckle. I completely forgot about the difference.

I really like the Space Gray SS, but honestly, this is the first gen :apple: Watch, I don't really wanna invest that much money on the 1st gen. I think I'll wait until 2nd gen to go with the SS, and I think it would be easier money wise, because I can just sell my 1st gen and then throw some in and upgrade to the SS. As of now, I want to get the Space gray sport.

I am completely torn. I WANT the Space Black SS, but not the link bracelet, and I don't want to pay $1100 if it's not what I want. I like how it looks with the blue leather or brown. I'd also like a classic buckle, but they aren't made in black SS.

I also really like the Space Gray Sport, but again, none of the metal bands have space gray, and I want the better quality metals and front glass. Space gray looks good with the blue and brown leather as well.

My wife on the other hand wanted the rose gold with pink modern buckle the second she saw it (wasn't it white originally?)... then we realized it was solid gold and knew it would be pricey. Even if it would have come in at $3500, she had already changed her mind, but $17k?? So now she still wants one, but in SS with the brown modern buckle for daily use and white sport band for working out/running.

Really hoping 3rd party options are available for bands, but wish I could just buy the black SS with black sport band. I mean why not, you can buy SS with a sport band.

That's a really good point! Will consider leather loop now!

Ok I am not going to allow myself any more changes I am getting the Tim Cook special :apple: Watch SS with white sport band. I may eventually pick up a brown or blue leather loop but for now I'm just sticking with the sport band.

Haha yes, I've told my self to stick to a certain model so many times. But due to the fact that we're still a month away; I know I will change it a few times ahha. This morning I woke up knowing I wanted a SS with Milanese. Now I want a SS with Black Sport.

Yesterday I wanted Sport Space Grey and the day before I wanted the one you currently want, AKA Tim Cook Special. Lol. Let me know if you change your mind a couple more times.

I found this useful

Who should get the Apple Watch Sport?

If you're into physical fitness and you want the lightest Apple Watch you can get; if you're going to be rough enough with it — or likely to lose it — and want the most affordable replacement option possible; if you're not sure about Apple Watch and want to try it out at the lowest cost-of-entry; or if you simply love the way the bead-blasted aluminum and those bright sport straps look, the Apple Watch Sport is for you.

Who should get the Apple Watch?

If you love watches and want something heavy but not too heavy; classic on the outside but ultra-modern within; made out of strong materials like stainless steel and sapphire crystal; and with the widest range of bands curated for any collection; or if you want a watch but aren't precious about your metals, the Apple Watch is for you.

Who should get the Apple Watch Edition?

If money is no object; if you're into haut couture, first class cabins, and 5-star or higher hotels; or if you simply want the first-run, first-expression product of Jony Ive and Marc Newson as smartwatch designers, get an Apple Watch Edition.

Here I go again. Second guessing my decision on the black SS model. I was watching the last 24 hrs of YouTube posts, especially the negative ones. Wondering if I should get the black Sport and save the cash for Gen 2.

I started watching the first intro video and I realized I do love them all. Different look for different situations.

Dang...I hope my head doesn't implode before I even get one on my wrist!!

BTW, my 5 year old wants an Apple Watch too. I think I created a tech monster!

I thought I was sure. But tonight I started questioning my certainty for the 1000th time.

I really really want the 42mm Apple Watch with Milanese Loop. Like, a lot. In my opinion, it's the best of all the combinations and is something I could wear in my day to day life without feeling out of place. I've been in love with it from the moment I first saw it.

But I could save $300 if I got the 42mm Space Gray Apple Watch Sport, use it for a year, and use that as an opportunity to save my pennies for the stainless steel and Milanese Loop in the second generation.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point. I'm really stressing out about this (needlessly).

LOL, me too. I actually have a headache now sitting on my computer reading reviews and and watching YT videos.

I like the black Sport, but I can't stand the band. I would have to upgrade the band.

About 10 months before the release of the iMac with the 5k display, I bought the previous iMac. A few months ago I bought a MacBook Air, and now the release of the thinner Mac Book. I bought my last Rolex Sub, and 8 months later the new Sub C gets released....

Will it be the same for the Apple Watch?

I am debating the same two watches. I think we won't know more until we see and try them on in person. Maybe the rubber band will feel better than typical Casio rubber bands? I am worried about how the Milanese Loop would feel if it wasn't in full complete contact with my wrist. Would it be too floppy? Of course, then there is the looks of the Space Grey vs the SS in person.
