Artist Rendition of Next Gen iPhone with Leaked Black Bezel

Wow, this was front page worthy? Slow day?

Regardless, this looks like a 3G with a case on it. In other words, this looks ugly as sh**.
 
that is really ugly! it just looks like any other boring mobile phone :eek:. The silver made it stand out. Still, I'll still buy it when it comes out :p But, generally apple :apple: fail to unimpress, so I'm glad this is only a photoshop image

Hogwash.

RIM continuously pushes out new phones with different designs... the Pearl, the Pearl Flip, the Bold, the Curve, the Storm... a selection. It's fine if you don't like RIM or want a BlackBerry, because the point I am making is that there is a selection available from RIM.

Palm is introducing the Pre. I have considered the Pre not much to write home about for so long, but as the Pre's release gets closer and closer, I am noticing more and more that the Pre is a heck of a device with some truly forward-thinking engineering. And guess what... Palm already has another device in the wings with a different design. Imagine that... again, you don't have to like Palm or want a Palm device, but they too support the argument that choice is good.

Heck, even the arch-enemy Microsoft supports numerous devices with many different design options with their mobile OS...

So what about Apple?

This is the way that apple does things, if you don't like the iPhone then don't buy it. There's only one macbook design, but you can get dozens of varieties of dells and HPs. Does that make Dell or HP better than apple?

The iPhone packs as much as possible into a sleek package. A slider or keyboard would bulk up the phone, if you want a real keyboard then get a different phone.

Apple tries to do one thing and do it right. And whether they accomplish that is up to you. I actually don't know why I'm typing such a long response to you, given the ridiculous nature of your post, work must really be boring me...
 
I kind of like the all black. the photoshop looks pretty good too. I can't wait to see what really comes out!

I totally agree. Apple doesn't have to come up with a revolutionary new design every year, they slowly evolve it. The iPhone has a design that has proven it works. People are used to it, it just looks like an iPhone. So there's no need to come up with a radical new design now. It's ok to adjust the design here and there but keep the basic formfactor and looks how it is - because it works. Apple might come up with a very different iPhone design at some time, just as the iMac got a radical new design from time to time, but please not every single year.
 
I don't think this is right. See how the metal is solid at the bottom of the first pic of the bare bezel? There is no room for the home button assembly in this area. And see how the bezel jogs to a lower level around that solid area? This indicates that a separate piece (plastic?) would be laid here.

I actually think that the pic of the bare bezel is upside down. The 'loop' that the photoshopper thinks is the earpiece may actually be the frame around the dock connector.

There has to be a reason the speaker was moved. Plain and simple, they wouldn't do it for nothing. I could care less if there was a camera on there...if there is, there better still be one on the back too. But they must have moved it for some reason. Maybe bigger batter? To fit the extra memory in it?
 
Well, my 2 cents, if they put the ear piece that high, I would assume one of two things:

First they put the earpiece that high because they are going to make the touch screen a little bigger. This maybe also because of a higher resolution camera thus a higher resolution touchscreen.

or

Second, they are going to put a camera on front, iSight, which would be awesome.

Either of the two, for me would be awesome. But, we'll see in about a week and a half!!!:D

ok....after the orendus black besel on the Macbooks...now that...

well...if they do so I ll stick with a white 3G ...

AND PLEASE bring the matte screen on the MBP 15.

Heck yes. Then just Flash, Java and internet sound and we're good to go! Oh....so hard to get those last three....
 
If the speaker is moved up so much, I think the device will be shorter. It just looks weird with it up so high. But kudos to the artist who said this was just photoshopped and didn't call it a leak to get people excited.

I agree with you. Look at the second pic. See the curved out spot on the lower right? Would this not simply be the spot for the on/off rocker? Also, on the "bottom", it looks like a couple of spots for sensors. I don't know, I think this might have been misinterpreted.

After having this pointed out to me, I'm inclined to agree with this too, it seems that the interpretation is upside down...

I'm not a fan of the lack of chrome, which I feel is a defining feature in the iPhone as it currently stands, and would be really missing if removed from the iPhone, leaving it looking a little too plain.

As my birthday is in late June, combined with working over the summer, I'm currently negotiating with my Dad to get a loan from him to buy a new iPhone at release...
 
why should we care

Can you make an artist rendition of my giving a crap? How about and artist's rendition of news worthy rumor? Thank god this guys doesn't work for Apple. By the way last time I checked any news from China is suspect. This is probably a bezel from one of the million iClones running around Hong Kong.
