"Flipping the bill"?

I'm not saying "Noah or Nobody" I'm just stating that Ashton isn't the guy. Let him pitch his "Nikon Zoom" cameras, etc. Great skin and nice teeth and a similar haircut do not make you a good person to play SJ.

I would have preferred Ryan Gosling or Matt Damon. But even a soap opera star would have been an improvement over Noah Wiley.

I thought he was good in the Butterfly Effect and Valentine's Day. It's a little unfair to say that 2.5 men tanked because of his acting - it tanked because the lead character and sole purpose of the show was 'let go'. That's like firing Hugh Laurie from House, Michael Hall from Dexter or Emily Deschanel from Bones and replacing them with a random actor!

I agree though that Kutcher's mannerisms are completely off although I've seen him have the same intensity in his eyes as Jobs had a lot of the time and I'd at least be interested to see him rise to the challenge. Sure a lot of us would love Noah Wyle to do it but most outfits producing a Steve Jobs film would likely want to distance themselves from Pirates of Silicone Valley so that they look like they're doing something 'new'.

This is the first I've heard of the show tanking. I don't pay attention to ratings and from the get go I thought the way they worked Ashton into the show was genius. The show is just as funny if not funnier.

Pbbbshshshshs ...

Yeah......they look so similar

Noah was incredible. You're nuts. Good movie, but kinda had a Atlas Shrugged kinda budget and feel. Like it could've been so much more. Don't get me started on Atlas... Good to see something get made I guess. Maybe now someone will see the real potential and get some real money behind the thing. But it still needs to be small time or up and coming actors.

Well... Now I started to wonder who is gonna play Steve Ballmer in this movie...

I do think the re-pairing of David Fincher as Dir and Aaron Sorkin, imho the best dialogue writer in Hollyweird today, could bring the angst to the character and drama to things we already know.
I disagree, at least with using Fincher as director. I love his work, but it's too dark and brooding for the story of Steve Jobs. Aaron Sorkin might work, though; he's makes some pretty slick dialogue, even if it is a little too Hollywood for me.

You know who'd make a good director? Brad Bird. He knew Jobs personally from Pixar, and he's already shown his live action chops with the critically acclaimed (and highly successful) Mission Impossible 4.

Ashton can't play anyone but himself. Strictly a one note actor who has no business playing this part.

Wow...

I said this should happen back in November with the first thread about the Sorkin screenplay. I think he really does have the look to make the movie believable as long as the director keeps a tight reign on him and true to Jobs personality and mannerisms.

1. Jim Carey
2. Johnny Depp
3. Ryan Gosling
4. Christian Bale (The Machinist, all you need to know)

This may sound off... But Jim Carey should do it...

Anyone who has ever seen Eternal Sunshine would know the man can act serious. He doesn't look exactly like Jobs but I feel he's a better actor, and one that can be incredibly inspirational.

The only issue is he's not a good fit for young Jobs.

If you want to make a popcorn blockbuster... Cast Ryan Gosling... The man looks good, is popular as hell right now, and can act his pants off.

Honestly the only person I think that could pull off directing this movie has long passed away: Stanley Kubrick.

His greatest film (in my opinion and many others) was 2001: A Space Odyssey, a movie about how technology changed us.

Another vote for Bale...

Just watched Laurel Canyon the other night and couldn't help thinking Christian Bale would be a great Steve Jobs, but might have trouble playing the younger Steve - but Ashton Kutcher, come on Hollywood, you can do better.

Ugh

Love Jobs. Love Apple. Can't see giving a crap about anything Kutcher. Outside of That 70's Show, he's sucked. I'll probably give it a chance and take a look but I have no expectations of a Noah Wiley performance.
