I would have never made the connection, but honestly, they are a pretty damn good match appearance wise

There is only one...

Christian Bale.

The only guy who can give you the arrogance, emotion, intensity.

Kutcher gives you "Huh?"

Prove me wrong, Ashton

This is the sort of project where I care more about the director than the lead actor.

I fully believe Ashton can do this, but he needs someone with a strong vision to guide him through it.

You may very well be right about that.

While I do think they look very much alike and Ashton seems to be a good fit on the surface, I'm not so sure he has the acting chops to pull it off. At least based on some of his work I've seen. Maybe he has been cast in too many goofball roles.

I hope he proves me wrong and does Steve justice. Maybe he just hasn't had the chance for a good role to challenge him and bring out all he can do. Or maybe he just needs a good director and an acting coach on set.

I like how they used the most Kutcher-resembling photo of Jobs, and the most Jobs-resembling photo of Kutcher.

In the right light I can look like Steven Segal. In the wrong light I can be mistaken for my aunts Doberman.

no, i mean, just no... unless it's a b-rated fictional account where bill gates, played by demi moore, gets to slowly ruin his life

This, this, this and more this! LOL This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time.

Bale's role in "The Machinist"; for which he only ate apple's, drank coffee and smoked; was fantastic. A great modern day take on "Crime and Punishment." If anyone likes movies similar to "Memento" and "Stay", check out "The Machinist". I still can/t believe Bale went to that extreme for a role, and then "beefed up" again for his next role. As someone who has been lifting for 20 years, the damage on your muscular system caused by dramatic weight loss (and gain), not to mention on the kidney's, is severe. There's no way he wasn't juicing for "Terminator: Salvation", in six months time to put on that much weight let alone muscle? Would explain the infamous rant with the DoP on set. LOL:

I disagree, at least with using Fincher as director. I love his work, but it's too dark and brooding for the story of Steve Jobs.

There's no darkness in a story of a renowned egomaniac, abandoned by his birth parents, who terrorized his employees, was kicked out of the company he founded, and was soundly thrashed by his major competitor? Hmmm...

3. Ryan Gosling
4. Christian Bale (The Machinist, all you need to know)

Those are two actors I thought had the look, some decent acting chops, and obviously, CB has the intensity, (off camera too :D )

So is this “indie” project the Fincher directed, Sorkin scripted film? Or is that the Sony project?

There is some darkness, but not the David Fincher level of it.

A total IDIOT playing the role of a genius...what else could we wish for? Mr. Kutcher (just like that other talentless Ben Stiller) is only successful because of the good ol' lobby that takes care of Hollywood so dearly.

In any case at least this will be an independent movie - the main one to be produced by Sony will be a totally different one.

Not to mention he has the acting range of a rock.

please no. The only good thing about Ashton being involved is that he would die at the end.

too soon?

Don't ask me how, but I got an excerpt from the script! Here it is:

Scene: Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs giving keynote speech.

Jobs: "Oh... and one more thing.... the iPhone 5 and PowerBook G5!"
Crowd applauds enthusiastically
Jobs: "Oh...and one more thing.... You've been punk'd!"

I have a problem with all this. Which is I can only see this turning into some 3D Hollywood block lustre thing.
I say this having watched SENNA, a truly amazing film giving real insight into the man and his beliefs and thinking.
Why can't a film about Jobs be the same? Why can it not be a documentary with rare footage of him. A story with the real man himself staring in it and with his real friends and colleagues.

But I guess it's on the money machine Hollywood band wagon now... I can only see this film being **** to be honest.

Bad choice. Kutcher may look like Jobs from a certain perspective, but his acting absolutely tanked a top rated '2 and a Half Men' show. He's also typically type casted as a goofy, comedic type in just about everything he has done. They should have gone after Noah Wyle again, who played Jobs in the Pirates of Silicone Valley in 1999. He looks like Jobs to an extent, and did a great job with Steve's mannerisms in that particular movie.

Of course the ratings are considerably higher under Kutcher than they were under Sheen, (11th place, 15.79 million this season versus 17th and 12.73 last season), but perhaps you have a different definition of tanked than other people.

Noah Wyle has already played Jobs. Why would he be interested in playing him again?
