Rally should have probably just gotten the more decent version figured out and out to the public without some unnecessary and worse intermediary.

It wasn't that. They did present their figured out version and the market rejected it. Had to take another swing with something that eroded margins but retained customers.

Must have been bleeding customers something awful to have to act so quickly.

I'm on T-Mobile, with about 10 lines (business plan)

But I fail to see why anyone is still on AT&T.

With T-Mobile being the cheaper option, and Verizon having a vastly better network than AT&T while still being cheaper, it astounds me that people are still on AT&T.

This is not meant as a personal attack, please explain why you wouldn't switch from them?

Just confirmed I'm supposed to be paying $240 plus taxes for 3 lines before my company discount.

Hopping on this new unlimited family plan asap.

Be Careful! Pretty sure I saw some fine print in the press release that no discounts would be allowed other than the military discount....

"Discounts: Plans may not be eligible for offers, credits, or discounts."

For me personally I get a massive company discount.

Otherwise I'd probably switch to T-Mobile.

For those who have switched to this (previous) plan, is that 22 gigs per line or per plan? I have 10 lines and after we average it out, we pay about $36 for service each on my current plan of 30 gigs. The problem is that we hit that almost every month.

Either way, with the direct tv discounted will be pay $28 month each so it is a savings.

I'll be sure to confirm although I'd assume corporate discounts can still be applied.

Unless it's a mobile share plan I assume it's 22gbs per line.

I hope so. I'm on the Unlimited plan that they rolled out and these new plans are currently more expensive by the autopay discount and the FAN discount that I lose if this is true.

Here is why I am staying with AT&T (at least for now)... For me the main reason is, I took advantage of their "free iphone 7 promo" back in Sept. I upgraded to the 7 plus 256gig but it is the same monthly credit divided over 24 months. So if I want to leave, I would lose $650 times two phones and I would have to pay off my phone at full price and my current phone would not be compatible with the Verizon network. So for those reasons it is not worth it for me to leave AT&T. I know things change and are constantly upgraded but I switched to verizon very briefly about 5 years ago and i barely got one bar inside my house. So I had to switch back to AT&T. And my husband's co-workers that have t-moble and sprint complain they get crappy reception at the office. So that is why I am staying with AT&T. It is not because I am loyal to them or do not know that there are better offers out there. I know t-moble and sprint would be cheaper but verizon would be a little bit more since I have 2 lines (both AT&T and verizon are $140 a month for 2 lines) and I get a FAN discount. So AT&T is cheaper for me than Verizon.

Every time these american data plans are presented i laugh:) look up at the skylines if you wonder where your money is going.
Unlimited 4g everything is about 17$ here

It's not black and white, you are comparing Apples and oranges.
The USA is much bigger than Denmark, hell, it's much bigger than Europe, so having all this (mobile) infrastructure is much more expensive.
There are a lot more providers in Europe than in the states.
These four providers here are the more expensive ones, you can get ones that are much cheaper than the 4 mentioned above.
I am also from Europe and if I get the more expensive ones I would pay >€50.
But, I myself have a prepaid one and are much cheaper off, guess you can find cheaper ones in the states as well.
We also had Neelie Smith Kroes the former European commissioner which started to make laws so that it's much cheaper to roam in Europe.
Mobile plans in the States might be more expensive but lots of other things are cheaper, for instance food, you pay a lot less tax in the States, and so on.

I have the grandfathered unlimited plan at $80/month. I want the Tethering, but it doesn't look like I'd be saving much.

If I Autopay with a credit card it appears its $95 a month for Unlimited Plus. Throw in the U Verse $25 Discount (which I do not see Uverse listed on ATT site) and I'd be saving $10/month. Although I'd get Tethering. Certainly not as great as they make it sound, unless I'm missing something.

As a 10 year customer of AT&T, we just switched to T-Mobile last week. We're saving so much money and the service has been the same. Peace out AT&T!

We're $40 less a month than AT&T's new plans and there were no activation fees. What a joke!

Same here! So far I have no complaints! I'd only consider switching back since if I could stack and employee discount!

Those prices are mindboggling. I live in a small country in EU and I pay 32.50/mo for unlimited data, unlimited voice, unlimited texts over the entire EU without roaming charges. No caps in my own country, and none in the EU for 60 days a year. After those 60 days, it is capped to 10GB/mo for data while roaming. And there are countries in EU that have even lower rates.

So right now I am still on the old unlimited plan. Thinking of switching to the cheaper unlimited choice plan. Does anyone know if the LTE speeds are slower?
[doublepost=1488193539][/doublepost]
3mbps sounds like a joke.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out if that is slower than my unlimited grandfather plan is. I'm assuming it is and not worth switching even if it is cheaper.

If my corporate discount applies I may be tempted to switch from my grandfathered AT&T unlimited data plan.

I'm in the same boat. Currently I receive %23 off my unlimited at&t bill.

Man, ATT just doesn't get it. Talk about arrogance. They refuse to move forward when even Verizon came up with something affordable. Funny coming from the first company who gave iPhone a chance.

They must have some debts to pay off or something.

It's a great question - I would LOVE to switch to verizon - at&t SUCKS. but they offer one important thing that verizon does not: you can be on the phone AND the internet at the same time on the LTE network. this is critical for my business. I think t-mobile offers this as well but they don't have near the network that at&t does.

then there's multi call functions, which are significantly better on at&t are significantly better than verizon. for instance: if i create a conference call between myself and 6 other people on at&t I can individually add and remove certain people. on verizon, once someone is in.. they are in and the only way to remove one person is to remake the entire call.

Also - mobile data is critical in my line of work. So I have both an iphone on at&t and an ipad on verizon. This way no matter where i am i have some kind of internet... if one has no signal the other usually has something. it's rare that both don't work. so if at&t has no signal, i can hop on the verizon hot spot and then enable wifi calling and my phone is back up and running.

when verizon introduces a phone that allows being on the phone AND the internet at the same time (without needing wifi) as well as better support for the iphone's multi call features, i'll switch. in the mean time i'm stuck paying too much for less service at a crappy company

Actually, the US is ever so slightly smaller than the EU (9.8 million square km vs 10.2 million square km). The amount of people living there is also larger (300 million vs 500 million) and because every country has its own providers, you would expect rates to be higher. Instead, you can get rates of about 1/3 that of the US that include unlimited data over the entire EU without roaming chargers.

So is the 22gb per line or total for all lines on the plan? Also, is the tethering only for the more expensive plan or both plans? I'm too tired right now to think about these things.

ROFLMAO, couldn't agree with you more, I was in Ruwi iand the Cell networks and speed blew away what is available in the states, cost was so much lower. Like I always say, Fat Cats Fing GREED and it just keeps getting worse.

AT&T grandfathered data plan is the only thing keeping me with them.

Europe as in Europe without Russia and non members!

Without Russia it's already quite a bit smaller.
