With all the iPhone talk, I can't believe it's only been out just a year. Here's my dilemma...I'm walking around with a Blackberry 7100t that I can't stand and I got in December 2004. Did I mention the thing is ANCIENT?

Anyway, I've been holding off for v2.0 of the iPhone and now it seems that pretty much 1 year to the day later, it's coming. Did I mention that the iPhone launch coincides with my wedding anniversary (June 29th) which makes it oh so easy to remember when it came out ;)

The real problem is that I read somewhere that AT&T has an exclusive on the iPhone for the first 24 months which means in just 12/13 months we could be buying the iPhone through T-Mobile, my current wireless carrier.

What do all of you think? Would you wait?

Umm, try 5 years...

Thank You AT&T Employees

No vacations? That's terrible!

I may just wait until later to upgrade to show my solidarity.

or

I could just promise to have my credit card ready at the checkout so that I will not impose any more than I have to...

No way, upgrading for stupid 3G and GPS, if its designed differently or even a bit thicker...EFF THAT!

I was first in line, then Chuck Norris gave me roundhouse kick and cut in front of me. So, I'm next in line.

You know, of course, that Apple pays Chuck Norris $0.99 every time he listens to a song......

Yay! My favorite time of the year WWDC.......cant wait till the stevenote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW someone on a different thread posted this and i thought it was a very cool idea.

Steve the Jokester

Watch Steve get up on stage at WWDC with thousands watching and pull up a keynote that says, "iPhone 2.0"...then fades into, "SIKE!". Hahaha...

and you think the L.A. riots were bad?

It's obviously going to be 3G, I thought we had determined that in the other 50 threads?

EDIT: Plus, over here in England some places are testing grounds for 4G. iPhone 3?

Not wanting a version-1 product, I held out until the 16GB model came out. Having spent over $500, it is hoped that it will last me until the third iPhone with 4G. GPS sure would be nice, but hopefully the new software update (even if requires a fee) will breath enough life into my iPhone to last another year. The ability to run resident apps will make fast Internet connection less of a priority.

Quite frankly, I don't care what the hell they upgrade on this phone, 3G I'm assuming (sweet), Gps would be nice, I can't imagine after all the hype about them adding gps that they would forgo it now, it would be a pretty big letdown on apple's part, which they rarely tend to do. Either way as I don't own one now theres hardly any reason for me to not make the big switch.

People are willing to change their 1st gen iPhone for a new one after they like paid $400 bucks for the first one?! I bought my unlocked Nokia N73 in August with an extra 3 years warranty for a grand total of $500 and I don't plan to change my phone in the next 4 years.

Ouch! I hope you really like your Nokia!

I think we got the point that its coming this summer. I would really like to hear some actual specs (other than what's already rumored). A 32GB model would be really nice. It would make my year-long wait to get an iPhone worth it. Version 1 was good, but I think version 2 will be great.

If the new iPhone looks anything like this... COUNT ME IN!

The stock of the activation company went down 40% today. Apparantly to get the $200 discount on an iPhone with ATT you have to activate AT ATT. One wonders if then activations will occur real time in Apple stores as well on the ATT network to be "competitive". One wonders if there will be an online version of activation concurrent with sale at online stores at ATT and Apple.

Given the CRUSH of sales likely, this should be interesting. Maybe the over the counter price will be HIGH to offset this.

Dear Apple,

Dont forget to add a flash to the 8 mp camera and a 2nd camera on the front for video chat. Copy and Paste. Flash support. And I will upgrade from 2g. If you forget this request I will not upgrade...

Thank you in advance,

Loyal Customers

Both Front camera and copy/paste will be in the new iPhone out in June.

I was hopeing for a rlease on June 9 or 10, but Oh Well.

For a V2 iPhone, I would break the contract and move over. If the V1 version was nice, I expect V2 is going to be superb. Apple wants and needs to keep evolving it to keep the competition far away. While we figured out a lot of what it will contain ..... I am sure that Apple is holding a few more secrets about V2 of the iPhone.

Break contract specially if given a price break.

I think that this is going to be a great device and Apple is going to correct most of the issues that existed in the 1st Gen iPhone.
I think that the phone will replace the 1st Generation phone and it will be offered at similar prices as what is currently offered.
One thing I am trying to figure out is why Apple has chosen to keep the iPod Touch one step ahead of the iPhone when it comes to storage.

If that's the only thing you're trying to figure out, you're in luck! Because I (and I'm sure many others) will help you - they add more storage to the Touch because there is more room in the Touch, since it lacks the phone modem which takes up as much space as the 16 GB memory chip in the 16 GB iPhone.

June 27th is the day. End of story. Set your clocks counting down now!

Thank the Lord! But what's the deal with the FCC? Perhaps they'll apply it at the perfect time so that the secrecy gives the day after WWDC or something like that...

These dates don't seem possible to me. My understanding was that we would find out about 6 weeks prior to release due to the FCC. A June 15th time frame would indicate a 16th (monday) or 17th (tuesday... more likely) which ironically is 6 weeks away from today.
