What is the difference between "Preorder Processing" and "Preparing to Ship"? My premier order status page says "Preorder Processing" which updated from "Preparing to Ship" sometime early this morning. My regular AT&T order stats page still says ""Preparing to Ship"...

This is basically my situation. I had no idea I was eligible for Premier (I get a bill discount as part of my university's alumni association, I'm assuming there is some connection.) I just went to att.com and ordered a phone and didn't know it had anything to do with Premier until the conformation email arrived an hour later.
For reference, I preordered a Space Gray 6 Plus 64 gig a few minutes before 3 AM EDT on Friday, and got the conformation email at 3:59 AM. Every time I have checked the order status page, I've been listed as Preorder Processing: Pending Confirmation. The order status on myATT has said In Progress the entire time.
mine is just like your pics but only shows processing preorders ...but i can track it via regular att status and it shows dates like yours on there
just cancelled mine - switching carriers. $50 bucks with VZ vs $80 with AT&T. I will end up waiting longer to get my phone but will end up saving money in the long run. gl everyone!
Did you order the 6 or the 6+? Keep us updated of your ship time and when you actually get the phone.

I know I basically gave up a month or so maybe more by cancelling my ATT order but after my trade in(iphone 5 32GB traded towards 6+ = $200) that VZ offers plus I get a $200 prepaid visa card...I get my new phone FREEEEEEEEE

Ordered a 128gb Gold iPhone 6Plus at around 2-2:30AM Pacific time (yeah I know, kinda late) lol. I have a premiere account because of a Coca Cola discount I receive. Got my confirmation email at around 5:30 AM and a confirmation for my last Next payment. There was a $1 and a $37 hold on my account and over the weekend those holds were dropped. The confirmation email said 21-28 weeks.
Since ordering my status on Premiere has said "Preorder Processing: Pending Confirmation" and myATT says "In Progress." Never had a solid shipment date.
My friend is a district manager for ATT in my area and I asked him about it and he said there's a 48 hour delay on the system and they're gonna be catching up soon. He told me I'd still be receiving my iPhone on launch day so that gives me some hope but if not he said he'll have one for me at one of this stores.

I notice that now on the AT&T Order Status page there is a * next to the date, which reads "Estimated shipping date range." That wasn't on mine before. Maybe they got tired of all the calls and emails.
Even though I ordered over the phone with a Premier customer service rep, the order number they gave me is not a Premier order number. When I put it in the Premier site it tells me there's no order matching that number. But if I use the regular AT&T site, it shows the correct info with a date range of 10/13 - 10/31. I'd imagine I would get it sooner since I only ordered a 6 and not a 6 Plus, but I guess we'll see.

Mine has 2 order numbers, I got emailed a premier one but when I log into my att account I can see the regular one.
They will authorize the entire purchase price more to make sure that it goes through. After a few days the authorization should drop off of your card

One danger with canceling the order is that your upgrade ability may be incorrect for a few days. This happened to me before when doing another order. As soon as you do the cancelation make sure that you call customer service to ensure that your contract date has been reset

Someone in this thread or the 6+ thread posted about opening a fedex account and we could be notified by fedex with shipping info (like when a p/u date is requested) before we get a tracking number. I created an account and had to call into Fedex to verify my identity. I was asking the lady about being notified before we receive a tracking number, she said that the first part of the delivery process is they request a p/u with all of our shipping info... Ideally this should pop up in our account. She said she is not up to speed on all of this info as this is not part of her job, she also told me that without a shipping number we should be able to search the system by our address...
Can someone more familuar with this give us a dummies guide to this... Also,now that I've set up a fedex and ups account will they automatically pop up in my account when AT&T (or whoever) requests a p/u or doI have to go searching for it?

So I preorder at 3:15 eastern time, when ordering it said my phone would be delivered in release date. I had a one dollar hold in my account immediately. At 6:47 am I got my first confirmation email saying 14-22 business days and I had the tax pending in my account of $52. Sunday my delivery date was changed from 10/31-11/11 to 10/13-10/22 or whatever. Now today the pending charge from the taxes is no longer pending nor did it hit my account. My assumption is if it doesn't change this week I will be getting my phone at the times shown. Sucks cause I'm expecting my first child and was pumped to test out the new camera. But my delivery date for the phone and baby are the same days lol.
I preordered at ~2:55a (6, 64 GB, Silver) on 9/12, received my confirmation email at 3:01a, and was given an estimated delivery of 9/18. On Saturday, 9/13, my estimated delivery was changed to between 9/25-10/2. I signed up for UPS My Choice, and is showing my phone is scheduled to be delivered on 9/18. So the premier sight is clearly hanging onto incorrect dates in their system.
Ordered through our corporate Tangoe website for ATT Premier orders at 12:30 AM PST. Received our internal confirmation at 12:57 AM.

It has you put in your name and address, which then looks up deliveries planned to that location. I am assuming that AT&T purchases the shipping and prints your label prior to updating their Premier site. I was surprised it worked, but after hearing in the other forums about it working, I figured I'd give it a shot. I had a friend look up his information, as he ordered it through premier prior to 3a EST as well. His 6+ has not been input into the UPS system, and AT&T has his delivery scheduled for 10/22 I believe.
Well. I tried, but ups my choice doesn't seem to work in Puerto Rico. Hopefully I'll get it at the least a couple of days after release.
I had this same problem with my iPhone 5. Ordered through premier and it gave me longer shipping wait times at first. Then, almost the day before release day it all cleared out and I got the phone at 3pm that day. Oh the joy!
I signed up for UPS mychoice today as well, so you sign in ti your account and you'd see it sitting there inmy shipments? Or do you have to search for it somehow?
I like this answer and I am gonna go with it....
