my iphone 3gs upgrade still on 11/24/2010 hope it will change. i can get an upgrade on my second line when i bought a nexus one ill switch sims when the new iphone comes out cant stand the nexus one anymore.

How bad is the Nexus One my son was looking at this for AT&T, however I cringe at the fact it would cost $529.99

I hear a lot of ppls stating the phone is not that good and Google stinks as far as support and service?

The phone is quite good actually. While many people have knocked the accuracy of the touchscreen, it's not as bad as other make it out to be. What is surprising is that the N1 is a tad narrower then the iPhone and that tiny bit of difference impacts typing accuracy. Since other phones, like the incredible are using the same screen as the N1 and don't have the accuracy issue, many folks believe its a software issue that should get resolved.

As for support, to be sure google had some major missteps early on but those issues are behind them now support is good You call a 1-800 number and get to talk with a human being, instead of dealing with support via email or a forum.

I just confirmed with ATT that I am eligible for a full discount on 6/28/10. I bought my 3GS on launch day. My monthly plan is $114 plus tax/fees.

I was threatening to cancel and asked to find out my contract dates for 5 phones I have with them (4 are on a different account) and complained about the two data plans and that there is no tethering available, etc. The person I was speaking with said that she believes tethering will be offered in June. I would take this with a grain of salt as she may have been telling me what I wanted to hear but that is what she said to me. I also learned that by 8/10, it would cost me $250 to get all 5 lines off contract which has me considering other carriers, in particular, Verizon. I am a huge Apple fan but I will take a look at the HTC Incredible phone. I do not know much about them as I never cared but I have a good friend who is a phone nut, that speaks highly of the phone.

Checked my upgrade eligibility....was set at 11/20/2010..
NOW I just checked again and they changed it to 5/20/2010!! That's a month sooner than everyone else...seems strange..they are giving me a whole month to decide if i want to hold onto apple or switch to someone else..?

Mine has always been 9/21/10 and has not changed :(

I have my fingers crossed because I really want to upgrade on launch day.

I just checked mine today and it still hasn't changed :(

My upgrade eligibility date has stayed the same throughout - 8/29/10. Which is fine by me. My 3GS will hold me off until then.

Not necessarily strange. I've been eligible since sometime in the ballpark of March due to the amount of my bill per month. I'd assume that May 20 is the date by which you'll have paid off whatever the subsidized amount of your phone was.

Mine's 11/20/2010.

I was in at AT&T store today, however, and I said that I heard some iPhone users' dates were being rolled back by 6 months to which the rep replied "yup." So hopefully they are just being slow rolling dates back (like last time they did this) and mine will be adjusted within the next month.

I'm still at 11/8/10. It will be interesting to see if they are changing people within a certain expiration in order to pump two more years out of us. I am going to be giving the 4th-gen and EVO a hard look when they both come out.

I think this is called karma. :D

It's called I know what you are referring to but makes doesn't relate in this sense at all (nice try though) and it's also called I don't care how much I have to pay I WILL get it AT LAUNCH.

Mine got pushed up from November 2010 to July 2010 :D

You can take advantage of our no commitment pricing Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade at a discounted price on 07/04/2010

I believe the $100/month requirement is voice plans, and does not include txt plans. Not sure if data plan is included, or early nights and the other little features.

I get the "$100 rule" and my costs look like this:

Family plan (I'm primary) $69.99
iPhone Data $30
Family unlimited texting ($30 or $29.99, not sure how they list it)
So technically I'm 1 penny away from $100 with the family plan core and iPhone data on my line.

Here's another twist. One of my kids lines was the primary (we activated them all at once and that one was listed but thought it was no big deal). This had the $69.99 "family plan" core package and the $30/month family text on it with no data or other plans assigned and that line was getting 12 month renewals. My line wasn't but of course it was just listed as a $9.99 sub with a $30 iPhone data plan.

Just a couple of data points to help zero in on exactly how this is calculated.

Got my phone on Aug 8th last year and have the date of Aug 8th which has not changed since Jan of this year.

waited in line launch day the last 3 years, since im the main line im always eligible every 12 months :D ... eligible 6/20/10.

So are the people who have 3GS the only ones who get early upgrade?

No it really varies a lot. As previously states it really varies by how much you spend a month, and having a FAN account helps as well. More than likely most people will be able to upgrade if the got the 3Gs on launch or anytime before.

I have a fan account, been with AT&T since 1994. I called 611 and they knew nothing, or pretended not to. Our bill is $200+ so they better be Rollin me back!!!
