AT&T Confirming Shipment of iPhone 4 Pre-Orders

Has anybody in large Cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, New York City gotten any tracking numbers?

Yes, but they hire extra people in the hubs to help for the holiday season. I doubt they will for a one day onslaught. That said, I worry less about fedex than AT&T and their servers for activation. I think letting fedex deliver them on the 23rd would be brilliant since it would kill some of the I'll feelings about the pre order day fiasco and would considerably lessen the load on AT&T by spreading the load on their servers between the 23rd (preorders) and 24th (in store pickups).

That won't happen. FedEx can handle the load perfectly fine.
 
Ordered around 2pm on 6/15
On att order status I'm still showing ordered on 6/16 with status In Progress
Received the CSS and Recent att Order emails
Expecting status to change soon :)

Those were my circumstances today before mine was shipped out, so I imagine yours will be later, too. Don't worry. They can ship them out as late as Wednesday.
 
It seems as if maybe those shipping early are farthest away from the 2 warehouses (Dallas, TX and Memphis, TN)??
 
AT&T Emails

I ordered about 6:00pm est from AT&T website. Ordered 2 iPhones and one Nokia for a family plan.

My order status says In Progress and that I ordered on the 16th, even though I ordered on the 15th.

This morning I got 3 emails from AT&T about CCS stuff.

I just got another email from AT&T asking me how I like my new phone. It is referencing a Samsung phone I got 2 years ago, not the new Nokia I just ordered!!!

The Nokia has not shipped yet either... It says In Progress just like the two iPhones.

Way to go AT&T. They are screwing everything up.

So, I wonder what is going to happen to people who just missed this nebulous cut off like I did?

When do we get out iPhones. Are we in the second shipment as indicated by those who ordered from Apple??

You think they could be more clear about the whole thing.

One other thing that really chaps me off is that there are extra iPhones that people can stand in line for on release day.

If there are people who put up their money on the 15th, I don't think they should be herding out phones to people who just got in line that morning.

Sorry... Cut them off and ship the pre orders!!!

Same here. My order went through at 5:31am on 6/15. ATT status says I ordered 6/16 and In Progress.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
 
Ah cool. Just trying to see if there was some kind of pattern, but probably not. Everyone has free overnight shipping right? That was standard with the AT&T order?
 
I ordered on 6/15 at 5:51am CST and I still don't have any update on att.com.

Ironically, my order online has a date of the 6/16.

WTH!

Everyone who had an order that got pushed back till the 16th, don't worry, mine was too. Mine shipped earlier today around 5:30, you'll likely get yours too.
@mdelaney123 I got an updates CSS this morning and an email regarding one of my old phones today too, even though my iPhone shipped. I wouldn't worry.

Hi everyone,
Ive been reading all posts and havent seen one issue adressed.. IPhones are shipped with signing required at delivery. If this is not an option for somebody and Fedex isnt giving tracking details how do we authorize the pre-sign option? Any thoughts...

It is my belief that ATT doesn't require a signature for FedEx shipments unless you've had problems in your area before with stolen or missing ATT shipments.

I'm thinking a signature will be required for this shipment. Fedex will leave an attempt to deliver notice on your door. They will attempt to deliver 3 times. You can sign the back of the attempted delivery notice, stick it back on your door, and when they come back, they will leave it on your doorstep. I wouldn't recommend this considering everything that has happened so far. You can also contact them after they attempt delivery and pick it up from the local Fedex hub if it is near by. I think you are going to want this "handed" to you.

Mine Still not showing shipped

Hi there

I ordered 2 units through the Premier site (16bg and 32gb) both on the 15th early. Both are showing the correct order date but still show processing. Anyone else with Premier getting tracking numbers yet ? I am in CO

leave a $10 dollar bill and note on your door and ask fedex to leave with your neighbor or on your back porch :)
