AT&T Confirming Shipment of iPhone 4 Pre-Orders

Well if you actually get a white one and I receive the black one I ordered, maybe we could trade
Still no email confirm, shipped at 5:30. I wouldn't worry. the last email I got from them was them asking how I liked my new phone that I got LAST YEAR. Haha
All this crap is pissing me off a little. I guess someone has to be first and someone has to be last.
Haha that sounds like AT&T alright. I talked to an AT&T cust rep today to see what was going on with the orders and stuff like that and she told me that my order could get to my house between the 25th and the 28th even though I order monday morning and my status says Shipped and that it was shipped on 6/17/10. I'm hoping she was just saying that because she can't tell me that it's going to be delivered on the 24th and then it's not. I just want the FEDEX codes to start activating so I know that it's actually making some movements towards being delivered to me. haha
Reading this thread throughout the day has clued me in to just how random this process really is. People that ordered far after me have already received tracking numbers while I'm still stuck in "backordered" status. This supports my earlier conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason to this, and that our getting phones on the 24th has everything to do with someone in the distribution center randomly picking our order number out of a stack and pairing it with a phone/tracking number.
I'm done obsessively checking my order status multiple times per day (though far less often than some, I suspect). If it comes, it comes. If it doesn't, my next pre-order will be through Apple.
God help any of us that are going in to do an upgrade swap on the 24th. I hope it really can be done over the phone.

Haha same here, man. I don't think they will till the 23rd is what I've heard because of overnight shipping.
I've seen some others like that. I would guess you're gonna get a sim, considering you're going to need it...

That's fine. I'm just worried about getting shipping information on the 23rd and then its estimated delivery date be like the 28th for some retarded reason. Next year I think I'm going with Apple. AT&T really doesn't seem to have their **** together. People who preordered through Apple have been able to track their shipments as soon as they shipped. I'm really hoping its overnight delivery though and that you're right. The person I talked to today said that my phone was "parked" at the warehouse and apparently that's a good thing because that's the step right before they assign information to the shipping codes so I can start tracking my order. Again, I talked to someone at AT&T so there's a really high possibility that it's just bull **** but I'm hoping for some good news either tonight or tomorrow morning. haha
OH COOOOOL!!! I ordered on the 15th before the cutoff and Apple had a Delivers on the 24th date. One night it said "ready for shipment" and then it went back to "not yet shipped" as of an hour ago with NO EMAIL or anything it has been set to CANCELED. ****ING LIVID RIGHT NOW.
Imma be uber pissed if I don't get my phone on the 24th, I've never had an iPhone before and this is like my dream come true.
I still think there is a reasonably good chance we all get ours on the 24th because that's what my order confirmation said when I first printed it out, and it has a tracking number, so now it's just a looooooooooonnnnnnnngggg 3 day wait for my shiny new i device! I totally hope you're right, dude. I really hope that we're all being unnecessarily paranoid about this all. I think if we have the shipping code and our orders say shipped that there is a good fighting chance we'll get our phones on the 24th. I'm sticking to that theory. haha
sweet, just got off work and mine was taken off backorder status. It doesn't say it was shipped, which I am guessing is normal.
I do not have an e-mailing confirming a shipping or anything, so who knows.

Apple canceled, but AT&T came through with a shipping number via UPS?! with a **** date of 6/21. all is well in the world again, whew i was ready to be reallll pissed with this fiasco. i didnt think i was one of those obsessive fanboys until i say CANCELED instead of Delivers on the 24th

m after 14 hours & 42 minutes later. I received my email confirmation last night 6/20/10 that it was shipped via Fed Ex and my expected arrival date is Wednesday 6/23/10. I just checked where it is sitting right now...Anchorage, AK...so it will be interesting to see if Fed Ex will be holding my shipment till Thursday 6/24/10 but if I do receive it on Wednesday 6/23 I'll be sure to let you all know

Congrats to all of the folks that have tracking numbers and delivery/shipping dates. I was one of the first to order 2 iPhones - about 4:45 a.m. on the 15th. Still shows in progress. No tracking, no order, no nothing. Got an email just now from AT&T welcoming me to iPhone 3GS and offering me tips and tricks on how to use it.

No excuse. The meltdown of last week should never have happened - I really don't care about demand. I just don't. You want the exclusive rights to the iPhone? Learn how to handle the demand or step the hell aside. Seriously - it makes me angry. Anyone who ordered first deserves to know that they are going to get their iPhones. If Apple's site was working at the time - yeah, not happy with that either, then I would have ordered through them.
What I've learned will serve me well next time. No more worrying about preorders and mailing. Next time I wake up at midnight and I wait in line. I've waited in line for each of the iPhones previously and thought this time I should be different because of it being released on a Thursday and because of all the talk of preordering. But I know that I can't make a call with my iPhone so why would I put so much trust in the preordering process?

I ordered my iPhone from Apple and today, my current phone is not working.
My voicemail now says "voicemail has not been set up for this number". I guess I'm without a phone until thurs. ???
Anybody else have UPS as their carrier? Everyone I've read so far has said that theirs is being sent via FedEX. Also, mine gives me a ship date and a tracking number, but still shows In Progress. God I hope that Brown ships it on the 24th.

Get this, i got an email a few minutes ago from them stating, Let's talk about your new iPhone, blah blah blah... We hope you're enjoying your new iPhone 3GS???? WTF???? i ordered the iPhone 4 on tuesday afternoon around 2:55 PST. didnt get an order confirmation email till Thursday.
Finally, thank God i finally get a shipping tracking number from them, its almost been a week!!!! but its from UPS??? shipped out 6/21/2010, but they told me they were gonna ship it FEDEX!!

hmmm...This is all so random and chaotic its hard to keep track. This thread in particular makes my head spin because if you charted who ordered when and from whom and who got shipping dates, and emails, and whom went from backordered to not, and so on, the chart would make no freakin' sense whatsoever.
I last refreshed about an hour ago on AT&T's web site, and as of yet my Tuesday @ 4:45pm EST (1:45pm PST) order has NOT yet shipped, but also never backordered. So why does the guy who ordered an hour after me already have his info??
It's all so bizarre. This this point I think I've resigned myself to hoping it all works out and the phone shows up on Thursday as planned. But if between now and then (or even on Thursday itself) it does not happen... I'm not gonna be too upset either. Watch me bust AT&T's balls for some of that money back, though.
Anyone that has had theirs ship (especially with earlier ship dates) had their tracking number come up in the system yet?
