Spectrum Mobile is $45 per month with all taxes and fees included. And it's no contract. This is their way of competing with T-Mobile. Magenta Max has already had this for a few months. And T-Mobile’s the only carrier with taxes and fees included in their pricing.
Wow, removing limits on their "Unlimited" plans. What a genius idea.
Well the whole plan before I left as a tech was to use the cell phone infrastructure to start selling customers Broadband internet through small boxes that could be placed anywhere in the house without piggybacking any city utility whatsoever.I'll bite!
Unlimited should mean "no limits"
And yet... throttling is a speed limit... which is... by its name... a LIMIT
That's why people are annoyed by that word.
What these companies are really saying is: "It's unlimited... but actually there are some limits..."
But good on AT&T for creating an "Elite" Unlimited plan that isn't throttled. High five. ✋
I'm worried about the future though. Once AT&T finally gives people unlimited amounts of data at unlimited speeds... where can they go from there? There are no more upgrades to sell people.
Well I guess they could just raise the price...
(and yes... I know "Unlimited" in this context has always meant the amount of data... I'm just fooling around...)

Well I'm shure the fine print says unlimited data, not unlimeted speed for unlimited data, somwgere else they would be sued every day. Unfotrunatly the poring an long winded fine print needs to be read utherwise the thinly vailed ad, ehm I mean the plan name will fool anyoneI'll bite!

I supect the hotspot limitation is so that people don't use the unlimited hotspot to replace home internet and thus unnecesarely loadid shifting data to the rather limeted rf the cariers have to play withHot spot data remains limited to 40 GB. Pathetic.
Ouch an I thought Norway was expensive here ve get Unlimited date (whether on hotspot or on the device) (limited to 3Mbps after money data usage passes 100GB) únlimited minute/sms/mms for ~$65/month all applicable fees and taxes included. The 5G rollout will not be completed untill next year tho. and ofc we have rome like home when we are in the entire EU+Switzerland (limitid to 40GB/month) not a bad deal right?Plus you pay taxes and fees, which can push it over $100 depending on where you live. This is a major reason why I stick with prepaid.
Always amusing when relatively tiny countries brag about cell rates, but never fuel prices as an example. Italy the size of Arizona England the size of Alabama, have quite different simple infrastructure compared to US. Europe has plenty to brag about, silly comparisons like this not so much. You're saying you have a 40GB limit using hotspot in the US? 😂 LMAO!
Here in Italy you can get a 100GB sim prepaid plan for ~ $ 12 a month, and you're free to use the data as you like. Oh, and it includes unlimited free phone calls and sms 😉
I wondered the same. AT&T press release says “upping the video resolution to 4K Ultra High Definition”>Adds 40GB Hotspot Data and 4K HBO Max
Isn't it adding 4K streaming for everything, not just HBO Max?
Fingers crossedDoes an iPad on the new unlimited elite get the same 4K streaming or is it stuck with 480p like today
You might want to look up what a monopoly is. Verizon used to bundle their Go90 service with their plans (before they shuttered the service). If verizon owned a legit streaming service, you can bet they would include it in their plans.Definitely not a monopoly.
You know what Verizon can't do? Offer HBO Max to its customers for free.
I was thinking of switching to give them a try. I've been with AT&T since before the Sabertooth Tiger died out. Things at AT&T are changing, and I'm not impressed.T-Mobile is the 5G King right now. AT&T and Verizon are going to have to heat things up in other offerings or they will bleed customers to T-Mobile.
You go a little farther back with them than I do -- I was a Cingular customer in the late 90s that got pulled into AT&T Wireless when Cingular was acquired (if my memory is serving me).I've been with AT&T since they were AT&T Wireless before Cingular, then back to AT&T! I think this is the first time ever they have upgraded a plan instead of creating a new plan with more perks and thus, charging more.
T-Mobile still lacks reliable coverage, at least in MN. I'm using the free "test drive" feature to compare to Verizon and, yes, when you CAN get 5G, it cannot be beat currently. That said, there are far too many times where I drop down to EDGE or even "no service" and when you get to 1-2 bars (which happens quite often) the service might as well be non-existent because ping is so high and data is below 1mbps.T-Mobile is the 5G King right now. AT&T and Verizon are going to have to heat things up in other offerings or they will bleed customers to T-Mobile.
T-Mobile is offering a free 30 day test drive for those who have an esim in their iPhone.I was thinking of switching to give them a try. I've been with AT&T since before the Sabertooth Tiger died out. Things at AT&T are changing, and I'm not impressed.
If you have the money to pay off the phone, put it into an interest bearing account and set it to auto pay. No cost to do that and you have access to the cash balance in case of an emergency.
