First attempt to add U200 worked for all 4 lines....thats 800 extra minutes each month for life! All it took was 10 minutes on hold and a five minute conversation!

I must have been lucky. I got TMS4 and U200 added to both lines on the first try.

My question around this is, who are these codes actually for? Apparently they can be added to any FAN account, but who is suppose to actually get these codes and how?

Just tried. Person checked with their manager and was told that those codes were expired. I'll try again later tonight.

The extra minutes would REALLY help if I can get them.

They fed you a crock of S.

Try late at night, and you'll get someone who knows what they're doing, and will have them added.

Has anyone obtained either code over the past two days?

I'd be more interested in U200, but TMS4 would be nice also. Right now I'm on the 200 text messages for $5 plan. i don't know that I'd ever use more than that.

I have read pretty much every page of this thread. Just have 1 question before I try to add TMS4 Txt Msg for $8.99

I have the Family Plan (3 iPhones) .. Two 1st Gen iPhones & My 3G iPhone

As of today, I have the $20 unlimited text for all 3 phones.

One 1st Gen User rarely texts. She could get by with the standard 200 texts included with original plan.
Second 1st Gen User, 1500 texts would be sufficient.
For me, 1500 texts would also be sufficient.

Would it be beneficial to remove the $20 unlimited, and add TMS4 to the 2 lines who actually use text messages?

That would put me at $17.98 for 3200 texts for 3 phones. (1500 + 1500 + 200). So really I'm only paying an extra $2 for unlimited. I should probly stick with unlimited, right?

Does that make sense?

First try got it added at like 9:45am this morning. Was simply nice and polite, told the lady I had a corporate account and that my HR person gave me this code for 1500 text messages for 8.99. She asked for the code put me on mute for a few minutes while she worked it out and came back on the line and said she had done it!

I'll probably try the U200 code in a few days.

I'm in a CARE market, BTW.

If it were me, I would stick with the unlimited for $20. You never know if you might for some reason add a 4th line or maybe the useage habits of the first person will change. For $2, I'd just stay where you are.

Yeah, I'm thinking that makes the most sense. It didn't occur to me the reality of the situation until I actually sat, typed it out, and looked at it from a total point of view.

If it were just me, the $8.99 for 1500 is way better than $15 for 1500... but with the other line on it... I'm only saving $2-3.

I think I'll stay with the unlimited for $20.

So what's the best option if I'm in a family plan, 1 iPhone and 2 non-iPhones? Can you share the 1500 between all phones on the plan?

Text messages assigned to one line can't be shared between phones.

The best plan really depends on the amount of texting you do. AT&T has a unlimited family texting plan that covers all of your lines for $30/mo. Otherwise the plans are:

$5/mo - 200
$15/mo - 1500
$20/mo - Unlimited

So you really just need to know how many you're going to use. If you're going to use less than 200 on each line, then that's $15 a month. But if you need Unlimited on one line and then 200 on the other two lines, you might as well go for the $30 family plan.

I'm going to buy my wife an iPhone soon and switch her over to AT&T and 200 text messages are plenty for her. I won't do the 8.99/1500 simply because she doesn't need that many and it's almost twice the cost of the 200 plan. I might try to do the 3.99/250 plan.

Now all thats left for me to do is to buy a couple of used phones on the cheap, have the IMEI's assigned to the accounts and switch down to the $15 MEdiaNet plan.

That's what I thought. Have to see what my wife and daughter will use I guess. Thanks! :)

I'll start with an apology...i've read a lot of these posts, but not all of them.

Is this limited to just premier members, or those who have FAN accounts?

I just switched to At&t, no work connection, would this work for me? I only ask because you could do stuff like this to sprint and get quite the add ons for free...

again, i'm sorry, i didn't know if this would work if i called up...thanks in advance for not flaming :)

How do you know which market you are in?

Premier account is basically the same as FAN account. I doubt you can get it added on unless you upgrade your account to a premier account first with your work email. But I guess you can call and try.

Tried to add these within the past few minutes Apparently AT&T is "updating their system" so I'll have to wait.

I called 3 times and each time as soon as the rep came on the line they said "Unfortunately my computer is down if you would like to call back and try another rep I advise you do so as I can only help you with general information right now." I was hoping to get these codes added late at night when more people seem to be having success.

heh, I just got off the phone with some stupid CSR - she told me that U200 was a "scam being perpetrated by disgrunted [sic] AT&T employees." I already have it on my line and I was going to add it to the other two lines on my family plan, and she threatened to remove it from my account.. the idiot also said that she was going to report the person who added it to my line. I guess I'm calling later on tonight - I loathe AT&T..

why? for trying to get them to add a code for free min that you aren't supposed to be eligible for? I'm sorry but you've got no sympathy for me.

I havent had success yet with either u200 or TMS4.... but I can't say I loathe them for not doing their jobs and not adding them.

Uhh... did you even read his post? He is already eligible for it, as he wouldn't already have it on his line if he wasn't. He can add it to his family plan, which he is able to do. There is nothing in his post that says that he isn't eligible for it at all..

I was concerned about that myself when I tried to add u200 to my other line. The person who added it originally said it would be on both lines, but that didn't happen. I called back a few weeks later and explained that it wasn't added to the 2nd line, at first the guy acted dumb about the codes, but when I explained again that I already had it on one line he said "oh, hold on 1 minute while I get that taken care of." Now I have it on both lines.

Guy at AT&T store told me it was $20 for unlimited family text plan...
