Also consider calling again to have them add u200 for an additional 200min for free :cool:

No I wanted TMS4...1500 for 8.99. I called back and they said it was for just my phone. I don't need 1500...oops.

Yeah I was going to do that...was going to wait for a bit though. :)
 
That person fed you a lie. It can be applied, but as already mentioned, you must have a FAN account for that discount to be applied. Plus you need to tell them that this feature code is to replace the existing text plan that comes with the iPhone. So call back, tell them to drop the existing text plan for your iPhone, add this one for your iPhone, and if you got the name of that person that fed you the tale, mention that to them, and let them know that you are not happy with being told something like that to someone who has a Premier account with them.

In short, call them out on their 'note' and see what they did.

It's amazing. That's exactly what I did, and the guy I spoke with the second time went through looking at my FAN and trying to decipher what he was reading, then said he'd try adding TMS4 to the iPhone line; when it worked, he verified that the pre-existing 200 msg plan had been removed, and finally told me I should be good to go. How something like this could be so murky that it could be misinterpreted and/or misrepresented so liberally within a single organization is...well, amazing. Not to repeat myself or anything. Now we'll see if somebody shows up trying to repo my car or something. :rolleyes:
 
It Worked!

I just got off the phone with ATT , they added TMS4 which is 1500 texts to anybody (unlimited to Blackberry's) and added u200 and got 200 bonus minutes on each of my 3 lines = 600 minutes !! ... don't give up people .. although this was my 1st try

I'm still working on the U200, and I'm running out of luck too :eek:
 
Yea i couldn't believe it ... at first she asked what the code "TMS4" is for .. when i said 1500 text messages .. she replied that 1500 text messages would cost $15 monthly ... i mentioned that a co-worker with the same discount had this code applied and asked her to look it up ... she ended up applying the code and informing me that it was better than my previous $15 (1500 text message feature) because it also included unlimited txts from blackberry to blackberry ... then i decided to push my luck for the U200 code .. i said that i also saw that code on his account and if she could give that a try .. she was really helpful and applied it to each of my 3 lines.... i guess i really lucked out ... good luck!
 
i honestly just want to try the U200 code. i do not need txt, will see how it goes, thanks!
 
hmmmmm a girl csr answered and i tried to do U200 code but they said a sales agent at the store can only do this... :(

tried again and got another female csr and this time they called the store with me online...ooops. no go oh well. nice try i guess.

Keep trying on that, but just be careful, because some CSRs know about that code. But the agents at the store know less about it than the reps you're talking to! so just keep calling back until you get someone who knows what they're doing and talking about.

Well, i will tell you from first hand experience. i have a 15% discount from where i work, and i read about that $8.99 code online so i called and asked, them about it. I told them my hr dept at work told me to use this code for an sms discount. she never doubted it, just took her about 15 mins to change it, but it worked and on my bill. i now have 1500sms for 8.99 as opposed to 5.99 for 200 wich is a rip off. but yeah ive done it.
 
just had a few questions. I got u200 and TMS3 added a little while back but the u200 code doesn't seem to appear anywhere on my online user account. TMS3 shows up just fine. any ideas?

and I'm also about to get a full retail replacement for my 3G cause of a crack near the charging port.. but since when this is done, you have to select your iphone plan all over again, am I going to have to add my FAN and feature codes back again??

oh and also for the TMS3 code, what does B2B mean? hahah.

Here's my issue: When I was 19 I went to the local ATT store with my friend who worked at the local PUD, which is owned and regulated by the State of Washington. We were both looking at getting phones and new accounts, and my friend told the rep at the store that he worked for the PUD and was eligible for the FAN discount (15% off). We both told him that we'd be back soon to get a phone and thanked him for his time. I came back alone a week later and got signed up for a 2 year and a new phone, and the same guy helped me. He asked me if I worked for the PUD and I said yeah, and he added the discount to my contract without ever verifying my employment.

Flash forward 5 years and 2 more contracts and I still have the fan discount and I've never worked for the State of Washington. I just got my 3G and I wanted to add U200 and TMS4 but each time I call they tell me to go to the ATT website and verify my eligibility with a work email. Obviously I don't have a work email. My account shows that I have a FAN account. Can't they just add the codes over the phone? What are my options right now?

They're just giving you a hard time. That's all.

99% of us who have added these codes to our account just called in and told the rep to add the codes to our account. That's it.

No email or fax proof of work letter or whatever bs is needed.
 
I checked and am eligible for a premier account. I'm going to buy an iPhone tomorrow and wanted to know if I can get any discounts added. I know about the codes but can I do that in store? ... I doubt they'd know but I'm not sure.

If you're meaning the Apple Store, no you can't, and in fact, the FAN must not be on the phone if you are getting it at the Apple Store. They'll just tell you to go to ATT.

If you're meaning the ATT store, I'm not sure on adding the FAN there. More than likely not, as you can add that online. As far as the codes, no. You can't add them at the store. You'll need to call in for them, as you'll be dealing with a different group than the normal CSRs that everyone else calls in for.

I went to the ATT store and bought my iPhone and set up my plan with my FAN. BUT it was a hassle. My FAN is 25% and for whatever reason they did not think it was correct.

I went to the online premier biz site and put everything in the shopping cart. The shopping cart shows how the discount is applied. I printed this out and brought it to the store. Even when I showed this copy to them they still were not sure. They said they have never seen the data plan discounted and the $25 off the iPhone. Also activation fee waived.

They finally just put it through BUT they couldn't show me what it was going to break down to. I had to pay full retail for the iPhone. So I know this is all gonna get messed up. I even called customer service a few times and they could not tell me how it would be broken down. also they felt the discount was too high and told me if it was allowed it would NOT apply to the data side.

i kept telling them the shopping cart shows how its broken down and i just wanted confirmation... i have to wait for my first or second bill to see if it all went through correctly.

i say do everything online, no questions...
 
One call and U200 / TMS3 Added

I'm a long time ATT Wireless customer with a FAN number from my company associated with the account. I have 1 3G iPhone and 1 Moto on a Family plan.

Today I was working with ATT customer service on a billing issue. When I was done I related that 'I'd received an internal email from my Telecom Dept. noting that U200 and TMS3 were available to employees and was directed to call ATT on this.'

I asked them to add U200 (200 free minutes) to my account. Their response after putting me me on hold for a few minutes, was that it was added (without challenge or issue.) I then asked for TMS3 (250 Txt mssg) for $3.99. This they were able to immediately add.

When we were done I asked if U200 could be associated with both my lines (I have a family plan with my wife) and as I had to run to work, would they let me know.

I received a txt message shortly after that U200 was assigned to both my numbers.

Overall, I have always been happy with my ATT Customer Service experiences. I want to thank everyone out there who posted and provided guidance in how to secure these added services.
 
:confused: i tired to add the codes and the rep told me that I couldn't and those codes were errors that were sent out to our HR....
 
i just tried to add tms4 and u200 to me and my girl's iphone family plan

the rep told us that the tms4 plan can not be added to iphone plans after talking to her supervisor..

and the u200 plan can not be applied individual lines in a family plan.. so what she did was add it to the entire plan.. giving us 200 bonus minutes across the entire family plan.. making it 1600 instead of 1400

i don't know how you guys got them to add the tms4 to iphone plans because the system said can not add code to device or something.. and she went to ask her supervisor and found out it does not work with iphone plans..

this was from two different reps telling me the same thing.. we might try again at the retail store .. but it's not looking good..

It can be done. I have it on my iPhone, and mine is on a family plan. you have to tell them to take off the text messaging portion of your plan and replace it with TMS4. It can be done.

As for going to the store, they won't be able to do anything about it, as you have a Premier account due to your FAN. You'll need to call the number for FAN accounts/Premier accounts, and have them do it. If they can't, call back again and ask for the same thing to be done. You just need to get to a person who knows what they're doing.

well i tried again for both codes and no go. the "Supervisor" explained to me that under my FAN it is not eligible. Said if I could have someone from my telcom area from my company to call their contact with ATT corporate to verify what is going on. Would not budge and even said just because you have a code does not mean we you can add it or something like that. i did not want to press my luck...its been noted on my account that i've called 2 times before. so i'm done with it.

Yay.:D I called again and a man answered. I told him about the codes and he said those were old... then I lied and said a friend added them a couple weeks ago. Put me on hold for a bit but he said he added the u200 and TMS3.
 
tried again last night.. after entering our phone # .. took me to business services... the lady tried twice to add tms4 but system will not allow her.. even deleting the old txt plan does not allow it to be added

however.. through all this shinanigans.. we were able to get 150 + 50 free minutes added to our 1400 family plan making it 1600 and on top of that.. we got he u200 added on each line also..

so our 1400 family plan just became 2000 minute for no extra.. now if only we can get tms4 to work....
