Are you saying the FAN discount only applies to the Apple iPhone 3G and NO OTHER PHONE or plan? How about the text messages or data plans? Does the discount come off of those as well as the minute plan?

What he is saying is that the FAN discount applies to the iPhone 3G only and other non-iPhones. The original iPhone is excluded because you had to purchase the data plan separately and it was already at a discounted price. Since the data plan is included in the 3G, the FAN applies to the entire plan as a whole, and the discounts for the text messages are per the FAN, not added as a separate feature, then discounted.

I'm not sure if the FAN can be applied to other packages (MediaNet?). If part of a family plan and the 3G iPhone is primary on the family plan, you're set. otherwise, I'm not sure.

First off you need to have a FAN number, there is a link somewhere earlier in this thread that you can check to see if you qualify.

Then once the FAN is set up just call and add the codes

Also, the company i work for does have an account with ATT and we get 10% off our bill, does this help with these codes or what?

One of the kids that works for me however, has his college linked through ATT and gets 20% off.......wish I could get ATT to give it to me as well...........

Hate to say it, but have a look back at pages 1 - 2 of this thread. You'll get a good definition of what FANs are.

My experience in adding TMS3 to both Iphones on my account.

I called customer service, told them HR gave me a promo code to save money on my texts because my companies FAN doesn't give any discounts on the text plan, only the data and voice plans.

The CSR said she didn't have authority to add and put me on hold. She came back and said her manager couldn't add it either but she would open a ticket to have it added.

A few hours later I got a text saying my ticket was resolved and when I looked online both lines had the TMS3 added.

Very painless experience.
 
I finally found out what he FAN thing is.........now how do i go about activating it and getting my discount once I purchase my iPhone? I do not have a work email address and that is all I see on the ATT website.

In order to have a valid FAN account and receive a discount, your employer must have negotiated with ATT; this means that you either have to go into a store or log in online with your email address to see if you qualify. Unfortunately, I believe that the email verification is the only way to confirm that your employer provides a FAN discount to its employees.

However under data usage, it still says 213/200 for text messaging... which you can see is the reason I wanted this code applied. :/

Happened with me also. However after a day passed it showed 1400 msgs underneath the 200 msgs. And any additional sms msgs have started counting against 1400. No idea why 1400, maybe next month it will become 1500

yea, like I said, my employer has a discount program with ATT, but I do not have a work email address. I guess I would just have to provide a pay stub at an ATT store.

Ok, so since I dont "officially " have an iPhone or any data plans currently on my account, I should be able to receive my discount off of my plan minutes as well as the Unlimited Media Net right? But I know that if I manage to get the 1500 for $8.99 there is no discount on that.

Can anyone confirm that?...
 
just had U200 and TMS3 put on my account. A coworker also had U200 and TMS4 applied just yesterday. No problems at all, called 611, add feature codes, and when asked where I got the codes I said that I had gotten them from an HR rep. They were on my account summary the next day.

w00t! got u200 added as well. Had to go through 4 CSRs again though :(

1st one tried to add it but then claimed she couldn't and told me to go to the "college store" to add it??

2nd one was a guy who tried to be a smart ass and started lecturing me that those 'bulletin' boards online do not represent AT&T and the codes they claim etc. etc. I asked him wtf was he talking about, I got the code from my friend :rolleyes: then I hung up ofcourse.

3rd was another lady who said that she couldn't find the u200.

4th lady put me on hold while she fidgeted around with her system and finally after around 5 minutes on hold she told me it was added.

I confirmed by doing *MIN#

She said TMS4 cannot be added to any account and also said that the adding of TMS4 is fraudulent and that it has spread like wildfire through the internet and text messaging. From what she said is that those people that got TMS4 on their account will have it removed shortly.

That's basically what I was told after calling 611 getting the run around calling 611 back and trying for 5 minutes with someone that knew of feature codes was helping me and went to her manager to try to get it added for me.

I know I was lied to and I'm not trying to cry to this board. I'm a college student trying to lower the bills for my parents because of my college's fan deal.

Just sharing my experience with you guys. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't try 611. They'll feed you a load of crap. Plus, they'll see that it's coming from the account that has the phone, so you don't want to do that. Call the 800 number from a landline phone, and tell them that you want "to replace the text messaging in your plan with TMS4 code for your xxx-xxxx number". Do NOT mention that it is for your iPhone. If they ask for specifics, make sure you're stating it is to replace the text feature, not add to it.

First try at U200 and TMS3. Rep said he would be happy to add them then after I was on hold for 7 minutes, he said they expired. He obviously talked to someone and they told him to say that. Oh well, keep on trying!
 
I got my bill a week or two ago and it was my first bill. It was $113 and I thought since I had a FAN account my activation fee would be waived. So I emailed at&t and told them I thought it would be... and they emailed me the next business day and told me my FAN account does not waive activation fees... but as a one time courtesy she would waive it... so now my bill is $75 :D

Just thought maybe someone else could try this. Good Luck.
 
Here's my experience after 2 phone calls. 1st rep said we are getting our FAN disc (after I was told last month it wouldn't apply), yay, but couldn't apply U200. Next day I tried TMS4, and the rep said that due to the type of contract we have w AT&T (govt), we cannot apply that code, which has expired so he says. He notated my acct that I had called & why. Oh well.

Will you tell me one thing! What Fan/ Feature code do you use? I am using mine for Coke and get 28% but nothing like the deals you also have added like the nights and weekends! Help please!! You can pm me if you want! :D :confused:

I typed this then realized one thing... Simple the OP who said Fan codes simply miss spoke and ment Feature codes... Simple mistake...

The feature codes in question have only been working with FAN account for some time now so as they are different things they are the same category. And the market thing is true and not true as well. Many of the codes that were said to be one are now for both with the merging markets. Please read the past few pages before posting as all of this is covered there...

As long as there is a FAN on the account they can add TMS3 or TMS4 they are for people with FAN's on the acct. I bet my life they can get it. The only reason not is if they are an end user with no FAN even though they think on is there.

Non of the codes discussed to this date in this tread depend on wheather its COR, or END, it is possible as long as there is a FAN on the acct.

True some codes such as CLL2 for univ and college are only for certain FANs and thus are in the contract but not always. Only true way to know is to add it and see if it falls.

This is how I got:

1110 Bonus Minutes Monthly
1500 SMS monthly for 8.99
200 Bonus SMS monthly
N/W at 7pm for $8.99 minus $8 monthly credit making it $0.99/Month
28% Fan Discount

Where theres a will there a way but the FAN is legit dont wanna get reamed by the community on that side LOL.

JUst remember everyone just since things are different doesnt mean there not connected.....

I'd like to convert to a family plan...does anyone know whether both lines would be able to draw from the U200 extra minutes and TMS3 SMSs? Or would I have to pay another 3.99 to for the 2nd line's SMS plan?

IIRC, these would be per line. So you'd need to pay the additional $3.99 for TMS3 on the second line. U200 I believe is also per line, so you'd need to add that for each line in your family plan.
