For whatever reason, our FAN doesn't work with any iPhone. We have a 2g and 3g on our acct. I've called twice already, and they acknowledge the FAN, but can't apply it. (We used to have Razrs.) Anyhoo, I'm afraid to waste my time trying for the 1500 texts for $8.99. I wonder if I can apply the u200 though?

Add the FAN online. You need to have the 3g be the primary phone on the account. You wont get a discount for a FAN on a 2g iPhone.
 
I just had TMS4 added last night and it shows up under my Features:

Text Msging 1500 B2B $8.99 1500 N/A Current

However the bar graph under Data Usage still shows my old 200 SMS messages plan. I did confirm that the rep did take off the old SMS plan.

This is my first billing cycle and it closes on Nov 14th. Do I have to wait until the 14th to get the 1500 messages?

Also, I confirmed my FAN # is now showing in the upper right corner. Where do I find the discount %? Does that only show up on the bill?

If I call customer service and give them these codes I get the following

U200: +200 minutes
TMS3: 250 texts for 3.99
TMS4: 1500 texts for 8.99

^is that correct, are they any codes Im missing? which is the one that gives you 200 free texts?? thanks you guys!

If you have a FAN, you're just about right. You can't call ATT and have them activate the FAN; that must be done online.

The 200 minutes are used throughout the plan, IIRC (I haven't added that one yet, so I'm not sure), but the texts codes are exclusive; you can't add one on top of the other, and they are per phone number in the FAN (i.e., family plan). So you can't use TMS3 and TMS4 on the same phone number.

Example: I have 3 numbers in my account (family plan). I have TMS4 on my number, TMS3 on a second, and TMS3 on a third ($17 total). U200 would be shared minutes throughout all 3 numbers in my account, should I add it. That code can not be added to each number.

I tried calling 2 minutes ago and was told the U200 code is expired. I don't want to keep calling and have them note on my account. BTW, can anyone answer my question above regarding the text messages and discount %?

So U200 are per line, and CLL2 needs a university or college FAN. If you don't have one of those, don't even try for CLL2.

So I guess I'll be adding U200 to three lines tonight. :)

I switched to the iPhone over the weekend and called today to see if I could add either the TMS4/TMS3 and the U200 (I said that I had received notification from my HR department) but the SR told me that she could not find ANY of the codes in the system. I really would like to add these features to my FAN account, so is there anything specific that I should ask for or say when I try to call again?

Called 4 times to have CSR put in the TMS4 code. First 3 reps were unhelpful...

- the first one told me I had to go to an AT&T store since she couldn't see the discount online
- the second one was a guy who told me that this code had expired and whoever was using it probably had it 'grandfathered' into his plan
- the third told me she doesn't know of any such code and the 1500 txt msgs is for $15
- finally the 4th CSR put me on hold while she applied the code, and voila its there ! :)

With all of them I started the conversation as follows.. "Hi , I have a business account and want to add a feature code called TMS4." Each rep would then proceed to ask where I got it from and I replied everytime that a co-worker who recently added it, gave it to me.

Ok, here goes.

I have a 1st Gen 8GB iPhone.

HOWEVER, I bought it on Craigslist, and activated it with iBrikr. So I didnt have to sign a 2 year contract and At&t doesnt have it down as an official iPhone on my account by me telling them. I just activated it and switched the sim card from my Sony Ericsson 710. Sometimes it shows on my online account as the iPhone, (Im assuming by the ime number coming to them somehow) but I just change it back 2 the 710 from my online account page. I dont have any data plans (I just use WiFi @ home and HotSpots around town) and have a simple 400 txts for $6 added to my 2 line family plan. Its the 700 min version for $60 + $9.99 for second line + $6 for 400 txts.

I DO HAVE A FAN of 23% for Frito Lay. My question hasnt really been addressed so, here it is. Should I leave it as is as far as them not thinking I have an iPhone and add the $15 unlimited Media Net and then the $8.99/1500 txts that way I get the FAN Discount off of the $15 Media Net plan? (Bringing Unlimited Data &1500 txts to around$11.55 + $8.99=$20.54 instead of $30 At&t Unlimited & 1500 bundle) Since, if I understand from reading that iPhone plans ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for a FAN discount? IS THAT CORRECT?? Or does the discount INDEED APPLY to the iPhone Unlimited iPhone Data & 1500 txt bundle making it $23.10??

Also, does the FAN discount come off of the entire bill? (or just the main line?) If its just the main line, how bout the data and or texts on the main line? Does the discount apply to BOTH of those? (obviously if they are regular prices NOT the $8.99 plan!) I just recently signed up and the Rep stated she only knows that it takes off the discount from the "rate plan" but she wasnt sure about the data and the text messaging.

I can put the 200 bonus minutes on both family lines..... Right??...and I know I can put the $8.99 1500 on the second line too.... Right??

The free 200 txts I could possibly add but they would probably fall of in a month or two if im lucky... Right?

OH!.... I forgot a pretty important question.

I am assuming my iPhone will work with the att Unlimited Media Net Data package. Is that correct? Can anyone confirm/deny or ELABORATE with details on the difference between that and the QUOTE iPhone UNQUOTE plan? I have always thought it was just a scam to charge you more. Maybe I am wrong here?

Just got TMS4 added to my account, but I don't see it reflected anywhere under my online account.

Does it take time to post or did the rep do it incorrectly? Where would I be looking for it? Right now it still shows my old plan, 200 text messages.

Click "View Details" under "Rate Plan" on the right side of the OLAM home page. Mine shows up at the bottom under Added Features as:

Text Msging 1500 B2B $8.99

Okay, good, it shows up there.

However under data usage, it still says 213/200 for text messaging... which you can see is the reason I wanted this code applied. :/

Same with me. I'm assuming that will update when my billing cycle closes. This is my first month with AT&T.

From I understand you call a rep , tell them the letters/digits and then hey add it on for you

Im getting a iphone soon also, I was wondering can I just mention these codes at the ATT store , or do I have to come back home and call customer service

First off you need to have a FAN number, there is a link somewhere earlier in this thread that you can check to see if you qualify.

Then once the FAN is set up just call and add the codes

If you are switching to AT&T you can also get $25 from the referall program, drop me an email for more info e.isaacson@insightbb.com
 
FAN discounts only apply for the iPhone 3G, not the 1st gen iPhone because you're already getting a discounted data plan ($20 vs. $30).

You didnt read far enough. I DONT currently even have ANY data on my account. As far as ATT knows I have a Sony Ericsson 710. I simply use an 1st Gen iPhone.

Are you saying the FAN discount only applies to the Apple iPhone 3G and NO OTHER PHONE or plan? How about the text messages or data plans? Does the discount come off of those as well as the minute plan?
