Actually, when you lower your plan, they cap your rollover minutes to the new plan total. In your case since you went to the 450 plan, your rollover would have been reset to 450. Some reps are nice enough to add them back on like he did but your RO balance will probably not be 8500 and if he added them before the plan change takes effect, there's a chance that those will be lost when the minutes cap. You should probably look pretty closely on your next couple of bills.

You are correct, as the first Rep told me that when I respectfully declined. The second Rep manually added them, but additionally notated my account and instructed me to call if they do indeed fall off; as they will add them back.

Do you think I'm in the clear? We were pretty detailed in making our changes, and he did assure me that I would not loose them even if they fall off.

I just got my new iPhone and when that happened I lost my 1500 text messages for 8.99 and the rep told me I can't get that readded on there cause it's not a iPhone text plan??

I also had my TMS4 removed after upgrading from a 3G to a 3GS via Apple; however, I actually managed to get it added back (I must have just gotten lucky with the rep I spoke with in Premier). All I did was explain to her that I pre-ordered my phone through Apple and my texting plan was removed. At first she told me that they probably removed it because I needed to be on an iphone-compatible texting plan but when I told her that I had a 3G before, she looked into it a bit deeper. She wasn't able to add it right away so she told me that she would have to open up a case. After she finished doing that she gave me the case number and told me that I should hear back from them within 5 days or so. Not even 3 hours later I got a text from AT&T informing me that my issue had been resolved. Sure enough, I logged into my account online and saw that my $8.99 texting plan had been reinstated! I am very happy with AT&T at this point. Unfortunately, I don't spend enough money with them every month to qualify for the best upgrade price on my 3GS but it is what it is. I had already decided that I was willing to pay the $499 for my 32GB 3GS, so I really can't complain (selling my 3G took most of the sting out of that anyway).
 
i have a FAN account with my university..

was able to add the TMB9 that gave me 750 txt for $7.50


they wouldnt add the other that gave 1500 txts tho.
 
I am confused about all of these codes and what to do...I have been reading the posts for the past 20 min. I just got the iphone 3gs the other day and 1500 text message plan and have a Fan account through the hospital i work at. What codes will work for this and how many texts are they for? Thanks

Update: Just called ATT and tried TMS4..and it didnt work. Should I just call back and try again?

I had the exact same thing happen to me, upgraded from the 3G to the 3GS on friday and they upgraded my text plan to $15 for1500 texts instead of the TSM4 $8.99. I'm on the phone with a rep now and she is opening up a case for me because she was having problems adding the code back on the account herself. Here's hoping I get a text within a few hours as well letting me know it was added, fingers crossed
 
I called AT&T earlier today and gave her the TMB9 code for 750 texts @ $7.50. She said she couldn't find it in the computer, but then I told her what it was for and she said she added it to my number.

So I guess you need to tell them specifically what it is.

It's worth a shot but I don't know if you'll get it. I was told that TMS4 is a grandfathered code so that is the reason why I was able to get it back. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a rep who will add it for you. Mention that a co-worker of yours has that text messaging plan and you would like to add it since you both have the same FAN.
 
i've never used the codes, although i've had my fan account for about a year. This is my first iphone. The CSR said she wasn't able to add it but opened up a case for me. What are my chances of getting it. Should i just try for the tmb9 code?
 
I'm really annoyed I was assured that the 8.99 text plan would stay when I upgraded. It was on my account when the phone was still waiting to activate and was showing as 3G. I just checked it right now and it went to the 15.00 plan. I'm on hold now as AT&T rep looks into it. I would urge everyone to log into their account and check their texting plan.
 
Just to let you all know (and maybe this has been said before), all of these text messaging plans DO NOT include MMS. For each MMS you send or receive you will be charged an additional .30$. Trust me. I know this for certain because I have had many of these codes on my wife's Blackberry and anytime she gets or send an MMS we get charged an additional .30$ for it.

My advice, stay away from this if you plan to do any amount of MMS once ATT gets its act together and makes this active for the iphone.

Also, another point. Once ATT does make MMS active, we may all have to check our account again if you are using these codes because I have a feeling a lot of us will loose these codes again. :rolleyes:
 
So I just called, and the CS rep said she tried to put it on but it wouldn't go through, and that if I go to a company AT&T store with "the paper with the code" then they can put the TMS4 on my account. Should I just try calling them again? Or is there a way I can actually get a paper with this code to bring with me to a store?
 
Just got off the line with premier and business. They said none of these codes could be entered because it's not on my discount profile. I'm already credited with the U.S. Army, what more could they want?

She said it can take up to 60 days for a response! What kind of customer service is that?! Anyone else have any luck on getting it added back on to their account? I know someone mentioned they got it added back on to their account after 3 hours.

You'd have to go/call AT&T for that one since we don't have a complete list for the discount percentages offered by them, AFAIK some college FANS offers 15% but like I said it differs.

I was told that I had to pay $50 to add that code to my plan...LMAO!

I called 7 times after that and NO ONE could find or was capable of adding the feature...

I just wish AT&T had a middle of the road text plan for $10...like 800 texts or something. 200 is too little and 1500 is a bit too much for me.

I have no clue whatsoever! ...but like you mentioned above; i'll just stick with my regular texting plan.

this is my first post on the forums =]

Now i have a question myself, If I remove my 30 a month family texting plan and add one of these 1500 plans (i have a FAN account) does everyone get to use it, or just one line, and can i also stack codes on top of each other? Thank you!
