Alright, I just got an iPhone on Friday. I signed up for the 200 message plan, but will probably want more txts. I rarely MMS so I don't think I need the $15 1500 message plan. I just want to make sure I have the correct codes down before I call...

B2B 750 is good for 750 SMS for $7.50 per month.
MU01 is pay per MMS at $.29 each.

Correct? Do I just ask the at&t person to apply those codes? From what I've read, it may take several calls.

Thanks.

Yes and Yes (make sure you have a FAN on your account to apply those codes)

I will be receiving a military discount and on the top of my online account page it says "US AIR FORCE EMPLOYEES FAN#: " I take it that is what you are talking about?

Thanks!
Correct, that's the FAN I was talking about. You should be good to add codes then (well after some persistent tries) Good luck!

I just spoke to two different people that did have any idea of B2B 750, and the third spoke with the business department and was told that such a plan did not exsist. I will try again tomorrow, but I am a little stumped on how differently to ask for the messaging plan.

You just have to keep trying. There's no secret lingo or anything.

I know it must be getting frustrating but not as frustrating as it is to watch someone struggle without first doing a search. The reason you are having so much trouble is because you are using the wrong code! Instead of looking at the post right before your question (post #1450) from vashwood, ("Persistence pays off. I was able to add TMB9, MU01, and U200 the other day") you asked your question and relied on an answer from Rayfire which gave you incorrect information. He answered "Yes and Yes" to you're question (Post #1451) about whether B2B 750 and MU01 were the correct feature codes to add. B2B 750 is NOT a feature code! TMB9 is the 750 SMS for $7.49 and MU01 is the "pay per use" feature code for MMS. All you had to do is look at the post RIGHT BEFORE YOURS! I'm not saying you can easily add this feature to you're FAN account now because AT&T has tightened the restriction on the use of this code in just the past week, but at least you will have the right codes. I was able to add it to my account without much trouble (5 minutes) about two weeks ago.

I know I will probably get some flames for being so harsh because nobody on these boards likes to have things like this pointed out to them, but look at how much time and frustration you would have saved yourself if you had just looked at the post before yours.

Good luck to you, maybe it won't be to late to have it added.

No, thank you for pointing this out. It was an oversight on my part. I did look back at the posts, but obviously missed the post right before mine. The lady I did just speak with did not know of TMB9, and found nothing on a search, but I will try again later and will atleast have the correct code.

YMMV, but i was able to get the regular iPhone messaging plan with TMS4 pricing at $8.99, i called to troubleshoot mms on day 1 and after figuring out it was the TMS4 that was keeping me from using MMS, they put me on that plan, then after some discussion was able to get them to agree to charge me $8.99 for the messaging plan, what they will do is give you a credit for the difference between the plans. i have had a few other friends try and its worked about 50% of the time, good luck guys

Thanks for pointing that out, my apologies I was in a hurry when I posted that answer and was assuming that he read the first couple of pages of the thread. Sorry again.

Well, for the past year I've had U200 and B2B1500 SMS. Looks like they removed my 200 Bonus mins per month and just received a call from ATT today stating that my $8.99 SMS Plan will drop of today, and I would need to add a different one.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I don't have that $8.99 plan but my 200 Bonus mins are still intact for almost more than a year now. Did you drop your FAN?

No didn't lose the FAN account. The only change I had made was upgrading from a 700 to a 1400 min family plan. However, I lost the U200 after 1 full month's of service.

So when you upgraded it didn't get dropped and a month later it was dropped without warning?

Right. It actually seemed like I went 2 billing cycles after plan upgrade, then it got dropped. When I called ATT, and told the CSR about it he said, I can see where you had the U200 plan on last month, however he couldn't add it back on, as they were notified for the 2nd tier/higher level people to add it. When he filled the claim, I received a call from the 2nd tier people at ATT the next day, and they mentioned to me, that the SOC U200 code is not available against my US Air Force FAN number. They also said that they were dropping my TMS4 plan, as it's not an iPhone compatible feature.

So for 3 lines, I basically lost a total of 600 Bonus Mins, and my 2 $8.99 SMS plan. 3rd lines does not have an SMS feature. So I'll end up spending $12 additional dollars and lose 600 mins now.

Aw that sucks. I have a FAN through my university so I guess they're really doing it based on what kind of agreement you have on your employer/school.

That sucks.
I had the U200 for over 6 months now and I just added a bonus 200texts.
I dont know if that BS they're giving about your account is not compatible is really true or they just came across them and removed them on you.
I been lied to by a bunch of reps every time I tried to add a feature code saying they dont add codes any more or the code doesnt exist or has expired.
One rep even laughed at me and asked me if I got the U200 code online?
At that point I knew it was a waste to talk to him any more.
A few minutes later I talked to a different rep and they added the promo codes for me without a problem.
I suggest you try getting them added again, you wont always get the right rep to help you but with a few trys you should be able to get them back on.

A lot of the SOC's you see in threads like this are special features used by retentions, or are meant for employee accounts and etc. Joe Average CSR isn't supposed to add them. And you have to realize, Joe Average CSR generally doesn't really have much incentive to follow AT&T's policies to the letter. So AT&T has started putting more restrictions on what people are actually allowed to do in the billing system, so that only retentions can actually add special offers, only the FAN departments can add FAN-specific features, etc.

Soooo....

With the new iPhone coming and all, is anyone going to give the codes a shot again?

I'm a little worried that the Apple store is going to mess with my plan and I'm going to lose all my perks, fingers crossed against that.
