Question, did you all get a shipping label in with your return kit that you received with the new device?

I have the return kit but didn't receive a shipping label in the box, and ATT is telling me it is coming separately....this doesn't sound right.

Yes, a label was inside each box for both.

yeah, this is an absolute nightmare trying to get a shipping label out of ATT now. Would think they could just email me a damn label.

they are telling me the shipping kit that came with the new phone is for if there is problems with the new phone. They are saying i have a whole separate shipping kit coming in the mail. This is wrong correct?

Completely wrong. Did you receive this email after your ordered?

I got my kits yesterday from UPS. Phones arrived Friday. I dropped the 12 minis (phone only - barely had room to bubble wrap them) in the kits and took them to UPS this morning. There was a “peel here” label on the outside of the kit and once peeled, outgoing label is underneath.

(This is for two Apple preorders for AT&T carrier financing (non-next))

The “kits” that come with the new phone is the return label for if there is a problem with that device or you’d like to return it. Ask me how I know! Do NOT send your trade in device with that shipping label - it will go to the wrong warehouse and you will have a fun time trying to get your credits.

My phone still has not shipped, even though I preordered asap. Ridiculous.

Did you see my post - may be different methods by the kit I received with new phone is for trade in. ATT never takes back phones that aren’t working they refer you to Apple.

Finally got at least some type of update. The app says ready to ship instead of working on order. Anyone that had that message how long after did it ship if it has?

Use the Google machine - ATT does not handle iPhone warranty issues. Simple as that. They simply say contact Apple.

Lucky you, glad you got an update I ordered a day before you and still in just the ordered status lol

Nice job being disingenuous. You're the only one talking about warranty issues.

ATT DOES take returns back, as I have said already. Stop moving the goalposts.

I’m not sure why you brought up warranty issues anyway, as that is not the point. The point is that ATT sends a return label with the new phone. One should not mistake that return label for a trade in return label, as they are two different things and there’s a chance you will cause a headache for yourself if you use the wrong one.

This is true and very confusing. The return label that comes with the phone from AT&T is to return the new phone, not the trade-in phone.

Just personal preference but trade-in through Apple seems easier and less confusing.

Ups says label created scheduled delivery for tomorrow, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up because I seen peoples say that for days 🙄 but maybe it’s because I ordered in store. I seen someone say in store orders are placed priority

Please reference my earlier post with the screenshot of the email I received from ATT after getting my trade in approved. It clearly says in Step 1 Your trade-in kit is included with your new device box. Not sure where the confusion lies.

They said the same thing for an iPhone 14 in my family last year. I followed the instructions. Guess what? It was a return label, NOT a trade in label, despite what the instructions said. The instructions are/were wrong.

Okay yeah that makes since, online orders are probably overly backed up nothing I can do but wait and hope they get a shipment soon

It also says "wait for the trade-in kit." When I've done a trade-in through AT&T, the trade-in box has always arrived separately from the phone. Hence, the confusion with that language in the screenshot.

Edit to note the "heads up" disclaimer at the bottom of the screen shot.

Was responding to your comment "if there is a problem with the device" that sounds like a warranty issu

that was how it’s been done in the past, I will follow the instructions in the email and let you all know how it turns out.

Reading through this thread I think I have been put on the back burner by ATT.
Ordered a 15 PM blue 256GB on 9/16 @ 8AM on their website. I had an estimated 9/22-10/6. On Sunday the status switched from just "We're working on your order" to showing estimated ship Tuesday in green. Tuesday came and went now it's just back to "We're working on your order" in the app but now showing an estimated ship date of 10/10-10/26 on the website...

This is from the current AT&T website. https://www.att.com/deals/phone-trade-in/

"Kit arrives about 10 business days after your new device"

Just FYI

OK - last post on this topic. First here's the trade-in instructions in my ATT account. Looks like they send trade ins multiple ways.
