Order 16GB black from att on monday.

It switched sometime this morning to 0 for iPhone, 1 for frieght.

I assume its waiting to be picked up now.

Nope. Just means the warehouse is not out of stock....yet. They probably will be as they fill other orders.
 
Can't check status on website

I ordered my phone on Monday, but can't pull up any sort of status on the order status web site. No matter what combination of order numbers, zip codes, etc. I enter, I always get the same message:

"We're sorry, but the information you entered was not recognized by our systems. Your order may not yet be available or the information may have been entered incorrectly. Please try again."

I called corporate AT&T, and they were able to pull up the info. But all they could tell me was to expect 10-14 days.

So what order number should I be entering? I see some mention a 3 digit number or a 5 digit number on the receipt, but all I can see is a 9 digit "Number", and a 9 digit (begining with a letter) "Order ID" immediately below it. Neither of those work.

Any suggestions? I'd sure like to track this thing!
 
My update is that the FRT and Phone switched back to 0 on the back order.
Still no ship info. Orderd mine on Friday at 11am CST in Dallas, TX. (16gb Black)
 
Glad to see I'm far from the only incurably impatient gadget head in the world. I keep coming back to read here to water down my own pathetic need to have the damn thing in my hands. BTW - ordered Friday 8:45 pm, 8 gig Black, 0 back orderd for the phone, 1 backordered for FRT... it's been that way for over 24 hrs. The 5th ahead of me has shipped and is local, everyone else between me and that person show the same status as me. 1 & 0.

5 digit "Order ID" from the receipt. The zipcode of the store you ordered your phone.

Or the contact number you provided (like home phone) and the store zip.

Did you get an email acknowledgment?

You use the last 5 digits of the order number and the zip code for the store you ordered from.
you can also select the contact number option and enter the contact number you gave them, for me it was my home number.
 
All the numbers I check are 0 backorder still. Some I know are 8gig and some I know are 16blk. Only 2 changed to shipping over night.
Thinking the loading dock got some phones in late last night that were checked in and they sat overnight while the warehouse was closed.

5-10 days and it's only be 3, 5-10 days and it's only be 3, 5-10 days and it's only be 3,.......

I just got the shipment notification at 2:30am today, but the item actually shipped out of the warehouse 3pm yesterday. It's already on the delivery truck and I hope it'll be ready for me to pick up by lunch today. I'm in Central PA and it shipped from Texas in less than 24hrs.

I'm kind of ticked though cause they are shipping them all the same way now, and not offering "priority" shipping, which I paid for. I know cause a co-worker ordered hers Monday and they didn't even offer it to her. I'm going to ask for a refund on that $15 and see if I can get it cause it really was for nothing...

I hope I'll be playing with my new toy by this afternoon :D
 
It seems like the person before me had theirs shipped out yesterday. So I think mine will get shipped out today (hopefully).

Do you think, as sad as it is to say, that if i have not received a shipment notification yet on the att order status page...that it is not coming today?

That is pretty sad... :) I am almost on top of the DFW warehouse and my store is only down the road from it, well by Texas standards, but yet still no Track.... Want it now...
 
status change

Still no Iphone ordered mine on Friday at the ATT store. However, on the ATT website the phone status changed from being on backordered to just ordered, so hopefully that means my order is coming up soon.

According to some other people and Att, the status page isn't very up to date. Its slow. So it may have shipped out today, but the page just isn't updated. You still have a chance. I would check the status page again around 6 or so.
 
Not wanting to stand in lines for hours on end I went to my local AT&T store on Friday around 3:30 p.m. after the line was gone. I walked in and did a direct fulfillment. I never received an e-mail notice of the status like I was told but I managed to track the order using my order number. On Monday I saw it was shipped Priority Overnight via FedEx. Yesterday I got a call from the store informing me the phone was in.

I went in around 6 p.m. (had to wait for my wife) and set up the iPhone and a different smartphone for her. Over all the process was very smooth, maybe taking 30 min. for both. The only problem we've encountered so far is that we are transferring from a different carrier. Our new phones can dial out but won't receive incoming calls which go to our old phones. The sales person said the full transfer can take up to three hours but as of this morning, around 7 a.m., the problem still wasn't resolved. I can only assume this is because we did the transfer last night and the service didn't completely change over during business hours. Hopefully this will be resolved this morning.

So far I'm loving the iPhone. It's very clean interface is easy to use, reception is good and it synched up with my Plantronics bluetooth headset simply. Definitely, this is far better than the "free" phones I've been using all these years.

Not so much to hurt you. :) Just an update in helping keep peoples confidence up. Personally, I'd much rather wait a week or two as opposed to standing in a line for hours. We all have better things to do.

If you have the 0 backorder phone and the 1 backorder freight call the ATT number. If your phone is in warehouse, the automated voice will tell you. If it's simply that some phones are in the warehouse, the automated voice will inform you that your special phone is still on backorder. All hail the automated voice. She'll know what to do...
 
just called the number on my receipt...she said everyone who ordered friday and saturday should have theirs shipped out on monday and start arriving tuesday. I said I haven't heard anything from my at&t store.

she tried looking up my order and couldnt find anything. my order DOES shop up on the tracking website. should i be worried its not showing up in their system?

This coming Monday? So if you ordered on the 11th, it ships on the 21st?
 
i got an update email, my iphone is on the fedex truck for delivery today!

I just called the iCare evil automated troll... she confirmed my/our fears. I put in an order number with a FRT 0 PHONE 0 and she told me it was in progress... than I put in my FRT 1 PHONE 0 and another ... and she told me that they were backordered...... (#*&Y R*(HNFIU#HF(@#NFBOJHBWE(_F

Ouch... just checked the status of the ones that were shipped to my local store yesterday (sadly, none of the phones are mine)... out of the four phones that were supposed to arrive today, all four say "Delivery Exception - Incorrect Address"...

They better get this worked out when it is time for mine to ship...

OMG! The packages that said "Incorrect Address" now say "Package returned to shipper" !!!
