I called the number on the receipt and the rep couldn't find my order. Funny, because I can find it through the online system, no problem.

To repeat, I ordered a 16gb black on Friday at 9:45am CST.

Glad that people who ordered over 24 hours later are getting theirs!

Not sure how that works, but it sucks!

I did some checking on the numbers as well and it seems that 5orders before me have the same status as I. In turn that also means that there was some movement between yesterday and today, just not mine yet. Hanging in there for another positive update later today, but I think we gotta play again tomorrow at this point...
 
i went to AT+T today and ended up getting a no-contract service only plan (with no equipment) for $39.99/month with my number ported to it from t-mobile. i have a SIM and if i find/borrow a phone that will work on the AT+T network i can use it just fine until my iPhone gets here. once the iphone shows up, we just put it on the account, put the SIM card in and add the data and i am all set. i ordered the 16GB white and was told 10-21 days.

everything is all verified and double checked so i do not have any issues when the iphone comes in - no extra fees, upgrade charges, etc...

the only mild negative is having 2-3 weeks of service i will most likely not use, but it was worth it to me to keep my phone number.

very easy, took 15 minutes. i am happy as of now

ironically, as i was there fedex came and delivered 15 individually boxed phones for DF orders. the manager told me 100% of incoming phones are for fulfilling these DF orders, NO phones will be sold to walk-in customers until all DF orders are done.

after looking at the order status for my store (Seekonk, MA), it looks like

59 orders to be shipped
21 have shipped, all were ordered on 7/11

I'm as eager as the next person to get a new phone, but people relax! I can't even begin to imagine how challenging it has been for Apple and ATT to organize the multiple designers, developers, engineers, suppliers, distribution facilities around the globe to assemble, test, ship and deliver over a million phones -- and to do so on such a tight turnaround with as few problems as they have had.

Give Apple the credit for building such a unique and wonderful product, and give AT&T some slack for playing second fiddle to Apple (they have very little control over inventories).

Like most of you I ordered mine through ATT on release day.. This morning it said mine is at the store so eagerly i rushed right down to the store to snatch up my 16GB Black phone.. Two hours later I am home without it??? Its there i touched it even but the clerk could not sign it out to me because and I quote " i checked the status online too many times and it cause a glitch in the direct fullfillment site" so he says that he has to call some people to get the magic button to show up on his screen so that he can check it out to me??

I have to say i switched to ATT for this phone but i did it a couple of months ago so I paid 499.00 for it and this has been the most f'd up process i have ever been involved in...

good luck to everyone and i guess stop checking your iphone status...

Not trying to be mean, but Apple new what the response to this phone was gonna be like. They had plenty of time to prepare for it too. Att on the other hand has no idea what they are doing. They aren't communicating with Apple or something. When every customer service rep tells you something differnt, there is a problem. Hell, even when I called att to see howmany phones they had in stock all he said was "oh ifyou want to come wait in lines at 8 in the morning thats fine, but if you want to wait until 2-3 when the lines are gone, feel free to come in...they'll be here. So i go at 8, and an hour later i'm told by the same guy that some iphones never even came in stock...

I'm blaming it all on apple and att lol.

I ordered a 16gb black on Saturday. The backorder for the phone was at 0 since about 6PM CST last night, and it just changed back to 1. :(

Same here.

I have been checking today and it JUST went to backorder on the phone.
I'm not too worried though because a lot of people here have had the same issue and then they get an email saying that it has been shipped and will be at the store the next day. I'm going to remain optimistic here.

I ordered at 8pm central on Saturday in Des Moines, IA. Black 16 gig.

Apparently it doesn't hurt either. Number 1 and number 2 from my store in Ann Arbor, MI hasn't shipped either but number 91 has (the last order on Friday). It is a 16gb Black iPhone. Suppose to be in tomorrow by 3:00. I know a couple of Saturday orders have shipped as well as of this morning.

Then again, we do not know what the order #'s before us contain? Could be a freaking car adapter for all we know.

What makes we feel better tho is that my local ATT store told my buddy that all existing orders will be served first. All DF orders that is. So if you order one today, you can expect to wait 10+days.

There's no way that's true. Or at least, I'm skeptical.

I want to know where you guys got that ASP.NET script. Can someone give that to me so maybe I can convert into something I don't have to run windows to use (php?)

the other php script link posted doesn't really do much for me that the cingular's status page doesn't do.
 
Just got back from the ATT store and :mad: I got a very pretty and expensive brick sitting on my desk right now. The only guy that can port / create my corp account is out sick today :(

That doesn't even make sense. There should be no way a front-end customer process that is essential a read-only of query should mess with a backend process.
 
I haven't gotten an email yet (ordered mine yesterday) but from what I'm gathering I should be able to check my status with the info on my receipt. The order number I see on there is really long however and has an L at the end. I haven't been able to get into the site at all. Thoughts?

I've been monitoring my store's orders daily. Last two days they've shipped 13 phones. Today so far only 2 phones.

I hope that doesn't mean the warehouse is slowing down, or worse, is sitting around waiting for phones to show up.

The orders also show 13 phones with no longer backordered for freight since 8am this morning. So I thought those would ship. However, the 2 that have shipped werent one of those, and none of the ones with freight not backordered have shipped.

What a screwy mess AT&T has.

Order two ahead of me on Saturday has shipped. So I have hope, but I'm planning to keep checking the local Apple store to see if they get any.

AT&T Just called and said the reason i could not get it earlier was because fed ex and their DF center had not synced so they did not show the phone available to be picked up.. which also does not make sense since AT&T sent me an email to come and get it.. All is well I will have it tomorrow/

So, my phone was at 0 on FRT and PHONE today for the last 14 hours. I ordered mine Friday at 8:15am CST. The phone went back to backordered at Noon today, but just got a call from ATT Store and it's in. So, seems to be the online status means nothing :). There's hope for some of you.
