AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

With so many people ordering the phones, it's possible that once in a while, they will get a letter wrong in an email address.
 
I'm #8 in my line. My store had 10 orders ship yesterday! Good signs! Hopefully I can hang tight enough to get mine shipped today (16gb Blk). How often does AT&T update these stats? I seem to remember someone saying they don't really change much until certain times of day.
 
woooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! mines finally shipped! i knew today would be the day!!!
i get to finally pick it up tomorrow!!!! just in time to get my accessories for it too!!!, its been a long wait but well worth it!!!

Im number 105 at my store and I ordered on the 22nd. It sucks how long this is taking...at this pace I wont get my phone until mid August.
 
Ok im not really good with computers and I dont know much about the iPhone so i had a couple of questions that maybe someone could answer. I went to an AT&T store and ordered a 16GB black iphone on monday, july 21.

1: I never recieved any sort of email, is this bad?
2: My tracking order says that "FRT" is backordered 1, but the "PHONE" is backordered 0. What does this mean?
3: Is it possible my iPhone will be in by July 31? (I go out of town on the 1st)

You should get an email any time. It took me a couple of days to receive mine

It really means nothing until you see a tracking number

It's possible and depends on how fast Apple can ship them out to your store
 
confused!

well i ordered 2 on monday 7/21 in san jose and the sales rep told it would be 5 days and that i should have it by this weekend. after being on here and reading everyones post i'm not so sure anymore! I did call ATT and the person i spoke to said I was # 6 in line. Does anyone know if that's for my store or what? I ordered (2) 16GB in black.

Even though the at&t status site says my order is still in progress, I just got an email from my bank saying at&t took out some money.

I ordered my 8gb on 7.15 in columbus, ohio.

I know that you couldn't check your order status by order number, but I could with this link, sometimes you would have to refresh it though.

When you click on it, just replace the first set of x's with your 5 digit order number, then replace the 2nd set with your stores zip code.

If it doesn't work for you, I'm sorry, but today it's worked for me and I could check the orders in front of me.

iphone 8gb black shipped

Hey all,

I don't normally post on forums, but this one helped me stay patient for the last 8 days that I've been on backorder. A little info for you all still waiting...

ordered - iphone 3g black 8g
date - 7/16 about 10amish
shipped - 7/24 9am

note - This was ordered through a large corporate account, we do a lot of business with att. The order tracking system still shows my phone as backorder, so I would say it's lagging at least 5 hours...

Take care, anxious to play with my first apple toy (well, first since 1990).
 
To give those an idea on CC charging/processing/shipping/delivery time:

I ordered on 7-14-08 ~1600
I received conformation of order on 7-15-08
I had funds authorized from my account (initial charge) on day of order.
CC authorization dropped off 5 days later
CC charged on 7-21-08
Status changed from BackOrder "1" to backorder "0" on 7-22-08
Status changed from Ordered to shipped on 7-23-08
I received my Iphone today at ~1200.

8g black.

Today - Backorder has been at 0 for most of the day. Hopefully that means they got a Laaaaaaaarrrrrrge shipment.
 
so att charged my cc again! i was a 7/16 8gb order so im crossing my fingers ill have it by saturday haha but realistically im thinkin monday?!
 
i am #1 in line for my store. i ordered the 16gb black on the 14th. i was just taken off backorder (again). will someone please console me and tell me that it will ship soon? or else i might go insane

Alright so my phone is predicted to come in at 3pm, but the tracker says it was delivered at 11:50am, still no call.....any of you guys that already went through this, did you get a call early or later in the afternoon?

I ordered a 16 gb white iphone on the 22nd, my credit card was charged the same day, I still have no shipping or tracking information.... should i be worried or making any phone calls?
 
This is quite frustrating. I am order #16 out of 17 at my store for the 16th of July.

Just called both my local stores, they said its about 2-3 weeks right now for a black 16, about 3 days for a white 16.
 
WOW. So my phone says "shipped, arrived at store"...and yet when I call asking about when I can pick it up, I was told it hasn't arrived yet. WTF? And since when do I have to wait for the actual person that I ordered it from to come in? AT&T better start pulling its *&^% together, what a mess they have created for themselves. I'm still going down there to see whats up.
