AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

Maybe they're feverishly working on shipping out all backordered phones instead of fixing the technical difficulties of the status system?

I called AT&T to the number they provide since their Order Status service seems to be down and they told me my iPhone white is backordered. I really doubt this because before I called in and a rep didn't even know how much the iPhone 3G cost.
So I'm anxiously waiting for them to put their service back up so I can see what is really happening.
I also called my store and they said not to worry that they would call me when it was in store. :/

When did you order yours? I also ordered a 16 gb white. I havnt even seen an email from them.. I WAS able to check status with my order number but obviously I cant now.
I was assured it would ship within 72 hours..... Time is ticking.... what is even more annyoing someone 5 orders below me has had theirs shipped
I was assured this too. I ordered mine 7/22. Gosh I think time is going so slow right now. :/

I have my iPhone in my hand! No problems that I can see (haven't checked for light leaks or dead pixels yet though). Activation was quick and painless, AT&T rep did it in about 10 minutes. I have no yellow screen and things don't seem to be falling apart so overall I'm happy. 😀

Ordered a white 16GB yesterday and order tracking is showing it is already filled with a tracking number from Fedex. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

Those numbers are good for me i'm planing on having my phone (if things keep up) in about 3 days tops.

Backorder Back to Zero
Well I have been reading this forum for a couple days so I thought I would hang out and wait with the rest of you guys. Well I ordered my 8gig on the
18th and the staus as of a couple minutes ago is backorder 0 so lets see how long that lasts.😀

i ordered on the same day for the same phone. Mine says backordered too. So hopefully the Apple plant finally sent over a butt load of them.
Idk, bro. I hope not. I'm pretty pissed right now. If mine isn't in first thing in the morning, I'm pretty much just saying f*** it, and call it a day.
I guess FedEx is now in the habit of lying about their orders. Anybody else in the Palm Beach area of Fl, experience this? Or has it taken 2 days for delivery for anyone?
