AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

Don't know...hopefully they will tomorrow
Everything at my store before 7/17 has shipped
 
i ordered a white 16gb on 7/15.... it was backordered on and off, then i found out it was canceled on 7/20..due to my overdue bill.. so i payed the bill and ordered another one on 7/21 ... and on 7/23 i had it in my hands ! i hope all of u that ordered any iphone will get it soon :D
 
Maybe i should've ordered the white iphone 3G 16GB seems people are getting them shipped just within a few days instead of weeks like the 16GB in black i ordered.

Dude, I have not had a phone for 3 weeks. My backup phone died. I am not waiting over 1 week to get a phone. My store is barely getting phones out and there is a long list in front of me.
 
I ordered a 16gb black on opening day. They told us in the store that it would be there Monday (July 21) at the latest. It arrived on the 21st, and I picked it up the 22nd. While I was in the store, another woman was in there complaining, she ordered hers later on the 11th, and hers hadn't come in yet...
 
I ordered a 16GB Black on 7/14. It just shipped out early today and will arrive Monday morning.

AT&T put another hold on my account, and never removed the original hold on my account. So now I have two holds on my account ($600), and a shipped iPhone.

What the hell is going on?
 
I ordered 7/14 and thought it was going to ship today as the backorder on both the phone and FRT went to 0 but now my phone says backorder and the FRT is still 0. It better ship or ill be pissed I was told 5-7 and then on the 7th day 7-10 and today is day 10 this is just stupid slow.

So I go home and order it on 7/14 and was told 7-10 days as seen above. I read the forums and decide to check out the Apple store 45 mins up the road. I get there and they tell me that only the primary account holder can order the phones (bulls***), even though I pulled up our account on one of their store computers! So I wasted 2 hrs and about 5 gallons of gas doing that. Now, I'm leaving Sunday and I'm the only 7/14 order from my store that hasn't shipped yet.

I hate being at the mercy of monopolies. I wish this phone was not as good as it is otherwise I would take my business somewhere else. Sorry for the rant, but this forum has been great and to see that I'm not the only one getting screwed. Happy waiting!

I also ordered on 7/14 around closing time. I've been #1 in the queue since 10pm last night. This wait has been awful.

Mine is doing the same thing but I 've never seen it do that before. My order is from the 15th and is for a 16gb Black. I'll let you know if anything changes. Has anyone else experienced this?
 
And the wait continues

ordered on the 18th and still waiting so I hope I it comes next week. The wait is killing me.

Looks like I spoke too soon. It just marked as shipped!

Black 16gb ordered on 7/14 shipped 7/25. Looks like they will stick within the 7-10 business days like I was promised. Lucky for them...
 
When I went in to pick up my phone last night, the manager of the store helping me out said the white phones were only taking about 72 hours for turnaround and the black were taking 21 days now. He said it was due to lack of interest in the white phone. I'm not sure if I believe that.

Oh, also, he said he thought that stores in non-3G markets got less phones. A store somewhere in Arizona where his friend works got 300 phones and the store I ordered from only got 20 on launch day.

Go on Ebay and get a unlocked el cheapo in the meantime. They usually have fast shipping. :)
 
Holy hell! It just changed to both 0's on the back order status!! Woot?!? Please ship! lol

I guess when your freight isn't back ordered that means it's a good sign.
 
My order just jumped back to have my phone on back order but the freight is still at 0. Stop jerking me around AT&T!!!
 
My mother ordered a white 16 GB at an AT&T store here (Phoenix) on Wednesday. We got an email and a call saying it would be here on Saturday!

An at&t rep says they are getting them in every 2-3 days, but the black ones are backordered around 2 weeks. I guess no one wants the white one.
 
I want my phone..

Man this waiting thing sucks..i havent been waiting that long but im a very impatient person lol..so i ordered my 8gb on Monday July 21st and i was wondering if anyone could tell me if i will get it before my school starts on august 12th? if anyone could answer this that would be great!

I'd go to the apple store if i was you...(check what # in the line at your ATT store is, depending on that.)

but yes imo you should have it by then
 
Mine arrived at the ATT store ~3:00 according to FedEx and I got there a little before to pick it up (they hadn't called yet). The lady found the phone right away, set it up, and was all around very helpful. My Sprint number was ported in <10 minutes and I was up and running on 3G before I even left the store.

I ran the battery dead after playing with it for several hours. I was getting tired so I just set it to stream Pandora for at least an hour. This is of the charge it was shipped with. We'll see what happens after it gets a couple full cycles.

Ordered: 7/14 (afternoon)
Shipped: 7/24 (afternoon, updated evening)
Arrived: 7/25 (afternoon)
 
hey hey hey! My B16G just shipped this evening! Too bad I won't get it until Monday though since it left Texas on Friday. :eek::(
