1. If you have a mac this is how you do it:
Download TextWrangler (google it)
go to that link and copy that code.
follow the directions on the website on how to change the code to your zip, etc
paste code into Textwrangler and on the menu bar you'll see a #!
click it and select "run in terminal"
names and numbers should start showing up

Thanks for all the positive feedback, and the additional docu. I use TextMate, which has a 30-day free trial. It's also well worth the money if you write code.

The iPhone is tight, especially when you synch your data with the MobileMe cloud. We've used .Mac for a while now, and being able to synch bookmarks, contacts, and calendars across multiple Macs was awesome. Now you can do it with your Macs and your phones.

OK, I think that's enough unpaid plugs for 1 post....
 
What happens if AT&T takes longer to ship out the phone than they said they would i odered mine on the 12 and they said it will be 7-10days tops and they haven't shipped it out yet. and i just called and they said it's gonna take 10-21 more day. can i get like a charge back on like a month of service or something.

First of all, it's not like they have them and they are just too lazy to ship them to you. They are waiting for apple to send them the phones just like how you are waiting for AT&T to send you the phone. If someone told you that it will definitely be there in 7-10 days then that person was an idiot because I don't think they are supposed to guarantee you a date. What they are doing right now is just telling people what the average time is.

Secondly, you haven't started the plan yet, so I don't see why you would get a charge back...

The 7-10 days they quoted was an estimate, although it is supposed to ship within that time, they don't guarantee it will.

I really don't think you'll get much more than an apology, if that.

just checked my order status frt went to 0 and i just got billed, possible shipping? i think yes i ordered an 8GB on 7/17
 
Finally!!!!

It FINALLY shipped yesterday evening!

7/14, evening: Ordered 16GB Black
7/16-7/26: Obsessively checking status and reading/posting MacRumors
7/25: Shipped at 5:15 PM from Memphis, TN scheduled for 7/28 delivery.

Note: My credit card has not been charged again, and I have not received an email.

This forum has been greatly therapeutic and it's been great reading about everyone's anxiousness and angst for the iPhone!
 
Looks like i moved up to # 12 in line after 6 iphones were shipped yesterday i hope the AT&T warehouse gets more this weekend for shipping, i noticed all of the Apple stores out of stock.
 
My mother ordered an 8 Gig on the 17th. It shipped yesterday. Ironically, she is in Memphis & it shipped from Memphis & still won't be at the store until Monday.

yesterday in total i moved up from #72 to #59...if it goes at this pace, i should have it by july 31, great, the day i leave for vacation

A side note, I sold my touch on 7/10 to pay for the iphone, so for 15 days, I have been ipod less, first time in 10 years. I have reconnected with my CD collection which I must report sucks compared to ipod-land.
 
It's shipped! I ordered an 8 GB on 7/17, and it shipped at 11:30pm 7/25. It left from TN, and it's already in MI so i might get it today. I guess a week wait isn't that bad.....even though i have been waiting since 7/11. (I was the one who went into an AT&T store and thought I had put in a DF order, but the stupid sales rep never put it in. Wow, all these 7/17 and 7/18 8GBs shipping. I'm a 7/18 8GB #29 in queue, so I guess a LOT of those earlier ones are 16gb? Hopefully this is a good sign for me :p
 
My 16GB black from 7/15 shipped last night and will be here on Monday. Just wanted to let you guys know and say, I'm outta here! lol Now if only that Vaja case would freakin' come. lol
