AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

Will it ship on sunday?

Don't think you understood my original post... I'm number 1 in the queue for shipment.... moved up 30 in past 2 days but only 4 have shipped in front of me today. 17 shipped in front of me yesterday. I know it will ship either tonight or tomorrow (if they ship on sundays). So thats all i'm asking. Do they ship on sundays?

I was studying the historical data for my store since the 3g launch, and the data trend suggests, no, they do not ship on Sundays. That being said, three orders in my data listed a sunday ship date, although further investigation with the tracking numbers showed they were actually shipped Saturday and were updated on AT&T's website with inaccurate data.

My store also informed me it could take up to 24 hours for a saturday shipment to be reflected on the order status.
 
I noticed the Apple stores are stocked this evening with 16GB iphones in black i wonder if bought one tommorow could i cancel my DF order with AT&T? or would i be stuck with the DF order also?

How do you know what model they have in stock? The site I go to just says in stock.....

I check the apple.com site where it shows you the stores by state and it has the green circles for stock on hand and red squares for out of stock, seems most Apple stores are well stocked with all three iphones.
 
does anyone know if they ship on sunday for sure?? i know that they shipped about 5 or 6 phones today but im not sure if they will tomorrow...:confused:

Hey all.. sorry for no updates.. Ive been at comic con.. But my fone shipped on WED! the day i left!!! :mad:! haha and got there on thurs.. so i will be picking it up tomorrow.. For those of all who wanna reference I ordered 16gb black on opening sat.
 
Im pretty sure they ship sunday cause i was checking the herebethedragons.com on my area and there have been numerous shipments on the 20th of July.... so that was last sunday. i wouldn't be doubtful to see shipment tomorrow.


...as for the stores receiving the iphone on sunday....im not to sure

Double check the tracking information associated with the orders. I noticed the same thing in the queue information, but of the three orders listed with sunday ship dates, one actually shipped Saturday and two actually shipped monday.

ATT - the Only way to get and iphone

I refused to wait in line for an iphone. I considered it a huge waste of time...BUT I wanted 3 phones for my business so...
* On July 15th I ordered the 3 phones (2 white, 1 black)
* on July 18th, the 2 white ones arrived
* on July 28th the black one is arriving ( I have the tracking number)

From my perspective, there are just too many other things to do than to wait in a queue for several hours for an item like this. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

BTW, overall, I am very satisfied with the phone except for the battery life but by turning 3G off, it makes it acceptable.

So, forget buying it at an Apple store and go to your closest ATT store and order one. Then go out some where and enjoy the summer.
 
my store had a big shipment for 7/26 we had 40 ships at my att store alone, and yep i was one of them cant wait till i get it
 
For those that were trying to decipher what model phones were shipping by the http://www.herebethedragons.com/queue site, you can't. All it does is copy the AT&T order status page. For the numbers, it might copy the FRT line the go to then next line which is the 2 PHONE line, I don't know, it doesn't matter.

Monday Monday Monday

Well folks the wait is almost over ordered 8gig on the 18th just checked just now and it has shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow.:D So just have to wait one more day will post an update to see how long it takes at at&t. But I'm just happy it shipped
 
Bah. I was so hopeful mine would ship yesterday, since I was the first in queue and my credit card got charged, but no such luck. I guess it'll ship tomorrow and I'll get it tuesday.
 
The charge on my card has yet to show up but my phone shipped on Friday. It's supposed to be here tomorrow. I was checking the tracking status and the phone is actually less than 15 miles away from me. Ahhh!

The tracking info on mine hasn't updated since it left TX on Friday at 9pm.

Hmmm, just updated a little while ago. Strange enough, that update from 11:08am wasn't there when I checked it 20 minutes ago.

So now that I know that my phone will be there on Monday when can I pick it up? Do we have to wait until the store calls or can we run down there when the tracking says it arrived? Curious what others have done with this.

Judging by other stories here, you should probably wait until they call. I would call them if you don't get a call by 6pm.
I don't have to worry, my friend works there and will call me when it comes in :D
Unfortunately I can't pick it up until after work tomorrow, ~6pm or so.
 
I moved up 2 spots TODAY. 2 people had theirs ship TODAY, SUNDAY. Didn't think that's possible, but whatever that's awesome.
 
Somehow, the Apple store here in Reno didn't have any around 7pm last night, but got some in by 11 am this morning. I would have went there first thing to get one if they would have let me know last night...

So, somehow, either they got some in or lied to me last night....
