AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

Something weird just happened lol

Ok really hoping to get phone tomorrow but this is weird....

Ordered two iphones on same day same phone (16 gb black) was number 1 and 2 in the queue and the att page says that the second phone has been shipped while the first one is still on back order? Why would they have shipped number 50139 before 50138?

I am 27 right now. What did you order, 8 gb or 16 gb white or black?

I did the 8 gb, and I am hoping some of those are the ones dropping off higher while the 16 gb black are the 1, 2, etc.

I will check the apple store availability as well as my position tomorrow morning, and make a decision if I am gonna go to Apple or just wait it out...I am thinking I will have mine by EOW this week.

Mine is a 16GB black. I ordered it on the 20th.

I guess I wish one of us was up higher so we knew what order they were going in.

I am guessing that most of the ones above me (lower numbers) are 16 gb....or maybe I am just hoping that!!!

Good luck, and I will let you know how it goes for me! Sucks, because I checked the apple store, and they are supposed to be stocked tomorrow morning, and I have to work!!!
 
I really hope my 7/18 black8gig ships today. A lot of people said their 8gig 7/18 shipped yesterday or the day before so I'm getting a little more impatient :p
 
Some of you need to keep in mind at how many results you are looking at. If you do the simple form, you are just looking at the most recent 50 orders. Use the advanced form and keep changing your beginning order number back to where items are all shipped. For me it is about 10 days back I had to set the beginning.

I am currently at 200+ but I move up everyday, even on Sunday. For those of you who say you have not moved for a few days this is because you are not looking far enough back in the queue.

I ordered an 8gb on 7/18 and Iam currently 13th in line with no activity since friday. Just wondering if others who ordered on 7/18 are seeing good progress in their order or have even been shipped?
 
I ordered mine on 7/25 and was told a 2-3 wk wait which I understand. However, I have not recieved an email confirming my order. SHould I be worried?
 
What really surprises me is that we are almost 3 weeks past launch and At&T and Apple still have not caught up on orders. They need to step it up. I am with out a cell after August 1st until my iphone comes!

I wouldn't worry yet. It takes a few days before the email is sent out. With the weekend, it may have delayed it a little bit more. You can just check the order status page through AT&T to be sure that it shows your order.
 
Ok, here's my story for what it's worth. I ordered the black 16g iphone at noon on 7/17. AT&T charged 320.00 to my debit card that day. I never got any email confirmation of the order.

I have watched my place in line go from 40 down to 2, where I stand today. The odd part is AT&T credited my account 320.00 on 7/25. My order still shows as backordered and I'm still number 2 in line.

There were alot of phones shipped to my store on Friday 7/25 and I just missed the cut. The poor girl in front of me ordered her phone on 7/16, it must have been a black 16g too. I really have no idea when to expect the elusive black 16g. This whole experience with AT&T has been like stumbling around an unfamiliar room in the dark.

i was just reading some of these posts and gosh, that sucks for you guys who ordered the direct fulfillment. Apple stores are like never out of stock for the iphones now, and i just walked in one morning and got mine =)

Yeah, but the nearest Apple Store to me had ten people in line while I was at the mall and it wasn't worth it to me to wait in line. I also felt more comfortable dealing directly with AT&T as far as getting my plan sorted out.

Thanks for the info. My order doesn't even show up on the AT&T website. Keeps telling me it doesn't exist. It's starting to become annoying.

Aznsensation45 Not everyone is fortunate enough to live near an apple store to just walk in and grab one.
 
i think its kinda obvious that if we lived near an apple store we would have gone and got one by now. **** if we did, we could go get one and cancel our direct fullfilment.



By the way, is 50th pretty bad? I ordered a white one and they told me it would probably take 3-5 business days, said i should have it by the end of the week.
 
Mine is showing as delivered at 11:59am today. I don't know if they didn't call because my friend knows that I'm just gonna go down after work and get it or if they just didn't go through them yet.
