AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

Arggh

I can't figure out how to see where I am on the list... if anyone can help me out, I'd be much obliged. I ordered the black 16g on the 17th, was told it'd ship in 7 biz days.... so far nada.

My zip is 10025

The order number on the status webpage is: 29392

All I seem to get is: "No Order 29392 found Or ATT server is slow...." So I'm not sure if I'm screwing it up, or it is just slow....

If you just ordered, it takes a bit to get into the system.

Hah, both Apple stores in my town are usually "effectively sold out" by the time they open - that is, there are enough people in line to sell out their allocation.

In the mean time, I'm just going to go order a white 16GB through DF. I dont care what color it is since I'm putting a case on it anyways.

ya it should, i orderd one on the 21st and i have been in the system for awile now....maybe ur order is messed up...hopefully not..:(

Nevermind...I just figured it out. 6th in line.... sigh...

And the person ahead of me at 4 and 5, is listed as none other than:

Harold Belafonte!

Yep, I got to believe it's the King of Calypso himself! But sheesh, he really needs two??

same at my store, phone is there but they cannot give it to me because the system is down for activation. has been down since yesterday morning. this is complete BS and if its not up by the time I get off work I am going to be placing an extremely angry phone call to ATT.

Fudge... same here. I called my AT&T store to tell them I want to pick up my phone that was delivered today and they told me the same thing. The lady said they have been down since 1 and to call back in an hour. I hate AT&T, why couldn't Verizon have iPhone. I want my darn phone now!!!:mad:

Because Verizon smegged up when they laughed in Job's face when he presented the iPhone to them first, BEFORE ATT.

Because Apple, a worldwide company, didn't want to be locked into a piece of technology only used in one portion of the world.

Because no matter how much whining you or anyone else does, it won't make their iPhone get to you any faster[1].

[1] For the record, I've jumped from #35 to #26 and back to #36 in line at my store, over the past 3 days. Ordered 16GB White iPhone on 7/25.
 
Waiting...waiting...waiting

I place my order on 21/7 for 2 8G and still waiting...Im not even able to check the status of my order on the ATT website because im switching companies, I calle they told me they should be shipped tomorrow and should have it here by Friday or Monday..... can't wait!!!

sweet :) the guy that i ordered it from said that i was the first person to order a white one in almost a week. im betting mine is next on the white iphone list

Good points, but Im not talking about that, I think your right. Im talking about customer service, IMO its better in Verizon then AT&T.

don't use your zipcode, use the stores zip code
 
many thanks for the link to the queue checker. I found that I am #97 of ALL orders of the iphone in my particular store and roughly 50 people ahead of me who still don't have it. The wait continues.
 
when it says SHIPPED on the herebethedragons.com website how long after that should the AT&T store receive it? Does that mean it has shipped out from apple warehouse or has been shipped to the AT&T where in gonna get it.

Same here...I'm 62 on the list, but noticed the 'qty back-ordered' status change from 1 to 0 today. Placed order 7/25. Hoping supply chain is starting revving up.

Yeah, my phone is switched from a backorder of 1 to 0 now...I am hoping with all their issues over the last two days, it will open up to a slew of phones coming in, and maybe even tomorrow mine may be there.

Ordered an 8gb from a Reno store on 7/19, so tomorrow would put it right in line with the 10-11 days it has taken all the phones to ship so far to this store.
