AT&T - iPhone 3G on Backorder for 5-7 Days.

White

Seems like the whites are taking longer than they did last week. I ordered mine on Tuesday, the 29th and it's been on backorder and off for the past couple of days. I only have 3-4 people that ordered white ahead of me and all of those were ordered on the 29th as well. Last week, all whites (over at least 50 from my store) were shipped the next day or the day after. Still waiting for it to be shipped, anyone order white this week? Monday's have shipped out as far as I know.
 
I ordered my 16GB in black on 7/21 when i last saw the queue some peoples iphones shipped on 7/21 except mine and another persons im keeping my fingers crossed it'll be shipped tonight since im not on backorder at the moment.
 
sweet. i was reading on here and noticed people who ordered them on the 24th were not on backorder anymore. just checked mine and i'm off as well. i am #5 in the queue (i took a screen shot yesterday so i can just plug the numbers in) and the #1 person is still on back order (must have ordered the 16GB) but only 3 others in front of me, and they are off backorder. hopefully us 4 get ours shipped tonight.

do they still ship out tonight?

Are you using the HereBeTheDragons queue to find out your status? If so, how are you able to get it up and running? I've been unable to do a thing with that site since last night.

nah i took a screen shot of it yesterday when i moved up to #8. basically the numbers are just one less than mine. but i just look at the ones that were not shipped yesterday and type in the numbers on the AT&T site.
 
FWIW, everyone, I wouldn't relate your place in queue to getting the next iPhone at your store. Keep in mind that none of us know what phone the people in front of us or behind us ordered. We just see that they've ordered, quantity, date they ordered, freight, and shipment date. Case in point is with me. ordered on the 7/25, shipped 7/28. There were people who ordered on 7/16 at my store that still hadn't received their phone. In their eyes, I was a good 100 people behind them and I got my phone before them.

Not to bring anyone's hopes down, but just don't be surprised to see if someone after you had their phone shipped before yours, even if you were 20 or so people ahead of them.. :eek:

i'm back on the backorder list i'm still debating if i should just go into AT&T and cancel my DF order and just buy my 16GB iphone in black at an Apple store and just wait in line.

Quick question - are the phones shipping on the weekends as well?

I'm next in the queue with 0 backorder status and really don't want to have to wait until monday for it to ship.

LOL, well it appears i went off of the back order list again tonight so maybe there is hope, since ive been #2 in the line queue since yesterday.
 
I've been #1 on my ATT list for 3 days now and my 16GB black (ordered on the 20th) still hasn't shipped :(
 
how do you know you've been number 1 for three days? the queue site is down. are you using a different site?

Because 3 days ago I was #1 (all the orders before mine were shipped or canceled)

You can always type in the order #s manually in the ATT site if you have the patience.
 
Finally my iphone 16GB in black has shipped!!!! this morning i was checking the person ahead of me and theirs is still on back order and mine shipped yesterday its been a long few weeks since i placed my order on 7/21/08 so maybe calling the store and inquiring on my order helped. the only issue i have now is it was shipped out at 7:00 on 8/1 which means the ATT tracking system is behind and not up to date since i checked my status around midnight and it still said backorder, the estimated delivery time is monday 8/4 at 3pm fed ex must not delivery on saturdays?
 
My 16GB black iphone just shipped too. Ordered on 7/20, should be available on 8/4. My long personal nightmare is almost over.
