I just sat on hold for 30 minutes with AT&T and finally got through to a tech. Whom I could hear breathing. And tapping at a keyboard. And the various techs around him/her. I said "Hello?" a few times with no response. After 20-25 seconds, I said "I can hear you breathing, and all the background noise" and which point s/he scoffed a bit and disconnected the line.

If I could have reached through that phone and choked them I would have.

Calling again to hopefully get some answers. I swear if I get hung up on again I'll lose my mind!
 
OK, I ordered the 15th at 9:30 AM Eastern. I am still backorderd so if you ordered after me, GET IN LINE. No more complaining until I get undated ;) That should cut down on about 40% of the posts!:rolleyes:

I missed this claim. When did ATT say this?

The "Order confirmation" email received right after placing the order states:

Additional items added to the cart at the time of your pre-order may ship separately depending on availability. All pre-orders taken online are being handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The "recent order" email I received on the 16th also states.

Thank you for your order. Your iPhone4 pre-order has been received and is being processed
in the order it was received.
You do not need to take any action. You will receive an email from
us if we need any additional information.
 
Oh noes. So I got a shipped notification and even got a tracking number. However that tracking number hasn't work since I got it on Sunday. It said my phones were ordered on the 15th and were shipped on the 18th. No big deal, right? I just assumed it would work once it got into Fed Ex's system.

Started getting a little worried today so I just checked my credit card and the hold that was on the card has disappeared and the pending charge is now gone. Anyone else have any problems with this stuff?
 
In the order confirmation email.

That phrase was not used in my order confirmation email and I ordered on the 15th at 1:50 pm EST in a local ATT store.

Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to ship on or after June 24, 2010. Your order details as well as activation instructions are included below.

Backordered until early yesterday evening on AT&T site when the backorder "1" turned to "0"

This morning at around 8am I get shipper null and a Fedex tracking number with delivery for tomorrow.

Shipping to San Francisco, CA.
 
Has anyone who ordered IN-STORE received shipping information? I was the first to order mine at my store last week and my order has been "In progress" ever since. Still no signs of it shipping.

Yes, I went to my local store here in Columbus Ohio and ordered one on June 15th at around 3:00PM. The order was taken manually on paper. I got a confirmation email that day at around 6:20PM. Earlier this morning I checked the order status page and noticed my order was "Shipped" and there is a UPS tracking number (which isn't in the UPS system yet). I also got a confirmation email today at 7:57AM saying "Your iPhone order is staged for pickup by our shipping carrier. Your tracking number is shown below." It also mentioned that tracking info might not be available for 24-72 hours.
 
Shipped June 22!!!

Mine just shipped today as well. Also through UPS with NDA Saver service. I ordered at 2:35 on 6/15 with AT&T. Oddly enough, mine is coming from TN.
 
Looks like my order has progressed to "In Transit" via Fedex from Dallas.

I guess we'll know tomorrow morning if we're getting our phones, Fedex usually says "On Delivery Truck" early in the morning or something like that.
 
Both of my ATT preorders say they will be delivered by 3:00pm on the 23rd by FEDEX!

I preordered a 32GB at 1:30am pacific on the 15th, and a 16GB at 11:00am. I had a shipping confirmation for the 1:30am order yesterday morning, though the FEDEX tracking number did not work. This morning I had a shipping confirmation for the 11:00am order, and now both of my tracking numbers work. Both are "in transit"

Nothing for me. Ordered my 16GB on the 15th, been "processing" on Premier and "in progress" on AT&T, with no updates since the 17th.

Excited for all the other people getting theirs tomorrow, but I have a bad feeling I won't be getting mine on the 24th
 
Just got a call from an AT&T rep that I'd talked to earlier today. She said that she'd followed up to make sure my order was being processed on time. Told me that it is off boackorder and currently being processed to ship so that I'd have it by the "24th or 25th".

While I had her on the phone, I checked the AT&T order tracking site. Still shows as backordered. She says she went into the "direct system" and made sure.

Good thing they don't keep just one database. Who knows the kind of havoc that could be caused if everyone had the same information.

Kudos to her for taking the initiative to follow up though.
 
I ordered at 5:30 PM EST on Tuesday and mine is in transit from Memphis, TN (UPS)!! :) Hopefully it comes tomorrow!

No charge on Amex so far.
 
Let's hold off on saying that AT&T lied or committed fraud because they're not shipping first come, first serve and you ordered at XX:XX am and are still In Progress, and orders from XX:XX pm are being shipped. We don't know for sure that these phones haven't shipped...it's just more likely that these particular orders haven't been associated with a tracking number.

HA! I ordered at 1am PST 6/15 and my status still shows back-ordered.
Premier site. Lovely. Let us know what you find out.

(For the one that commented...when I called AT&T they said the orders were being filled first in first out. BS)
 
I missed this claim. When did ATT say this?

In my confirmation e-mail:

"Pre-orders will be fulfilled beginning June 24, 2010. Orders will ship on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you by email when your order ships. Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email."
 
No luck for me with 7:00 AM EDT order on 6/15

I am certain I was one of the first to order my upgraded 32gb black phone. I got in at 7 AM and then went 48 hours without an email confirm. Finally on 6/17 I received an email confirm, although it showed a 6/16 order date. I have never shown back ordered, but I have still not shipped either.

Id love to track it if I find the flight no.... I tracked my iPad from China and THAT was fun!!!!

Same exact status here dj4uofa. I see you're from Tucson, I too am in Tucson. Tucson customers might be getting them shipped tomorrow and arriving on the 24th. I went from 'Back Ordered' to normal status as of this morning, so that is a huge plus. I'm thinking we get ours on the 24th, we should see shipping information tomorrow or late tonight.
