**AT&T iPhone 4 Order Status Thread**

Dude, I'm still weirded out right now, i ordered 2 iphones (16gb and 32gb) around 7:50pm PST in store also and here is my status:

First thing at the store, i order the 32gb for me

Then i ordered the 16gb for my sister BUT this shows to be shipped first!

Then i got this a second ago about the 16gb, i dont know if its the confirmation email or what

successfully preordered at 10:14 AM EST on the 15th. i was 1-0-0 last night, and now i have tracking number from fedex :)

but tracking number shows nothing on fedex page yet.
 
Ventilating speen of frustration here...

Ordered 15th at 5:30am Eastern on AT&T. No problems. never got confirmation email, but since have received the "let's talk" email, the CSS, and now the "thank you for your iPhone 4 upgrade" text message.

Have a FedEx tracking number. it doesn't work, but I have one. FedEx swears they never heard of such a number.

Order number 5051299****.... Is this order number range the illegitimate stepchild range?:confused:

Oh well, I suspect I'll see my phone in June. Maybe.
 
Ordered mine on 6/15 at 9:20AM CST on the att regular site. No updates at all on order information until just a few minutes ago when it finally showed as shipped on 6/22. Tracking shows estimated delivery for tomorrow.
 
ok so i preordered 730 am eastern on the 15th..ATT page shows my order date as the 17th as a result of my cards fraud dept flagging the purchase (idiots). anyways got the email :D i went from 1 backordered to none last night around 11PM...so plan on 8-9 hours from your backorder going away to a change in shipping data?

mine says delivered by 6/23 as well...hmmm. also weird that i checked right after i got the email and all the Fedex data was present. i thought there'd be a 12-24 lag in updating tracking info but i guess not

have any new customers who ordered the 16 gb gotten shipping info? i ordered at 320pm eastern time, new customer, 2 16 gbs, never on back order... =( where is my shipment? people who ordered even 5 hours after ME (and i ordered late, compared to the rest of you) have gotten theirs shipped. =(

I ordered a 16G model. Regular AT&T website, finally was able to get through on AT&T website around 5:45pm and completed order process about 6pm EST. Something is definitely fishy with the chronology of these filled orders. I think "will be processed in the order it was received" means more like "processed in the order our computer system finally decided to acknowledge your order's existence.

Hope you get your shipping conf./tracking info soon! This whole thing's been one big clusterfrak from start to finish!

I ordered a 16GB at around the same time (7:30pm PST), mine shows in progress still. It was never back ordered, and I got the confirmations, etc pretty quick.

I sure hope so man. We are actually in Santa Monica for the summer (nice to be in 68 degrees instead of 108!) so it is getting shipped out here, but we'll see.

is yours still listed as backordered?

if so call 866 499 8008 and speak to someone - they'll be able to tell you your phones "place in line" before it gets picked by shipping company
 
Hey guys. Long time lurker here, but I finally have something to contribute.

I have been having massive issues with my ATT Microcell, which led me to filing a BBB complaint. Earlier this morning I was contacted by a person from AT&Ts Office Of The President (which I’m sure is just a higher level of customer service) anyway after sorting out my Microcell issues I brought up the issues in this thread. Basically, you can take it for what it’s worth but here is what I was told:

1. ATTs plan was a first come first serve one. However all the server problems caused massive issues to the order. She said that basically every order from online, as well as in stores (which ended up being manually taken) had to be re-entered into their systems. They had a special team do this, and that’s where "human error" came in. It was very difficult to have 50+ people manually entering in all the info at separate locations in a chronological order. She also said that people who ordered in the early am may actually be bumped to the end of the line, since it was the hardest to recover those orders. Yet she also said that she believes all people who ordered on the 15th regardless of the time should have then by the 24th.

2. She also said don’t go by what you see on Fed Ex, or even your ATT order confirmation. That since Apple originally wanted everything delivered on the same day, these invoices get "manipulated" in order to ensure the end result is a delivery on the day Apple specifies. Then the selling out threw a wrench into the works, plus the server meltdown, plus the manual entering etc. (Bottom line, they screwed the whole thing up).

3. Finally, she said she is aware of the new ship date of the 23. She said it is a real request by Apple to cut down on the server load the 24th. Yet she also said (off the record) she feel like most of their problems are due to lack of information from apple, and them consistently changing things like this. So she said considering they said all along, "DONT DELIEVER OR SELL UNTIL THE 24th" ... don’t be surprised if even though they are now saying a 23rd delivery is ok, that the other companies involved can just change everything last minute.

That’s about it. Take it for what it’s worth. She may really be in the loop, or just a higher level customer service agent trying to appease me. Either way i thought i would share the info. Also, I have read the last 20 pages in this thread yet, but i ordered through ATT on the 15th and 4:00PM EST. My order confirmation came days later and said i ordered on the 16th. I got tracking info yesterday, which just actually showed information this morning for a by 3:00PM delivery on Wednesday.
 
just called ATT. I ordered premier 6/15 5:45am eastern 32 gig and still on backordered.

the guy i talked to was extremely nice and as helpful as he could possibly be. he checked my info and made sure it was all right and that it had been processed.

he was totally honest and said that the AT&T systems are a complete wildcard at this point. everything looks good for thursday but he obviously couldn't guarantee it. the "first come first served" shenanigans is also just that, shenanigans. they have people holed up in cubicles doing each of the premier orders by hand in batches, and since the systems were so messed up last thursday, its near impossible to put them all in chronological order and then do the processing and shipping, so they just do them as they arrive on their desk.

hope this makes people feel somewhat better. no it isn't specific and doesn't explain if people in my boat are getting the phone on thursday. But at least he acknowledged that the systems being so messed up are out of anyone's control.

Same here...orders around 5:40am on 15th..still nothing showing up on fedex page yet. The first come first serve line is complete BS. People who ordered after us are getting theirs on the 23rd possibly. :mad:

Next year I'm ordering from Apple even if it takes longer to get through.:apple:
