Got my 2 phones ordered and confirmed on launch day, albeit manually. Got the 2 emails for my 2 phones...all good right? Nope. Got a call from my bank today to ask me about 2 charges that they flagged as possible fraudulent charges. It was actually both charges for my iPhones. They held one and rejected the other. They have since cleared the way for the hold to go through but no idea on the second phone. The AT&T store is not sure because they can't reauthorize the charge because their system is down. To their credit they are going to work with me. They told me that if I got there at 7am and my phones were not in the shipment, they would make sure I left with my phones. Of course he promised nothing, just said he would work with me. Unreal.
Folks, I got my cacellation email this morning, but only got 1 email....I ordered 2 phones. I have a feeling my experience is much like most of the people getting their stuff cancelled...see above. I believe this is one of 2 things. I think it has to do with banks flagging the holds as possible fraudulent funds and also folks paying with a debit card and not a credit card like I was told we were suppose to...after the fact of course. Kind of like that woman who wasn't allowed to pay cash for her iPad. Why not?
Anyway, my suspicion is that people that ordered more than one phone probably had their fund flagged by their bank and that caused AT&T to cancel the order. In my case only the second phone was cancelled....so far at least.
Regardless I'll be there early on Thursday.

I called my CC immediately after the order to notify them about my order to avoid this problem. I also called and broke through to a higher level CSagent and had them manually port the numbers while I was on the phone. as it turns out, they had the wrong info, which would have resulted in a cancellation.
We'll see what happens, but sometimes you have to be proactive with these things. Especially when a bunch like ATT is involved.

Oh, and my credit card hasn't been charged.
My order went through at 630 PST on the 15th and I am prepared for shipment. If yu read a few posts up I even had a problem with my CC. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and call a human.....
Well that's encouraging. My order was around 6 PM EST. Calling AT&T right now...
Yeah my CC was held by Chase last week and I had to correct it. I believe they thought me paying my phone bill AND ordering an iphone was theft.....dummies.
