i ordered through premier. it had 1 for backordered for the past few days. today when i checked, the backorder is now at 0. i guess its moving along.
 
Oh, so the people who ordered through ATT won't get theirs on the 24th????

I don't think one can say that. I ordered my 3GS from ATT last year and the same process happened. I actually didn't get a status update until after my phone arrived. I got my 3GS last year on launch day.
 
My pre-authorization charge dropped off this morning and I still see "backordered" on my order status. I am not freaking out though, I'll survive if it doesn't come on 24th.
 
Email confirmation

Mine was never in the backorder stage as it when directly to processing, including the pending of the charge on my credit card. Now I did get an email from AT&T stating:


Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to ship on or after June 24, 2010. Your order details as well as activation instructions are included below.


We have a sales rep assigned to my company so we order through business care. She informed me prior to ordering that they would be shipped early in the week and be "delivered" on the 24th. After forwarding the email I received to her she was very vague on when I should expect the phone. Did anyone get an email stating their phone would be "shipped" on any date earlier than the 24th? :confused:
 
This may have been discussed before but; Does anyone else's order say it was placed on the 16th when it was really placed on the 15th? Mine does... Do I need to call AT&T to fix this?
 
Getting a little worried now. I just checked my paypal debit card account, and this is what i found. The money for the iphone 4 has been refunded, or released off hold, and back into my account. Does this mean I won't be receiving an iphone on the 24th?

I was able to successfully preorder thru the AT&T website at about 5:15am est. I'm hoping that I receive my iPhone on the 24th. My order date shows the 15th, and it says my order is "in progress". They have authorized my card, and here's hoping that it shows up!!

Same with me. I ordered around 9am EST on the 15th and it is telling me that the order was placed on the 16th. I called ATT yesterday and they told me that the only info they have is that I will get it from the 25th-28th of this month. I do hope he's wrong, but I can wait.
 
Just a tangental comment, since the media constantly reports all of the problems people have with AT&T. I have had Verizon for years, and the network is great. HOWEVER, their customer service call centers have consistently been horrible. Their value proposition seems to be good product, crappy customer experience.

I just got off the phone with AT&T's call center, and the experience was STUNNING:D There is no way the person could have given me a better experience! After initial confusion (my fault as I did not tell her I ordered through AT&T Premier), the CSR explained she could not access my order as it is in a different department. She offered to call that department for me, then came back to apologize for being on hold for 60 seconds and offered to give me the premier 800 number in case it turned out Premier is closed on the weekend. I took the number and said I could just call them myself, and she insisted that she take care of me. She came back 30-60 seconds later and said she confirmed Premier is closed on the weekend, but that she was able to have someone in Premier look up my order, and I am good to go for launch date! This is nothing like Verizon Wireless, where my wife once had two of their CSRs arguing with each other while she listened in... :)
 
I have had AT&T for a long time. I cannot remember the time frame, but what I can say is that it was AT&T, then Cingular, and then back to AT&T while I have been a customer. They have always been good to me, no complaints whatsoever. As long as there are no major service changes on my end, I will always be an AT&T customer.

I am in the same boat. I placed mine approximately 1:45 pm EDT on the 15th. Premier shows my order date as 6/15 but the AT&T Order Status shows at 6/16. Mine is still backordered for the phone, sim, and freight.

My pending charge is gone too. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I got my
order in early on the 15th and the $217 and $1 charges were in my pending charges up til this morning. Anyone else seeing this? My AT&T order still shows in progress.
 
Yeah I don't know why so many people bi$%h about AT&T I have never had a bad experience. Now one of my co-workers on the other hand he went through 8 BB Storms, 8 hours to customer service, and ten trips to the local Verizon store. On another note I too ordered my phone like 10 minutes after they opened the doors and mine said 1 under back order up until last night.
 
To people who don't have various sim (I do, just curious).. Did you schedule to pick it up in store or did you have it shipped? If you pick it up in store they will probably give you a SIM there..

And yup, seems to be a solid 0 on the backorder. :)
I scheduled for store pick up and I have Various SIM listed on my order.

i got red flagged by verizon CS once for aruging on the phone with the supervisor when i wanted to cancel my account. so i went to the store and they wouldn't talk to me after they pulled up my account and saw what happened prior to walking in.

Premiere shows that I ordered on the 15th, but the non-premiere method shows the 16th with backorders. Hopefully their systems just aren't communicating properly and I'll get my phone on the 25th, but I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T has bungled something yet again.

I can wait as well, but why should I? I pre-ordered in the early hours on the first day that pre-orders were accepted. If I wanted to wait, I'd have ordered on the 26th or later. :|

I've been on Verizon and I wasn't any more happy than ATT. I had coverage issues just like every other carrier I've been on (and I've used many of them over the years). I've been with ATT exlusively since '06 and Cingular for some time before that and I really don't have any complaints. Whats happening with the iPhone 4 now would happen to all the others I can assure you......Possibly worse!
 
Nothing changed in mine: still says "processing," nothing listed as "backordered," and the hold still placed on my AmEx. Ordered just before 2:30pm CDT.

I can't believe how OCD I've been about checking this.... :rolleyes:
