Update!!!
I can now confirm the OS001 error can update to an actual order.
I just looked at the order search page and I now have an order listed. My order is for 2 iphone 4's and doesnt say backordered either. The order did change to 6/16. Also my credit card now has a charge listed.
So good news for those others like my situation Yipeeeeee LOL!!!

What a difference a day makes.....now Apple's website says if you order today delivery will be July 14th. Wow!!! If somehow my order doesn't go through with Att&t, I will be camping out at an Apple store June 24th. LOL!!!!
I'm still backordered. I ordered at 5:11 AM on the 15th. Still in progress as well.
Am I ****ed? I also reserved one for pickup at a store as a backup. I did that right at 4.

'Backordered' and/or 'In progress' seems to be common for most. Don't expect it to change (though it may remove from the backorder column) until it's actually shipped.

Hmmm.. Ordered yesterday at about 530am CT through ATT premier. I got the premier email that says "AT&T Premier Order Received" and has a order number, is that the confirmation email?
When I check the AT&T Website I have checks over "Quantity Ordered" and "Quantity Backordered". It wasn't like this yesterday, so I'm not really worried. I'm sorta sure I'll get the phone on release day.
Also, my credit card had a charge for AT&T yesterday, but today it is gone... I'm hoping that it's just processing and will return or maybe they'll truly charge when shipped.
Hope my phone arrives on the 24th!

Ordered on launch day around 1:30 am PST
never got confirmation email and got charged $1 on my credit card
called yesterday and they gave me my order number and said it takes awhile to process
today, still not processed, called them, on the phone for 2 hours, and still they havent updated the order, kept getting that error that doesnt recognize i made any order
then now its finally processing AT&t just charged or put a hold for my credit card for $254.XX

Sounds like everyone who has their dates as 6/16 is probably the reason why AT&T isnt taking preorders today.
Their systems dropped a lot of orders.. so they are putting their full force into making sure those peoples orders are entered in the system so today they are manually adding anyone who wasn't seeing their order yesterday.
Hopefully we all get them on the 24th!

I ordered mine yesterday at 5:30 AM though it wasn't finalized until 11 this morning (all Central time). Was told by worker I will get mine the 24th. I also included the first several numbers of my order number. I still subscribe to teh theory orders will be shipped out in numerical order based on order number.
As for people freaking out about the status, this is what you see when you click on the word "In Progress":
So you should only ever see two things: "In Progress" and "Shipped" Tracking info won't show up until the 22nd at the earliest.

Hey you are right. Im still getting the OS001 but AT&T just preauthed my cc for the amount of 2 phones. Things are looking up!
Yeah, it really doesn't look like a June 24th arrival has anything to do with which date the order was supposedly placed on (the 15th or 16th). It will probably be luck of the draw as to who gets a June 24th delivery and who ends up waiting. Annoying to say the least!

EDIT: My credit card showed the drop in available credit about 2 minutes after my order at 10:31 AM PST yesterday.
*639# on the line I used the upgrade on retunrs an error message "Can't access that info now, blah blah error number blah", *639# on my other phone does not do that.
So it looks like I'm good to go and I'm in the system!
EDIT 2: I dislike how my order number looks so much different than the rest of yall.

I'm not always the optimist but I think anyone who placed their order in the system yesterday and can see it now should get their order on June 24th. They are not accepting anymore orders so it gives them time to catch up. I can't wait!!!!
Ok one of my orders is showing up which is weird because It was the second order that I placed. Unfortunately it says backordered

- Now that order is available to view online it shows I ordered it on 6/16
- Order is not showing as backordered
- CC has not been charged (although my printed invoice says CC's won't be charged until shipped - debit cards right away)
- AT&T site says I am eligible for upgrade on 11/17/2011
- NEVER received an email (even checked spam folders)
All this makes me cautiously optimistic I will get mine on 6/24. Still mystified by the lack of an email...

Everything is different for everybody, but I talked to a rep on the phone today and she said that my order looked fine and should be shipped on time. I wish they would just go ahead and charge my debit card though.
I never received an email either and my order is in process. I started trying to order it at 4am and finally ordered it at 4pm yesterday. At least we can see it. Some people do not even see their order yet. I'm going to check the status everyday just in case something changes. "Cautiously optimistic" is a great way to put it.
CALL THEM NOW!!! They may need to manually rerun your credit card. If you don't you may find your order cancelled! They did that with me and told me had I not told them to rerun it, the order could have been cancelled. But because they did rerun it, I kept my original place in line.
