yeah... 16 gb are taking longer to ship... my 32 is already on it's way and the 16 I ordered same day (7/2) is still on backorder

Perhaps you should see about getting a number to their executive customer care line and see what is going on. I doubt you will ever get a straight answer through just the regular people. They know nothing
My 16 GB that I ordered on 07/01 just got off the back list, and was shipped this morning at 6:24 from Fort Worth, TX. I live in Houston, TX so I was wondering if I could pick it up from the FedEx facility today since the estimated delivery is the 12th cause I don't think they do weekend delivery.

I've tried this before with mixed success. Most of the time you would need to contact your local FedEx hub and get someone willing to help. Most of the time however you won't get that person on the phone. One time I had them call the drive on the phone and I met him somewhere on his route. Super nice and really accommodating. But that is the exception rather than the norm.
I ordered 2 16gb on 6/29 at around noon on the premiere sit. They are still on back order!!! One weird thing is when i check my order status on the regular att site it says they were ordered July 3rd???? Any one else have this problem or know why this happened? Tried callin att. I waited for an hour and hung up.... wtf
It seems that the premier site has their own processing that then interfaces into the main ATT site. I ordered on Premier on 7/1, but it didn't clear to the main ATT site until 7/2. Sorry that I skipped ahead of you, we'll see if my 2 16GB phones come off backorder before yours do, or if somehow they still are fulfilled by the date they were ordered on the Premier site (unlikely).
Yes the 16GBs are more popular. BUT Apple made much much more of the 16GBs so it should almost even out (says the AT&T employee I talked to)

People in this thread ordered from AT&T. There's another thread for Apple orders here. AT&T orders are processing much faster than Apple orders. The other thread will be more up your alley, but Apple ships out of order, too. Some 6/16 orders ship later than 6/24 orders.
Well if they can just fill all the 32gb premier orders from 7/7, then I'll be happy. Perhaps I placed my order later in the day than you...
Most likely they will, I've seen at least 2 others with that order date also come off backorder. I placed my order at 10:35am PST, btw.
I am from Houston as well and ordered my 16 gig from att store on july 2 and as of today my phone is still on backorder!!! wth!!!

All three were delivered to the store at 11am today (7/9) Yes!!!
From time of ordering to delivery: 8 days total
(4 business days if you take into account the hoilday weekend. But I do not think AT&T looks at business days when they give an estimate...just portal to portal.)
Aslo....FYI to those who live in DFW....
Since the phones are coming out of Ft Worth, they are not being sent to Memphis first. They just hit a couple of distro centers within the metroplex and deliver EARLY the next day. So keep that in mind if you are expecting a home delivery.
