I had the exact same issue. Premier Order Date - 6/29. ATT Order Date - 7/11. Were you able to get them to expedite your order somehow?

Nope, nothing here. In the end, I was transferred to by a supervisor in premier customer service to someone else to maybe get my upgrade fee waived. I was transferred to someone who couldn't do anything about that until the order was finished.

Did you get them to expedite it somehow? if so, how?

No luck.

The wait begins

Placed an order on the apple website 7/4. Got an email on 7/12 saying there was a problem with my order and to call AT&T. Placed an order by phone 7/13 with AT&T.

According to the posts here, my long wait gets longer. However, it is true that misery does love company. I felt better as I was reading through this thread.

ordered 16gb 7/8 around 12:15am. backordered. hopefully these things ship out before tomorrow evening.

Off the phone with order status guy

I just got off the phone with the order status guy and he said that the iPhones have arrived at the warehouse but have not yet been processed for shipping. So, I guess that is good news... :D

The bad news is that there are over 2.5 million orders right now waiting to be filled!

Before I hung up though, he was quick to tell me that it may take 7-14 business days from the date that my order was processed to receive my phone. For me that is 8/2 at the very latest!

I hate to say it but you're just gonna have to take a deep breath and practice a little patience. Believe me I know it's tough when you want that new toy to play with. I personally am on day number 8 with my 2 phones still on backorder, but I figure they'll ship soon so no need to freak out....at least not yet ;)

I've gone about 2 weeks without any kind cell phone now and... *gulp* I just need a hug... *sobbing*

Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Ordered a 16g ip4 on 7/8 at 10 a.m. through at&t regular site.

Still shows on backorder

called at&t today, and she un-helpfully went to the same website and gave me the same info that I already had; i.e. nothing.

I asked her why some people who ordered after me apparently already had their phones. "We're shipping these in order received". OK, I guess a bunch of you are lying liars (and Apple employees are shining beacons of truth).

Oh yeah, so my complaining got something accomplished. I just logged on to at&t's site and in my account profile it now shows that my hardware is the Iphone 4. Hah!

I'd like to put a Death Grip on someone's neck.

Sigh. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

my order status

Initial order for 32g black iPhone 4 placed 07/10 with AT&T :)

Still listed as backordered as late as 07/13 8:30PM

Received shipping confirmation 07/14 8:15AM :D

Expected delivery by FEDEX 07/15 no later than 3:00PM

Now if only my Vapor case would get here, that would be perfection ;)

Edit: Delivered @ 2:23PM!!!

Omg

Update: after speaking with the at&t rep (including the 5 minute hard sell for home internet and phone service) today about why I am still 'in processing', I noticed that I had no phone service.

I'm on the phone with at&t right now. guess what? the first rep this afternoon activated the sim for the new iphone 4 that I won't have for quite some time yet. Said activation de-activated my current sim! So now their suggested fix is for me to go to an at&t store and get a new (old) sim, and then go back when I get the iphone 4 and get a (new) new sim since the old (new) sim will be deactivated when I go tonight to get a new (old) sim. Sigh.

I can't believe I'm stuck with at&t.

Eek! This is why I don't like to call phone companies when I don't have to. They mess with stuff that doesn't need messing with and then your are in trouble, then they can't figure out a way to fix it. Highly irritating!

Note: All phone companies do stuff like this.

Ordered via AT&T account rep (since it's a business account) on 6/23.

They won't provide ANY information, every time I request an update I'm told "who knows" in a different way. Usually following the typical "it's in high demand we'll let you know" scripted response.

Ordered on 6/23!

All I'm being told now is that the order hit fulfillment (whatever that means) on 7/9 but the order status is still "in progress".

I'm tempted to just have them cancel my order (reversing my upgrade) so I can just go into a store and start over. At least that way I'd feel more optimistic about receiving it within "7 to 10 days". Four co-workers already have theirs and they ordered through a local store (we're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so it is clear that location has nothing to do with the sloppy service).

I feel like my order is just lost in the void or something, and no one can tell me a thing.

that suckxxcoorrrzz

ordered 07/05 and still no tracking number.

Of course, I have mine, this is for my daughter (who is paying for her own!)

Arrived today. FWIW there was no update on status nor a status email until today, when it was delivered. We arrived home from a two day trip and the FedEx truck arrived within two minutes of our pulling in the driveway. My daughter stood at the driveway waiting for her to drive up.

Well, as it turns out the in-store people were not much better. Showed up at 7:10, put my name on the waiting list to have them help me, left at 7:30 for dinner, came back at 8:55 (they close at 9) and they were highly unhappy to see me. Pretty much refused to give me both a full sized sim and a micro sim (which will be used on the 4 when it comes, since the had to nuke the erroneously activated micro sim to give me service back today). I wouldn't leave without the micro sim and they eventually relented, but literally walked me to the door and locked it after me!

A few of you are probably familiar with me on this thread by now seeing that I have been pretty vocal throughout.

The Details:
  • Live just outside of Chicago
  • Ordered 7/6
  • Just came off of backorder tonight, approx. around 9 PM (!!!!!)
I'm assuming this means that I will get my tracking number and all that jazz sometime tomorrow and then maybe (hopefully) get my phone by Friday since people are saying that these phones are getting overnighted.

This would fall in line with their 7-10 day prediction of when the phone would arrive (emphasis on the 10).

I'm only writing all of this to give those hope who are seeing some people claim that they have been getting their phones in 4 day turnaround times (don't believe everything you hear on the internet, especially forums). Patience is key.

For those who have been waiting for an extended period of time... Sorry to hear that, I would definitely go into a store and complain though. Employees hate nothing more than some person walking in the middle of a crowded room and asking about why their customer service is subpar.

I'll be keeping the thread posted with my actual delivery status for a better gauge of how this process is treating me.
