I just ordered on 7-24-2010 at 6 PM and it just came off backorder today.
I also got FEDEX tracking numbers!

How come some are getting 2 day and others are getting overnight? I ask because with current trends I could come off backorder tonight or tomorrow, and if it's going to be overnight I may have it before the weekend
Girlfriend going out of town so that would be ideal!!

because some people went for standard shiping and other went for overnight (like me) lol.
I don't think that's right at all (unless it's a premiere thing). Mine was free shipping and I had no other option (and I looked, trust me lol).
Can anyone else clarify?

I ordered a 32GB in-store (non-premier) on 7/24. It was taken off back order on 7/27 (morning). Shipping info was updated within the last hour saying it will be delivered on 7/30 via FedEx 2-day service.
Same here, ordered 7/23, processed on 7/24, off backorder yesterday and shipping today with delivery tomorrow.
I should be getting my 4 later today but I just noticed something funny. In the shipping confirmation email ATT sent me, down below it has a link to "Support for iPhone 4G model"

Hi - UPS never gives actual time of delivery.
At our house I expect UPS between 4:30 to 6:00, since that's when they tend to come. The drivers have delivery routes and they tend to repeat them day after day.
Origin scan is a fairly useless data point for UPS tracking. Check it after it has had a chance to get sorted.
Also UPS NEVER comes early. If it is shipped 2 day air - it will be 2-day air. The only alternative is if you live in the same area as the shipper.

Just canceled my order from last night at Apple.com to order on AT&T.com since most people are saying it is faster. Hopefully I made a good decision

Came off back order today around 10am my PT time.
Had no tracking number as of 4pm my time.
Now I have a tracking number. No email from AT&T. But fed ex says delivery by 3pm tomorrow.
I ordered on the AT&T site, non premiere.
I was not given a shipping option by AT&T. So overnight is nice.
I am very happy. I have the weekend to find a case!!!!
