Premier or Not Premier

What is the difference in Premier and Regular? I know what Premier is, but does being a Business person make your phone shipped faster?

The general observation is it has been making some people's slower. No real proof of this, nor is there any reason. It might be completely random and we just saw a pattern and drew a conclusion from it.
 
32g 7/22 on Premier...off of back order...waiting shipping info. I'm so excited. Going to a music festival on Saturday and want to take some footage for my niece since her favorite band is playing. :)
 
Ordered my 16gb in store on 7/22. Still back-ordered (obviously). I'm hoping it comes by next Thursday (8/5) because Seattle Seafair is that weekend. I wanted to test out the camera.

The wait wouldn't be so agonizing if my 3G didn't have a broken lock button and silence switch. I can't even turn it off :(

I guess the only way I'll get mine is if it comes off today and they ship overnight tomorrow. From what I can gather is seems that some people are getting them shipped 2 day and some overnight. Is that correct? Any rhyme or reason to it?
 
Is ordering in-store faster than ordering from AT&T's website? Or it's the same?

By looking at previous posts, I think the average now is 9 days to get off BO status for both in-store and online (non-premier) ordering. Oh, and this is for the 16GB.

This seems like good news. I ordered a 16gb in-store on the 19th. I have no idea if it was premier or not, I'm assuming not.
 
Off Backorder!!!!!!!!

My 16gb came off of BO today around noon. I ordered on July 17th from Premier. Hope to have tracking data sometime tonight. Just glad it'll be here before the weekend.

If you are getting a discount via your employer/job/business than it's Premier. If you just paid what the usual plan rates are, it's not Premier. That's the only difference.

According to the premier rep I spoke to yesterday it's because they're "different sales channels". I have no idea what that means.

I'm FINALLY off backorder, sometime around 1:30 pm. I ordered a 32 GB from premier on 7/23 around 9AM. So excited.

Hah, you call 4 business days "FINALLY"? Anyways, feel good about making me super jealous, because I quite literally ordered everything exactly as you did, down to the time (9:11 AM Eastern!), but I am not off backorder...

Waiting for the White one to come out, then ordered Black right after the THIRD delay, like me :) ?

I say finally because all day yesterday I was watching folks with 23-25 July come off of backorder because they were non-premier. I literally JUST came off of backorder like 20 minutes ago, so hopefully you'll come off this afternoon too. (Fingers crossed!)

And that is exactly what I did. I figured if they were having that many problems manufacturing them, I didn't want one. It's going in a case anyway, a Speck CandyShell that's still on backorder with AT&T from 16 July. They have no idea when that's going to ship. Until it gets here, I have a couple of free with shipping cases that it can go in.

From what I've seen, it's a good bet that you'll get it by Friday. Unless, of course you're unlucky like a few of us. My order went off back order last Friday and it still has not shipped.

Were you able to find out why that is? Mine went off backorder yesterday morning, and it still hasn't shipped.

seriously. I ordered from apple june 29th.... a month ago tomorrow. they messed it all up and wouldn't ship it then I canceled and ordered in store saturday 7/24 at AT&T..

so hopefully I'll get it soon, but it's a 16 gb so I'm not counting on anything less than another week and a half

No shipping info for me either, Brien. I thought I would have shipping info last night if it came off back order in the morning.

I gave AT&T a call and they said that they didn't know why it hasn't shipped, but that they had 7-14 business days to complete the order. They did say that there were not any problems on my side.

Btw, Friday will be the 14th business day...(ordered July 12th, off back order 23rd)
 
Just read this on the Premier order status page in case anyone is interested (yes...I am refreshing every hour or so even though I just ordered on 7/24...very sad...)

Shipping Carrier: Unless you are an employee of UPS, USPS or DHL, your shipment should ship via FedEx.
