AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Just got my AT&T premier shipping e mail. So it's official.

Will i burn down the closest apple store/fedex terminal/at&t kiosk if it does not make it? Unlikely.

She told me stories about her daughter pre-ordering problems and then we got into talking about christmas..I don't how. But anyway, she read me a memo they got today. It said "expect a high volume of calls regarding a bulk shipment of iPhones. The phones are going to be released on the 13th via air to arrive on the 14th". She went on to say that my tracking # is part of a huge bulk shipment that going to go out all at once...Tomorrow. That's why we can't get info when tracking. So she said to check tomorrow and info will start showing up.

On a side note: she said that she just started her shift and I was her second call about the iPhone. She said the last caller said he HAD TO get a delivery confirmation because the package contained items for a medical emergency. She said "I just laughed to myself because it clearly tells me it's a cell phone" then she said "you guys are nuts. Lying to a fed-ex rep saying it's a medical emergency...you are all just crazy beyond belief..lol. So if any of u decide to call, be advised that they can see it's the iPhone before u make up an outrageous story to try and get more info.

And, will the person who called about the "medical emergency" please stand up and own it. I know ur lurking around this thread somewhere. Lol!!

I did not have the opportunity when I ordered by phone with ATT (only had iPhone 4 plan). I had to bail on Apple.com because they could not get past a PO Box on my account, which was simply my billing address, my shipping address was and always has been my street address.

So now the next saga will be trying to add AppleCare+. Hope Mashable is correct.

People are acting ridiculous. We all want the phone, but you all need to be patient. Getting all worked up and calling att every 30 minutes won't solve anything. :rolleyes:
 
Purchased mine directly from AT&T on their online store at about 3:45 on Friday morning. I then received three confirmation emails over the next couple of days. Checking on line order status gives me this: Date Ordered: 10/07/2011

Date Ordered: 10/07/2011

It all nets out to this:

Apple IPH 4S 64GB BLK PHONE---SIM---Various Freight
In Progress
Pending Shipment
Backordered

I have no idea what all this really means, but I know that it went something like that with my iPad 2 and it arrived on the day it was initially released in stores. I think that posting these shipping status and updates are way delayed. At least that has been my experience in the past with Apple, and they have always hit their target dates. We'll see!
 
My 16GB 4S ordered from AT&T has shipped as well. The FEDEX tracking number is not yet recognized on their site however.

Btw, I'm loving iOS 5.0 on my iPhone 4!

Got mine too, shipping via UPS. Not working yet, of course, since it's too early in the day. Might show up tomorrow if we're lucky, since it's going next-day saver!

Sure, there's a chance. Just like when I ask my wife if she wants to fool around , and she says "maybe". At that point the odds of me getting some and hitting the Powerball are neck and neck, but still, "there's a chance"!

Similar in the sense that I sold my 3GS in April and have been stuck with a Radio Shack basic flip phone without even a camera. I truly hate this phone and cannot wait for the 4. I've had iPhones since June 2007, and believe me...it does make a huge difference in your life!!!
 
delivery times

anyone know what time fedex typically delivers packaged. i called fedex and asked about my tracking number, and they said fedex has the package and it's being held til the 13th (tomorrow) so i would assume it is either coming tomorrow or friday. My point is, i work friday but im off tomorrow and was hoping that i might get my package before i went in to work on friday.

any ideas on when fedex typically delivers.?

So, do you think canceling the order and pick it up from apple store on friday is a better idea? btw, are they gonna have it in apple stores? Not the ones pre-ordered but for the regular orders?
