My order has shipped!

We ship both UPS and Fedex daily (both pickup from our facility). Fedex tracking usually updates within 10 minutes of the pickup occurring. The status will show as PICKED UP. That is when the delivery estimate will update in their system. There is no way for the Fedex rep to know when the delivery date/time will be until after Fedex takes possession of the package. The label can have a ship date of 10/12 (delivery for 10/13) when it was created, but if Fedex doesn't take possession of the package until 10/13, the delivery date will automatically update to 10/14 in their tracking system.

UPS seems to be a lot slower on their tracking updates after pickup. Our pickups normally occur at 4:30PM, and they do not start tracking on their website until after 7PM (at that point the "Picked Up" status shows up with a time stamp of the actual pickup - approx 4:30PM in our case).


I place it on October 7th about 8:12 am EST. Through AT & T website. I never had a problem. I also spoke with a Fedex rep and was Told that I can possibly recieve my order tomorrow. She said my order was super fast, which meant it is two days early. But I will most likely have it tomorrow. She told me to call first thing in the morning and if it is at the dropoff location, near mynhouse, I could even pick it up from there. Yay!

i live right up the street from a UPS store and i hope the same thing applies because i can't wait
 
So, in the midst of all the 4S enthusiasm, I pre-ordered the phone online through AT&T. I had been using 3G and couldn't wait to upgrade.

Now I am told that all AT&T customers who were still on the unlimited data plan could be 'grandfathered' into the same unlimited data plan had they gone to the AT&T store and pre-ordered the phone in person!

Is this true? Have any of you experienced the difference in data plans being offered by AT&T online vis-a-vis their stores? If so, what can I do about it? I had a perfectly great unlimited data plan on my previous 3G!! Did I just sign myself up for a paid LIMITED data plan?!

i don't think they change it without notifying you. although, when i pre ordered and used my upgrade, i was clearly informed that my UNLIMITED DATA PLAN was still there and NO changes to my bill were made at all. One thing for me to smile about i guess, but i just want my phone.
 
As far as I can tell, nearly everyone who ordered online has their shipping numbers and everyone who ordered on phone or at store doesn't?

I ordered online at 1am and am still backordered...

Ordered in store. Have shipping
 
My UPS number still isn't registering. I was hoping I may luck out and get it tomorrow, but that looks doubtful if it hasn't even been scanned into the system yet. It is overnight shipping.

I need to call and make arrangements to pick it up Friday before I fly out to NY. I can do that, correct?
 
You did have the opportunity to select the new Unlimited grandfathered plan for iPhone 4S when you preordered with AT&T.

i ordered through apple and was still able to be grandfathered into the unlimited data, doesn't matter who you ordered from or how you ordered they would have honored it regardless. apple gave me the option when i ordered. BTW ordered a white 16g from att and black from apple. the white 16 g from att still shows pre ordered (ordered at 5 am EST) just waiting on the regular att site my order is canceled but from premeir they say its still going to be delivered i had a big mix up with att giving me miss info so i started threatening to cancel all 3 lines ( just to let you know try it they offered me a very very very good discount on my bill) but thats just cus they really screwed up.
 
Received shipment notice!

I was type shooked like a lot of people may have been (ordered from At&T), but today at 12:14P EST I received an email notifying me that my phone has shipped. I am guessing for the people who ordered the phone launch day and time, and received an email stating that you would receive the phone on Oct. 14 then I don't think ya should worry... If no shipment notification is received by tomorrow then idk what to say, but to call and curse out anyone possible!

P.s even though there is a tracking # no info shows...:apple:
 
Cancel AT&T Pre-Order made via Website/Phone ?

Given these rumors of 21-28 days or longer wait and backorders, anyone considering canceling their pre-order made via AT&T website or phone to instead get their phone via Apple online or at an Apple store sooner?

Is there any fee or drawback to canceling the AT&T pre-order?

After a long ordeal, I have an order via AT&T phone with an email guaranteeing a grandfathered unlimited data plan and grandfathered 1500 Txt message plan... I'm worried I'll lose that if cancel and walk into an Apple store instead...
 
I ordered after you by n hour give or take, white 16gb 4S. I have a traciing number, 0 under backordered, and it says it shipped.

WTF why do u get a tracking number lol i have a business account maybe that effects it somehow? IDK but i hope i get it fir day my ip4 screen is CRACKED so i a need a new phone asap!
 
For those of you who won't be home and are receiving their shipment via Fedex... If they are shipped with a "Direct Signature Required", you most likely won't be able to over-ride that with a piece of paper. What you can do is wait until the tracking shows up and on the tracking page click:

Hold at FedEx Location
Not available to receive your shipment? FedEx will hold your shipment at a nearby FedEx location at no extra cost.


You can then have the package held at your nearest Fedex or Fedex Office facility. You will need to bring your government issued ID when you go pick it up from Fedex.
 
Just got my shipping notice today. The tracking number is still not showing any info on FexEx's website though...

Has anyone's charge hit their card? I understand from reading here, it should show the charge once shipped. The website says it shipped yesterday, yet no charge. I guess "shipped" isn't really accurate? I guess this ties into what i read on here about overnight shipping and it will hit my card tomorrow. I still think it's odd it says "shipped" and you have a tracking number, and no charge.

As others have said, wonder why it's shipping UPS. I thought FedEx was standard unless you work for UPS?

All this stress and I probably won't get it Friday because I have to work. Here's hoping I can pick it up from UPS either Fri night or Sat am.

I was charged the full price from AT&T last Saturday after ordering on Friday morning. I checked this morning, and the charge is gone. However, it shipped today, so I guess it will charge me again.
 
Anyways, I ordered the White iPhone 4S 32GB on Friday the 7th, at 3:45am CST. I was worried about my shipment all week, probably too much, lol. Today I finally got an update stating "shipped" and I have a tracking number. My carrier is obviously AT&T, but I do not have a premiere account. Originally, there was a pending charge on my account, but now it is gone. There are not any emails saying anything is going wrong, so I figure they will pull the money as soon as it actually ships or I recieve it, hopefully.

As you can see, the information is not available on the UPS side, yet. Hopefully that changes soon!

same for me! hopefully the tracking #'s get updated soon.
 
AT&T has received their shipments of the iPhone 4S. Looks like Apple is doing things different from last year. No early shipments for customers, only stores.

I received an email at 7:37 a.m. EST today with my shipping notification and FedEx tracking number. I ordered on Friday, October 7 at my local AT&T store at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The tracking number is not yet active in the FedEx system so fingers crossed.

64GB black.

I have a tracking number and it does not work on fedex.com. I did call fedex about 4pm EST and they told me that they had no information as to when to expect shipment yet, but that my shipment is part of a bulk shipment and it is currently in Fort Worth, TX. She said to check back later tonight and the information should be updated. So I think everyone who has a shipping number should be getting it by Friday!

What I think is happening is AT&T is sticking iPhones in fedex/ups boxes with tracking numbers. They are scanning that into their system, so can tell you what your tracking number is.

However, Fedex/UPS hasn't picked up the boxes and scanned them into *their* systems, so there's no record of it (at least for a lot of people).

It's no different from when you grab a shipping label at the UPS box and put it on an envelope. You have the tracking number, but until UPS picks up the box, it's not in there system. But you know the tracking number, just like AT&T does.

I received my order confirmation on October 7 at 1:20 am. Ordered 64GB White iPhone through AT&T site. Still listed with "1" under the QTY-BACK ORDERED column.

Hang in there... Our time will come! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow.
 
I ordered a white 64gb at 2:10am on the 7th. it still shows backordered. AT&T doesn't know ****, its gone from "Yes you will get it on friday" To "14-21 Days" to "21-28 Days" to "Its possible but i can't confirm it".

Are any other 64gb orders still showing Backordered?

AT&T better not **** me on this, I woke my ass up in the middle of the night and put up with their piss poor excuse for a "website", can't handle a couple hundred thousand hits at once...Bitches!

Still no tracking number says backordered. I ordered mine Friday Night 7:30 pm central. didnt get confirm email till Monday 10th night at 6:45 pm central. Says I odered on the 11th. ...Sucks Big
