What I really don't get is why so many people are surprised that they are probably not getting their phone on Friday.

It's really simple: If you wanted your own personal iPhone 4S, the newest generation of the best selling mobile device on the planet, to be delivered on the release date (or before for those lucky few), you probably should have made it a point to order it Friday before late afternoon/evening, Saturday, or Sunday.

AT&T has made it pretty clear that you are ok if you ordered before 5:30pm EDT on Friday, but that is only if you didn't have other issues pending, such as:

- You didn't accept your T&C
- Your credit card was declined
- You trusted someone over the phone or in the store to place your order for you
- You wanted to port your number
- You wanted to ship the phone to a different address than the billing address of your credit card.

I know some people are getting orders through that were not placed before the deadline, and some people that had issues such as the ones I listed above are also getting their phones on Friday. However, if you ordered after the cutoff or were cutting it close and chose to order over the phone or in the store, please just deal with the fact that you will likely not be receiving your phone(s) on the 14th.

Thank you for your wisdom master !!!

I m being sarcastic

you need to get off your high horse. Didn't we all entrust someone, either in a store or on the phone, to place our orders? I was standing right in front of the person placing my order and i ordered it at 10:30am est on friday.

White iphone is girly ! Dont u think ?

I do agree, somewhat, but they are still very nice looking. I did want the black, but will roll with the punches and accept the white (instead of trying to take the box in to an ATT store and exchange it!). I can tell myself they are more heat resistant to justify having it! But also a change from my previous iPhones isn't a bad thing anyway. Hmm... I am going to miss the lower profile of the black, however—a white iPhone is SO visible.

Alas, I should've ordered through Apple, but I needed to order unsubsidized and didn't find a way to do that online and Apple's phones were hammered.

Patience... must have patience...

And you're going to stay up to confirm this? :D
Wait, what time zone are you in?

EST and yes and I'm going to put up 100 smiley faces on this forum each in separate messages to celebrate...if you don't hear from me by then its because i was wrong and decided to kill myself...just kidding lol

You are about to get flamed so hard... by all of the people who meet one or more of the criteria you outlined. :p

Just got the "Your iPhone has shipped email" from AT&T. My guess is most of us with FedEx get them Friday morning, with maybe a 5% chance of tomorrow morning.

You even said you got an email originally that stated 14-21 days shipping....AT&T got a majority of their traffic via apple.com and at&t web orders, so I am sure they likely had more people working on those orders while in-store and phone orders got pushed to the side.

My post was not directed at people in your situation. You clearly ordered before the cutoff and got screwed, but there are people in here that ordered on Sunday and Monday and are moaning that they aren't getting it on Friday

Good on you Mate.
When did you order and how?

exactly

most of the ppl are going to port their number and for most of the people working need to be shipped at work address rather then home..

However, there was a way that if u change ur billing address on ATT.com , the shipping address on apple.com changes automatically.. offcourse b4 putting the order.

lol I put a disclaimer that some of those individuals would still get their phone. Heck, my credit card from my 5:30am order was declined due to "fraud protection" from Chase, but I still called in and gave them a different form of payment by 12pm and I have a tracking number

Good to see people are still just getting their shipping info... this maintains some hope for me. I hope mine's FedEx, actually, as UPS is usually less precise with their arrival times to my door.

Ok, so according to you, I did everything as exactly right as possible. I ordered online, at 10 am (only that late because ATT screwed things up), I used a good cc, I'm not a new customer, and I'm shipping to the address that's on both my cc and my wireless acct. And I STILL haven't gotten ANY kind of updates. I'm still at processing/backordered/pending shipment and have been for days. So explain to me, O wise one, WTF I could have done differently? And don't you DARE say order from Apple, because I tried that for three hours starting at 2 am.

most of the people?

So you assume that most of the orders came from people that weren't currently AT&T customers? I would actually think that most orders were from existing customers and that Sprint and Verizon probably had to deal with large volumes of people porting their numbers

and in terms of getting it shipped to work, why not just stop by a local UPS or FedEx facility and pick it up on your way home?

Nothing

My post was for people that ordered over the weekend or even this week that are complaining about not getting info. You clearly should have information.

You say people are not getting it that they are not going to get their iPhones. What I dont understand, why dont you get that we dont want your opinion.

I've had my tracking since this morning but haven't received the shipped email yet.

----------

do any of you ladybois have a UPS My Choice acct? How do we use this to ship our orders to a retail store?

I think you can do it once the package is found in the system.

I wish people would actually read my post (which I have now edited) and get that my point was being directed to individuals that ordered over the weekend or this week.

It's the equivalent to walking up to the Apple Store in NYC at 8pm on launch day and expecting to stroll right in and get your brand new 4S....probably not gonna happen

Ordered online from AT&T at ~5 am EST Friday, I've had my tracking info since early yesterday, so I'm hoping FedEx knows where it is when I wake up tomorrow. I'm thinking that it won't ever update and I'll just get the phone though

Well, Hell. At least someone agrees with me. I finally gave up on trying to get answers from customer service and have resorted to praying and crossing all my various appendages.

I'm not blaming all errors on the individuals placing the orders...clearly 99% of those errors are on AT&T's end. I was just sick of people whining about no status updates on phones that were ordered on Monday, but I have effectively stopped them from whining because everyone is now attacking me lol

Honestly, I hope you get your order this Friday. :)

Ordered launch day at 7:30AM and my status is still "In Progress" with a backorder qty of 1.

Call me crazy but I'm still confident I'll get it Friday :)

Edit. Should also add that it says "preparing for shipment" as well and I got an email with my new mobile number but no tracking haha
