Which status? The AT&T Premier order status? The UPS status?

Yup. Ordered 16g white from an actual store at 10:30am EST and it's still backordered.
Long time lurker here, first time poster.
I ordered my 32gb through the telephone on the 7th at 7 a.m central. I did so because I was worried about losing my unlimited data package. The primary reason was due to not being able to pick a different shipping address than my billing address on both ATT and Apple's websites. I assumed doing it over the phone would be the safe bet. Seems like I may be wrong.
I received the T&C email and replied back on Sunday afternoon. I then got an order confirmation from email on the 10th with no information regarding shipping dates. It only showed an order number, shipping order number, and the item number for my phone. Every time I try to check my order status online, the site shows the error message that I haven't placed an order within 24 hours. I do have two pending charges on my credit card still. Both charges for the phone and a $1 charge are pending from 10/7 still.
I have called ATT and I can't get a common answer from anybody. One rep said they do not ship overnight, to expect a shipment during a 5-7 window, and that it is not possible that anybody has received tracking numbers yet. Another rep has told me that I have it reserved, I would receive it on the 14th, and that somebody would call me yesterday to give me an update and explanation as to why I can't check the status. I never got the phone call.
I have only seen one other person that is in a similar position. Anybody else out there like me? I am in Fort Worth so I am still hoping I will get the phone by Friday.
I tried to keep it straightforward without any of the emotions I am feeling. This is the last time I will order through ATT. Hell, I am tempted to try to cancel my order and try to buy in store from a different city.
did anyone call at&t to change their shipping address only to have its final destination city being incorrect on the tracking #?
I'm in the exact same situation.
Is the status system showing processed or did the AT&T guy tell you that it is processed. Mine is showing processing and backordered but no estimated delivery date. I ordered on 10/7, received confirmation email on 10/7; checked status for 3 days not showing up. Called AT&T on 10/10 and they did not have record of order. On 10/10 at 8:00pm received confirmation email from AT&T with the original order number but it shows that I placed my order on 10/10/2011 and not 10/7/2011. No one at AT&T can tell me when I can expect my phone. They said that there was a system problem and there are many customers who have an order number that begins with 1401 that this happened to...I have no idea when to expect the shipping of my phone and AT&T could care less.
Ordered before dawn on the 7th. ATT says 10th. Still back ordered.
Oh well... you guys work all the bugs out before I get mine.

Edit: Also, more details: Premier customer ordered between 4 & 5 AM CST Friday.
wow ***** you at&t. i called, had the address seemingly changed, as "confirmed" by the shipping email yesterday. but tracking # said otherwise. called fedex, and they said yes in fact it's not getting shipped to the addresses i changed it to. no way to change it on their end.
I already posted this once, but only got one response so just to be sure I'll ask again...
For those who received the 14-21 day notification, has your status actually changed??

Seriously, AT$T bumbled the ****** out of this pre-order. I'm seriously thinking about getting out of my contract just due to their lack of effort and bad attitude.
what are the differences in the addresses? its being shipped to your billing address when you specified a different one? I changed my billing address from my hometown's address (where my family lives) to my new apartment where I go to school so I'd get it and I wouldn't have to have my parents send it up. (Its a long story, but its my account because i left verizon when my parents had it, then they got fed up and came to AT&T and joined my individual.)
Xeno, same situation, but I wouldn't worry. It may just be that the system is so overloaded that it has not updated yet. It could go from back ordered to shipping in a snap. That's what happened last time when we ordered the 3Gs iPhones.

Mine said processing and backordered, and the AT&T rep said that it was processed and getting ready to ship for tomorrow. Mine starts with 1014 though. Good luck with your issue though! Hopefully it will ship tonight or tomorrow, my order date online says 10/9 even though i ordered on the 7th, so that's a good sign for you too!
