AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Black 16GB.

Edit: Also, more details: Premier customer ordered between 4 & 5 AM CST Friday.

Anything. I only have the original email from ATT (not premiere) from last Friday where it said that it won't be shipped for 14-21 days.

I ordered my 32gb through the telephone on the 7th at 7 a.m central. I did so because I was worried about losing my unlimited data package. The primary reason was due to not being able to pick a different shipping address than my billing address on both ATT and Apple's websites. I assumed doing it over the phone would be the safe bet. I received the T&C email and replied back on Sunday afternoon. I then got an order confirmation from email on the 10th with no information regarding shipping dates. It only showed an order number, shipping order number, and the item number for my phone. Every time I try to check my order status online, the site shows the error message that I haven't placed an order within 24 hours. I do have two pending charges on my credit card still. Both charges for the phone and a $1 charge are pending from 10/7 still.

I have called ATT and I can't get a common answer from anybody. One rep said they do not ship overnight, to expect a shipment during a 5-7 window, and that it is not possible that anybody has received tracking numbers yet. Another rep has told me that I have it reserved, I would receive it on the 14th, and that somebody would call me yesterday to give me an update and explanation as to why I can't check the status. I never got the phone call.

I have only seen one other person that is in a similar position. Anybody else out there like me? I am in Fort Worth so I am still hoping I will get the phone by Friday.

I tried to keep it straightforward without any of the emotions I am feeling. This is the last time I will order through ATT. Hell, I am tempted to try to cancel my order and try to buy in store from a different city.

did anyone call at&t to change their shipping address only to have its final destination city being incorrect on the tracking #?
 
Ok, my tracking number is now working for FedEx. Estimated delivery to Phila, PA 3:00 pm 10/14! Anywho, the tracking number does not give me the current location. Any way of finding that out? I'm almost certain i'll have delivery tomorrow. Just curious. :p
 
Ordered before dawn on the 7th. ATT says 10th. Still back ordered.

Oh well... you guys work all the bugs out before I get mine.

Glad to know I wasn't the only outlier in the community. Hopefully we see our phones on Friday. I actually held hope I would receive it today since I am in the same city as where the phones are coming from. That hope is dwindling.
 
wow ***** you at&t. i called, had the address seemingly changed, as "confirmed" by the shipping email yesterday. but tracking # said otherwise. called fedex, and they said yes in fact it's not getting shipped to the addresses i changed it to. no way to change it on their end.

Mine said processing and backordered, and the AT&T rep said that it was processed and getting ready to ship for tomorrow. Mine starts with 1014 though. Good luck with your issue though! Hopefully it will ship tonight or tomorrow, my order date online says 10/9 even though i ordered on the 7th, so that's a good sign for you too!

Xeno, same situation, but I wouldn't worry. It may just be that the system is so overloaded that it has not updated yet. It could go from back ordered to shipping in a snap. That's what happened last time when we ordered the 3Gs iPhones.

what are the differences in the addresses? its being shipped to your billing address when you specified a different one? I changed my billing address from my hometown's address (where my family lives) to my new apartment where I go to school so I'd get it and I wouldn't have to have my parents send it up. (Its a long story, but its my account because i left verizon when my parents had it, then they got fed up and came to AT&T and joined my individual. :p)

Seriously, AT$T bumbled the ****** out of this pre-order. I'm seriously thinking about getting out of my contract just due to their lack of effort and bad attitude.
 
i like many others ordered over the phone friday morning. my order # starts with 310..

regardless, i am still on back order. my TC email didnt get sent to me until Sunday.

i am thinking i will not get my phone tomorrow. my only chance is an email confirmation that my phone has been shipped today :/

i agree, i wish i went with sprint at this point..
 
I'm becoming beyond po'ed and incrediby frustrated. My wife's has been shipped, even though I don't recognize the "reference" used with FedEx. Based on the order number I have a similar one under my name and it's still sitting at "pending shipment". If the situation hasn't improved by 11:30 am CDT AT&T will rue the day they withheld my 4s!!!

it's getting shipped to billing over my and my sister's address. it's a pain for my sis cuz she's in houston. not as big of a deal as for me, but it's annoying...

Man, I hope so since I'm working at home tomorrow then I'll be out of town Sat-Tues. I've never ordered for a release-day delivery. Regardless, if it's here when I get back Wednesday it'll be new to me then.

Checked today and got nothing. Still back-ordered. Of course, I ordered Friday around 8PM (I hadn't found out about the whole 5:30PM fiasco), so I wan't expecting any miracles. I will probably get up early tomorrow before work and buy one outright at the store and return the preorder iPhone.

First and last time I order a new release iPhone through AT&T.

btw, since we were in a similar situation - Crystal with Premier Support made it clear to me that it goes by the day the order was placed, not the day it was received by AT&T. Ex. I placed our orders on 10/7, AT&T processed it on 10/8, and there's a 10/10 date in there somewhere too. She assured me (for whatever that's worth at this point) that because my orders were placed on 10/7 our phones would be at our house on 10/14. My wife's order is showing shipped - picked up 10/13 at 6:27am CDT, info sent to FedEx 10/13 at 7:14 am CDT - seems backwards to me but it does say that estimated delivery is 10/14 by 3 pm. bummer because we'll be in dallas tonight. if only we could pull over the truck on i-35. :)

but hey, she has her tracking number so happy wife, happy car ride.
