Some of the iPhones came trickling into our station (FedEx) this morning. We were told DO NOT deliver these until tomorrow. Mine is coming UPS though.
 
No, interestingly, it is NOT currently showing as charged.

In fact, the pre-auth came for awhile, then went away, and I was bummed, thinking it was truly backordered.
Now, it is shipped, and there is no pre-auth, and no charge yet.

My acct hasn't been charged and my phone is being delivered tomorrow. Some people got charged after their phones were delivered last year.

Don't read too much into if you have NOT been charged. Now if you HAVE been charged (and I mean final charge...not the pre-authorization), that's another thing because they are not allowed to finalize the charge until they ship.
 
In-Store orders to be delayed

Just spoke to a Sr Mgr. at ATT about the delays for in-store pre-order.

1) Pre-Orders made INSTORE at ATT will be shipped in 2-3 weeks.
2) In-store preorders are considered automatically assigned for backordering
3) Online pre-orders are treated differently than In-Store Pre-orders in that they are higher priority.
4) AT&T is treating all in-store pre orders (made on 7th) as back orders & using their iPhone4S inventory for walk-ins tomorrow.

I Give Up. Had I known this, I would have ordered online. Never Ordering Anything from ATT inshore ever again !!

If this is true I am going to be LIVID. I went to the store around 6pm on 10/7 and pre-ordered the phone thru a co-workers husband. Maybe I was just in iPhone4S bliss but I don't recall him telling me I needed to sign something else via email. Grrr.
 
If you ordered your phone in store, did you agree to the terms and conditions then? Or is there still a separate terms and conditions e-mail that should be sent and agreed to?
I agreed to them in the store with a signature on the credit card authorization pad.

The manager is lying because I ordered in store at 1130am EST and my iPhone is on it's way as we speak.
 
I think in the hundreds of pages there were a couple of messages from guys who were going to use their company's AT&T rep to place the order for them rather than using the Premier site. I think the assumption was the AT&T employees would have clear sailing and the rest of us might not.

Sounded like this did not work out.

If the assumption was correct and the AT&T employee could easily place the order, fine, but if busy servers gave them problems my question is would they be as persistent trying to get through and place the order as you would, or would they be more casual about it?

Somehow I thought this might be the case based on a lot of the posts around here. I want to say AT&T did something like this last year. Anybody from last year recall for sure?

Edit: I think maybe it was reservations....people who thought they had reservations didn't or something. The stores prioritized the stock in the store for those waiting in line I believe.

But not sure how this should affect an order placed in the store that should be delivered from the warehouse to someone's home??? This makes no sense.

I told people this last night, but got my head chewed off for it. I'm glad someone else was told the same thing
 
i was pretty much told that orders are based on when TC was completed, in order for the entire order to complete. in this case, those who ordered over the phone, even early Friday, will not get their phone tomorrow. sucks for those including myself.

I completed my T&C at 10AM on 10/7 after placing my order over the phone. 1 of 2 will be shipped tomorrow.

Lucky! I do remember signing the pad in store, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't get a second e-mail. I just think it's really crappy if the majority of orders placed in store got put on back order immediately (obviously, you are an exception to this! :) ) I am new to iPhone and AT&T and was looking forward to having a new phone tomorrow!

For some reason I do not necessarly believe this... I ordered in store on the 7th @ 930a est. Everything went through ok for me, I signed my contract (brand new) in the store and have received all the emails everyone else received who ordered online. Fedex tracking expected delivery tomorrow before 1100a. Excited for mine, but sorry for everyone else who missed out
 
I have a question: i ordered an iphone 4s under one of my lines that are upgradeable, im going to use it for my number obviously. My question is do i activate it with the eligible number or my number? THIS IS CONFUSING FOR ME! Thanks:)
btw : i get mine tomorrow ^^ cant wait! :D
 
My fellow Californians, our iPhone 4's are enroute from DFW to ONT (Ontario, CA) as of 3:41 PM :D
