I had a White 16 GB ordered online through the premier site on 10/07 9:00 AM PST that was backordered until recently. It finally went to 0 for QTY_BACKORDERED and later I got a Fedex tracking number. This all happened in the last couple hours or so.
So, for anyone who ordered before the cutoff, had a charge on their CC before, I'm pretty sure you'll be OK. Who is still backordered that ordered on time?
Mine is shipping via UPS and is still in DFW. It has said DFW since 2am without any movement. Anyone else still in DFW? Its headed to the Chicago suburbs.
Yup. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero. Bupkis. Big Fat Goose Egg. Jack.
Mine is still at DFW too. I'm near downtown Chicago.
just spoke with the UPS guy that does my neighborhood...
if your tracking info says "Next Day" you are priority delivery and you will get the phone early in the day. Drivers will deviate from their regular route to get your package by a certain time.
If it says "Next day AIR SAVER" you will get it at the normal time UPS usually gets to your house/office.
so in my case, mine says Next Day Air Saver. Instead of getting it at 10am, im getting it at the usual time of delivery for my street (3pm). According to the UPS guy about 45 min ago.
I have been angry all week because my preorder from Friday was not officially processed until Monday due to the TC email that they send out at their leisure. After countless quotes of 21-28 days and no tracking info in sight, I was planning to wait in line tomorrow and canceling my preorder whenever it finally got here. I was reeeeally dreading that though, and I found out that I would probably have to pay a $35 restocking fee for each phone, so I decided to call AT&T CS one more time to clarify about cancellations. At the beginning of the call I decided it was worth a shot to ask her the status and that's when the magic happened. She started reading off the FedEx info and the rest is history.
Anyways, just wanted to post my last minute success story for anyone still waiting.
whats does import scan mean for ups customers for their shipping status?
According to UPS.com:
Import Scan: The shipment has cleared import procedures in the receiving country.
Don't worry you will get your phone, mine was stuck at import scan but is now in Houston, Texas (I live there)!

It's 8:15pm CST and I'm gonna start to drink heavily.
I want to pass out asap so tomorrow will come quicker, (no sex for the wife tonight)![]()

I ordered on the phone on 10/7, got T&C on 10/10, and my backordered status changed from 1 to 0 a few hours ago (good sign), but no shipping info yet.
Now that you are "in", expect to get jerked around for the next 2 years -![]()
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think the 'track by reference #' trick is a bug in the UPS website.
Try it. Put in ANY number for the reference number, and put in any 6 digits for the zip code. It *always* "finds a package":
-----
Your search found 1 package matching your package reference criteria.
Select a tracking number to see the full tracking detail.
Shipment Reference: 1234567890
Shipment Type: Mail Innovations
Ship Date Range: 09/15/2011 - 10/13/2011
Destination Postal/ZIP Code: 123456
-----
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am unfortunately.

For those without tracking numbers, think of it as a blessing in disguise.
You won't have to keep checking on it to see where it is. You can wake up and be surprised with a tracking number in your inbox or even better, a box on your doorstep.
