AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I know right hehe!!! My fedex usually delivers about right now 10am. Now every freaking sound I'm runnin to the door. This time it's the damn lawnlab guy across the street with a backup beeper LoL.

I love to hate this part but am glad my package is out for delivery :D
 
Stupid credit card…

Just called AT&T… they said that even though I ordered my phone at 4am ET on 10/7 because my credit card rejected the hold to do a fraud check my order was bumped further back 'in line.' They said that my device only got to the warehouse today and I should receive my device "maybe today, maybe tomorrow or Monday." :( Basically they have no idea.

When I called to update my credit card they said that there was no issue and I would still receive my device on the 14th. I then got a 'confirmation' email. Then a day later I got another billing issue email, I called them up and they assured me that there was no billing issue - however the guy did warn me that it could be a Friday or Saturday delivery. Next time I'll just my AMEX. They told me today that a lot of credit cards rejected the hold - no clue why, maybe its got something to do with making a large purchase at 4am or something.

Also worth noting is that if I check my order status by logging in to my account I have two different status. One saying there's a billing problem/pending and one that says backordered/pending. If I check the status using the order number I see a different report that says In Progress/Pending Shipment!

Perhaps if I had just gone to apple.com to order it in the morning I'd have a tracking number and some hope that UPS is about to pull up any minute now. Instead, here I am waiting for a tracking number and some vague time frame of when my phone might arrive. Did people who ordered through att.com get screwed worse then people who upgraded through apple.com?

Thanks for letting me vent, you guys understand. I can't decide if this is worse then standing in line for 4 hours at the Apple store.

Also, what is wrong with us? I thought I read that the iPhone 4S was a 'disappointment.' :p Can't wait to play with Siri - there's been a few times in the last week that I would have remembered to do something had I remembered to made a reminder.
 
Just called a random retail ATT store that is close by and they said they have the 64GB 4S in stock right now without any long wait lines. I am calling reight now to see if I can cancel the preorder and just go over there and buy one outright.

Has anyone been able to cancel their preorder and go to a store to buy it from their stock?

I called and they said that the upgrade I used may not be eligible for a few days. That's the one I ordered too. A 64GB. -_- I'm in the same boat as you.

They wouldn't let me cancel.... i tried twice. let me know if you figure out a way to

Don't do it! With the way AT&T's systems are working, your cancelled status won't update soon enough!

Exact same situation here. Seems like a very common issue.
Still sitting in backorder hell. :mad:

I don't remember agreeing to T&C. I pre-ordered at 4:30am EST on the 7th. My credit card company thought ATT's charge was suspicious so they did not allow the charge to go through. I called ATT and gave them another card on the 10th.

When I check the status online, it shows that the first order was canceled and the 2nd is backordered.

When I call ATT, the rep says that she is not showing any backorder, but ithe phone has not shipped yet. Says I will get an email when it does and she doesn't know when that might be though.

I asked if I could just go to ATT store to buy one and cancel my pre-order. She says I can do that, but it may delay me getting my phone.

WAAAAAT??
I'm more confused than ever.

Well, this kinda scared me, why wouldn't my package be on that truck?

Im fearing something went wrong. Is it just the wrong truck or what?
 
Being the reminder/notes/appointment type of person I am...I'll probably spend more time talking to Siri than I will talking to people on the phone!

I dont know where you are, but here I sometimes see several trucks before mine. Yours will probably be around soon. Its hard not to chase them down though!
 
Glad I waited....

I ordered a 16 GB black through AT&T "Premier" at around 2 am PDT, 10/7, and after a lot of doubt whether the order went through, I thought about ordering one later that morning from the Apple site.

Glad I didn't because of the double order cancellation issue.

Patience pays off....mine is on the FEDEX truck and on its way! But I don't think I'll ever pre-order one again...at least not from AT&T!

Do you realize how many people ordered early AM on 10/7 and are stuck in back-order as of this morning while we see people who ordered on 10/8 getting delivery.

Are you kidding hehe!!! Man I had to leave one time waiting on a HD waterproof camcorder for Hawaii trip and passed a fedex truck at the end of my street only to follow him back and right pass my house LOL.

The worse part if I can't wait for the package anymore and have to leave I always see 2 or 3 trucks right around my neighborhood :eek: I just raise my arm and shout "damn you" hehe. But not today I'm here till my 2 orders come to my door so bring it on Fedex :D

I'm in Los Angeles, so they won't even start delivering for 15 more minutes!

Watching all the frenzy at the Apple Stores on CNN.
 
Delivered! 16gb white via FedEx. No signature required, they left it at my apartment door. My boyfriend is going to go home at lunch and bring it in and start it charging for me!
 
Arrived!

They are here and look great. Even the right color with the right number. Way to go AT&T! So excited to open! They, like my iPad when it arrived, will probably be out of batteries. I'm just guessing. :D:D:D:D:D

Haha, I'm normally not the one getting packages so I'm not concerned. But, I just found it weird that, that truck didn't have my phone.

Why wouldn't it have my phone? I just don't get it.
 
For those of you who've received it:

How is the registration process going?

Because I am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan, a Premier CSR told me a few days ago not to register it online but to call in because there won't be an unlimited option on the web. I'm thinking that I will be on hold forever if I do call.

Anyone experience this yet?
