AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Been checking my email ALL day hoping for something different than..

I ordered at an AT&T store at 10am when they opened last Friday. I got that confirmation 15 mins after I swiped my card. The money was taken out, but last night the pending status was gone. Now the money I spent on the iPhone is back in my account with no trace of the pending status with AT&T. I have no idea wtf is going on, I just want a tracking number so I know the damn thing has shipped! lol.

The only reason I went in the damn store in the first place instead of doing this at 1am online was so I could make 100% I kept my unlimited data plan.

I called the store they claim they cannot cancel the order there they say I must pay FULL retail price on the phone and only when I get the preorder I can return it and pay regular upgrade price

Ask them if they can do an order reversal. Don't call it a cancellation.
 
Anyone actually getting charged for their order?

32GB White: On route for delivery today via UPS
16GB White: Still shows as backordered.

My pending charges disappeared like many others here, but I was never charged after they shipped out one of my phones.

Thanks this may be my only option at this point since CSR are full of it.
Pretty stupid that they have preorders on hold yet loads of stock sitting in store, anything to make more money...
 
UPDATE: Noon time here and Fed Ex man just dropped off.He was gonna leave at door but heard and say him so I was waiting with door wide-open,lol

Got shipment notify the 12th and got something days before that that it had been shipped.When I log into my at&t acct it says it was shipped off the 10th though!?!?!Don't understand that part.

I've upgraded every time a new one comes out since the very 1st iPhone came out!

Ordered by phone, Friday morning. Had some trouble getting the T and C (never showed up in my email, I kept calling and gave them a different email address, eventually got it and signed it several days ago)

Got the confirmation email but never got a tracking one. Called att now and she says because there was some issue with the T and C they reissued my order. Because of that she says I will not get the phone today but I should get a tracking order email today and get it tomorrow. I will be happy if that does really happen.

I have to give them credit for hiring enough people, I waited less than a minute for an operator.

AT&T will just string you along about back orders, If you notice they have stopped giving out any time frames for back ordered items, they are basically just saying you get it when you get it

The online tracking page is still showing back-ordered '1', and no tracking # or email yet.
However, I just got the following text from AT&T about 30 min. ago:


AT&T Free Msg: Thx for your iPhone order! Remember, no need to visit a store. Your device will ship directly to the address stated on your confirmation e-mail.

We'll have to see what happens.

UPS just came but had to deliver "PRIORITY" packages to my building...my phone is "NEXT DAY AIR SAVER".

He said he had a few more "PRIORITY" deliveries to make, but would check real quick to see if he could find it fast!

He said he had over 100 iPhones plus all his other packages...I saw all the iPhones, but he didn't see mine and said he'd have to come back.

STILL WAITING

I live at Park La Brea with 14,000 other residents...guess I'll get it by 3pm.

PS: One of my neighbors has a big sign on the door that says...FEDEX PLEASE RING THE BELL I AM HOME!

Did you receive a tracking number and shipment status update or did it just arrive at your door?

In fact. has ANYONE received a delivery without first getting a tracking number?

Order Tracking

So I preordered in-store on 10/7 around 8:00pm eastern time...I got all of my info and for some reason I can track someone else's order. Did this happy to anyone else?

Oh and lucky me, I'm back ordered and just received the same text that everyone else in the forum has been mentioning. :(

Online preorders ship first. Bank account holds check to see if the funds are there and then it will charge again once it ships.
 
64GB Black, AT&T ordered through AT&T at 3:30 am on the 7th. Delivered.

Not fair!!!

IM SO UPSET!!! My upstairs neighbor just got his phone, and his orders processed on 10/10!!!!!!!!! WHat the *******. I ordered the 10/7 and im still on back order. JUST SAW THE UPS GUY LEAVE!:(:(

WHAT THE HELL AT&T!!!!!
 
Does anyone besides me find it to be complete ************* that they are selling phones in the stores today while people who ordered on 10/7 are on backorder for 14+ days? What is the point of preorder if they are using their stock to fill up their stores instead of filling the preorders. Yes AT&T, this is why everyone hates you.
 
My phone is on a Fedex vehicle for delivery but my money just came back into my bank account.. whats going to happen?
 
Phone was delivered at 10:24. Person I relied on to be there missed it. Now I have to wait till Monday. Called UPS they said I can't pick it up and no Saturday delivery per AT&T restrictions.

Summary - Sucks

The money never actually left your account. It was just an auth-hold.

The authorization hold has now fallen off. This is normal and means nothing more than the fact that the authorization has timed out and fallen off. AT&T will still charge you once they settle. Several people last year got charged after they received their iPhones.

My phone is being delivered today and I haven't been charged yet.
 
Well, my AT&T Store pre-order from 10/07 was still showing backordered.

Went to the AT&T Store. They cancelled my pre-order, and sold me a iPhone 4S that they just got in a shipment. They fixed everything, now I'm set.

This as a great customer service experience.

That's the exact reason I went to my local store. And to make sure other packages on family package I have didn't get screwed with. Funny, by making sure I didn't get screwed with the packages I have changing I got screwed on when I get the phone.
